At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear.And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going.It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"

"You only know so little," Ryu said. The blast was caught up in heavier vibrations as the mana used to execute the attack were disrupted and split apart like atoms. "Birsingr the Accursed, god of Knowledge and Wisdom. That is my name in the human world. My knowledge surpasses you Kaymn, obviously. Vibrations cannot be transmuted into an element if it was not an element in the first place," Ryu explained. "Your powers are obsolete. My powers can defy even your mighty powers, Griver," Ryu said. "You see, this whole time, I've been playing with you all to see if anyone would notice the full extent of my powers. However, even with full use of my vibrations, I'll only be fighting at 50%," Ryu explained. He knew the other Kaymn had no idea of what he was talking about. "The full extent of my power lies beyond the gods themselves but require so much to activate. Whatever the case, I will fight at my full 50%," Ryu concluded. "Everything has a vibration. The skill to manipulate a vibration lies in a person's resolve. My resolve... is to defeat you all," Ryu said. The vibrations around Ryu ceased. "Seismic Devastation!" Ryu shouted. The area around him and the other Kaymn started vibrating heavily. The air around them shifted as multiple rips in the air opened behind the group. "Each atom gains its vibration. With enough vibrations, it can greatly affect a person's nervous system because of the pressure and force. However, I am dealing with Kaymn so the most you all have is slowed movement and negation of magic. Oh, one more thing. The vibrations created multiple dimensional fissures. One could easily be sucked into one and appear in another dimension," Ryu shouted. He was of no exception. However, he suspended himself in the air with vibrations. It was a very difficult 2-step technique, but he kept his concentration. Ryu sat down, cris-cross, and closed his eyes, thus heightening his focus.

"It seems he's preparing some devastating attack...but no more..." Duke said as he began to charge his Persona Blast along with his Illusions one more time."Let us see these calamity results....does your vibrations can withstand my beams of illusions and reality?...." Duke said as he continuously charging up."And while you at it,I sacrificed half of my illusions.....for this chaos..." Duke said as he sacrficing half of it's illusions to summon the meteor rain,that was headed towards them..."This is a battle where even the Kamyns shouldn't survive..." Duke roared with a sign of death and agony...

(*throws a desk* I'm on it, I'm on it.)Aya began to wake from her being unconscious. Sairi turned to his sister and smiled, then looking up at Fairy."That is enough healing for now, I can carry my own sister, we don't have a lot of time, we need to get out of here all together." Sairi said seriously.Aya was silent, staring at Varion and the other people who she tried to attack.

Fairy nodded. "Okay,she should be able to walk. Now,what's the plan for us all to get out? I zoned out due to me healing." She blushed lightly feeling silly. "Varion is right,I can almost feel someone watching." She added and stood. She yawned. 'I wonder what time it is?' She thought to herself.

"This plan is fine and dandy and all, but you're all missing one thing. Four of us still need to be incapacitated for this to work, so who's it gonna be. I volunteer, as long as someone here's willing to KO me quickly and painlessly." Jasper said, waiting for a response.

 

Amber

While all of the fighting and commotion was going on around the the paralyzed Gold team members, Amber shut her eyes, slowly breathed and out, and waited for the paralysis to wear off. She wanted to see what was going on, of course, but for now, she needed to keep her cool and prepare to take action.

dropping his head slightly Tristan gave a slight pout to Jasper's comment "I mention that like three times is nobody listening to me" Instantly perking back up Tristan noticed Aya was awake again "Hum Aya's awake again so we still need to pick our four but since Jasper has volunteered that makes three hum i know this might not seem fair considering she's just woken up but..." looking to Aya Tristan crossed his arms "Considering even with Fairy's healing you need help to walk right now Aya it might be wiser just to knock you out so we have two people picked in your current condition you might just slow down the five running through the door and lead to the plan failing also Fairy this may sound a little rough but maybe you should be one of the four as well if you refuse it's fine but I'm just seeing it from the point of view we need to keep the front runners awake over the rear guard who defend but that final decision I'll leave to you"

The being of darkness recoiled from being hit by Ferro, and then it's abilities were temporarily  suspended. As a way to recharge them it sucked more power from the three paralyzed climbers on the ground, further injuring them. As this happened, it dove towards Sandrew, angry at his attack, and clawed at his face viciously, scapes of black flame licking off it's fingers as it did.

