When I decided to replay DDD I noticed somebody about Riku while I was fighting the first boss of the game. Riku wasn't using his keyblade to fight he was using the sword named Soul Eater that he used in COM.

Makes sense. Riku didn't gain The Way to Dawn till KHII, I believe. It's a nightmare of the past, emphasized by their younger selves and the presence of Ursula. (Even though she was resurrected somehow in KHII or something...)

Nothing in it.

He had been able to summon his Soul Eater in another cutscene as well, during one of the scenes with Yen Sid and Sora.

Yeah, but that doesn't explain why he has to use his sword to fight her.

As one of Riku's highest fans, I indeed noticed it. Funny how sometimes it looked just like Way To Dawn :P.

That part of the game resembled the past, if I'm not wrong.

Yeah I thought it took place in the past actually

I had no idea! Wow shows how much I pay attention to what is going on. I'm glad I have friends like you who watch out for stuff like that!

Nobody listens to Xehanort or Yen Sid. :<

Yup, but it was just a tutorial to teach you basic commands and how to fight. It's not important to the story itself

The Soul Eater was one of the first things I noticed in that game. It was also one of the first things to make me go: What the f--what? As I wondered why he was even using it. :/

Who says he had to? Maybe he just wanted to

It represents he still has trouble with his darkness right?