 

Iron

As the recording orb was touch, the entire room was bathed in a faint dimmed light. The skeletons were still there, yes, but a transparent lightened form of the room appeared as well, and where the skeletons lay there were now people, dead still, but only recently. On the throne where the regal skeleton was appeared the spectral image of a man in the same armor, bearded, wrinkled, distraught.

 

"Perhaps one day someone will hear these words. Years from now. When I am long gone and out people long forgotten."

 

A huge echoey crash was then heard at the door the team had ventured in.

 

"We haven't much time." the old man sighed. "I am Faefnur, the king of the Evraius faithful, those who have chosen to live under this mountain and worship the Kamyn. The people we thought were our lords. We came here to do their bidding and they allowed us because we only followed their orders."

 

Another large crash was heard. The man looked increasingly worried.

 

"It's different now. We went to far into the mountain.... we found..."

 

Another crash from outside the door, stone and dust fell around the man due to the force.

 

"Our lords. The Kamyn. They aren't... they aren't this world's gods. They aren't anyone's gods. They aren't gods at all! This mountain isn't a mountain at all! At the peak you'll find what makes them powerful. We thought it was magic we use in life, it isn't! We are too foolish to see what it is. They understand it, and that is why they are powerful!"

 

A momentous crash brought more stones falling down around him.

 

"There is no more time to explain. After our discovery they were... displeased. They hunted us. I sealed the door with magic locks, but knowing their power, I had my followers all poison themselves. So they cannot get to us. I shall be the last. Remember us travelers. Please. And for whatever reason you have come to Evraius; leave. There is nothing here but death and secrets."

 

The man then reached into his bag and pulled out a vial of dark liquid, and downed it.

 

"If..." he began to choke, "if you cannot leave.... then- .... the summit. Find.... the summit. It is there."

 

He fell back into his chair and chocked more grasping the orb tightly in his hand, then he was still. The illusion evaporated and a door opened behind the throne, leading to a huge magic-activated lift that sat at the bottom of a great shaft, leading upward....

 

Sanya

"Sanya...."

 

The voice was familiar.

 

"Sanya........"

 

Somewhere in this darkness it emanated.

 

"Sanya..........."

 

Adriev.....

 

She stood alone in a vast space of darkness, and he spoke to her.

 

"You are so very close to dying for a final time, Sanya, so tell me, do you wish to be returned to life?

Cornelius dropped to a knee as he was apparently feed off of.

"Not so fast, boyo." He said through gritted teeth, blasting the creature again with a psy attack.

The strikes phased through Sandrew near harmlessly as he slashed at it again to seal it's attacks again as it drained energy from them, sealing it's sapping and other powers off again. "Ferro! Get ready!"

Ferro~~~~~

 

Ferro leaped toward the shadow beast, metal plates coming to float around him defensively. With a shout he launched himself into a flurry of stabs and slashes with Birgitte at the monster. The afterimage of the white-hot blades trailed through the air, hardly disappearing before another was made.

Fairy huffed. "Hey,I maybe weak,but I am fast! Besides,I'm the only one who can heal the knocked out. Think with your head not you feet. Besides,every step of the way has been a trap. I the most important to keep alive,as I'm the healer. Besides,I'm also a doctor and many other things. You need me more than you think...I need a chance to prove myself!"

"So that we can run away like cowards? "You really do have no knowledge of how things work do you?" Ryu said. He did not move or budge. Nothing came out of the dimensional rip that Duke magically opened with his illusions. "As I mentioned before, your powers are obsolete," Ryu cleared his throat. He slowly opened his eyes to the Persona Blasts. "Distortion," Ryu said. The Persona Blasts dissolved as the mana used to cast the technique was split apart and decomposed into atoms. Ryu sat in the air and raised his finger. "One: One cannot re-open the same dimensional rip used to suck up an object unless he/she knows what coordinates in space the attack was sent. Two.." Ryu began to start teaching the Kaymn as he gently raised his hand to close the black hole. "One cannot open rips in the sky unless one uses an immense amount of mana to use the technique, even a Kaymn. Meaning, you're at you're limits, Duke," Ryu said.

 

He then stood up. "I think I've had just about enough fun with you all. Though I didn't have much thanks to your surprising ignorance. I, alas, am ashamed to even call myself a Kaymn," Ryu said shaking his head and insulting the group that had come to "take him down".

 

With that, he started to fly away.... to Adreiv's location.

Varion:

"It's alright, Fairy." Varion smiled, going over to the young woman and placing his hand upon her head, "I do think that if worse comes to worse you should be amongst the five. You may not be a good fighter, but your healing asset is invaluable." Varion said, smiling a bit, "So calm down and let's get everyone moving. I'd like to be done with this room, and I think everyone else thinks that same way."

 

Emert:

"These Kamyn...are not as they seem." Emert growled, gripping his swords even more. Why did these "Gods" let them view that orb? It told Iron team all they needed to know. Their conquest on this mountain was not in vain nor unjustified. The Kamyn had many things to explain, and what this team had just witnessed told them all just that.

"We must move on. Immediately. The Kamyn have many more things to answer to. That recoring answered nothing and only opened many more questions.."

As he know that Ryu have managed to escape,Duke was there,removing his illusions and all."Am I.....really this weak? Even though I've come this far..." Duke said as he was in a deep sorrow.Suddenly,he began to head back to the headquarters."Forgive me,Adriev.You're like a father to me.....but this revenge shall come to fruiton..." Duke said with an evil thoughts in his heart...

"Alright Jasper, I got ya!" Kinzoku said cheerily, maybe a tad too much so considering her actions. She shaped an ingot into a cylinder, and slammed it into the back of his skull, pinpointing the best spot for knocking someone unconscious. (If he is knocked unconscious, then Kinzoku caught him as he fell and placed him on one of her metal stretchers.) "Alright who next? Tristan, Varion, Lance? You can be heavy don't worry, I can levitate you really fast on my stretchers, and it won't take up any of my strength." Kinzoku stated, trying to get more volunteers.

The Doctor backed up a step when Cathos simply reached out and touched the orb. "Or you can do it. Of course, let Cathos the smartest man alive do it, why didn't I think of that? I must be such a dumb fool." The Doctor exclaimed, rather indignant. He proceeded to watch the following scene with interest. Intriguing. "So if what we wield is not magic, it must be an advanced science. Or humankind has simply been insane for centuries." The Doctor said, thinking out loud. Then, Warthrop walked over to the gold armored skeleton. He looked around the bones, the pockets of the armor, hoping to find some more of that poison. Such a tool might be helpful in their quest. He spoke again as he looked. "In any case, I agree with the Judge. We must be going."

Sanya looked up. In this darkness, what clothed her was fire, water, and earth. it moved and shaped itself, covering her torso. Looking up, she looked exasperated.

"Why would I wish to return? My final death...My final death. Adriev, I've lived longer then anyone else. I was there at the beginning, and when Serafine gave herself for my life. I've lived for her, and she has been giving me all herself to me. She of all of my familiars...Bastet, Fenris, Ahri, Tobias, Shirley, Aryel, and my newest one, Tigraine." The girl looked around her, each familiar surrounding her. "I came because I have no fear of death. I have nothing more to live for. I've done everything I ever wanted, and now all I have left to do is die. Death is the next great adv-"

The cry of a phoenix was mixed with the roar of a Raiju. The storm spirit that had denied becoming her familiar nearly two centuries ago, and now it was with Serafine, placing themselves around her.

"You defeated me, one of the spirits of the weather itself. Yet you are so ready to give up. You have done many things, but you have denied yourself on of life's greatest rights. To be happy. I have watched you since then, and you have never been happy. Serafine saved you, but your happiness wasn't true. And now...you're ready to give up to monsters far worse then I. Was I right to deny you?"

 

Serafine landed on her shoulder. "I saved you because you had a great heart. But it seems my gift has been wasted for centuries."

 

Sanya looked at the phoenix perched on her shoulder. "I...I..."

She looked helpless. "I don't know what to do."

[it's not hard to see where this is going] Apollo thought. He wasn't extremely pleased with the situation. If the supply shack was once used for war, it will have the ingredients we need.""It's hard to find the comfort to shut your eyes when you're in a war.... many soldiers would have to take something to put them to sleep. But instead of just having an already-made substance sent to the supply posts, they would have have various herbs sent that they could make into a knockout formula, so the people and the King wouldn't know how scared they really were."He turned around, "I can go back to the shack and grab them if you can combine them. I know about herbs, but putting them together isn't my strong suit. As Varion said, we don't have much time."
