Re:Coded DVD/Bluray? Netflix?

Posted

I recently watched all of the 358/2 Days cutscenes from the 1.5 HD ReMIX on Youtube, and I feel bad for not paying to watch it :(

I don't have a PS3 yet (don't know if I ever will) so I think that Square Enix should consider putting out a DVD of the cutscenes from the HD 2.5 ReMIX version of Re:Coded, for those who want to legally watch them. Or possibility some legal (paid) online way to watch it, like Netflix. It's not exactly illegal watching the cutscenes on Youtube but it does reach a line, in my opinion, when the cutscenes are equal to a movie in length and features some entirely new content.

So Square Enix should offer some way to watch the Re:Coded cutscenes legally for those who want to pay for the hard work that Square Enix put into the movie, without buying an entire $60 game.

Theyre not movies...

Well, it's definitely not a game... I think it's closer to a movie than a game, so they should give us options to watch it legally.

So you are not going to play the final mixes on ps3?

Sadly not. Might buy the collections for PS4 if they port them to that console.

There are no games on PS3 that warrant me buying that console over upgrading my PC or buying games for my existing platforms/saving for a PS4.

They made a DVD set of the KH and KH II scenes, but not any others to my knowledge.

LOL. No they didn't. Square Enix don't release shit like that.

I know when 358 Days HD Cinematics came out, fans asked Square the same question. Basically Square said it was better to just buy it with the bundle because it wasn't worth the money as a stand-alone movie. I mean this is Nomura, he did direct Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. If he wanted to put them as a stand-alone movie, he could, but it's better to just buy it with the bundle.

Yeah, but I don't have a PS3 so it's pointless. I would want to support them but $60 to watch a movie is ridiculous. They should at least release it on a legal streaming site. Releasing it on DVD would cost too much for the demand but a legal digital version would be appreciated and not expensive for Square Enix.

An't happening. They are NOT movies. They're "HD Cinematic Story Videos". They will not be released separately.  And technically the PS3 game is Blu-ray. Lol.

I don't think I could watch the cinematics on a generic Bluray player (for instance, in my computer) so while the cutscene movie is available on Bluray it isn't useful at all.

Not a movie. KH content is VERY RARELY released digitally. They want people to purchase the HD collection. They won't released it any other way.

Well, hopefully they release both collections for PS4 too so I can buy those and not be a quasi-pirate.

PlayStation Now is probably your best bet.

I think this is a good idea, but I also don't see it happening

I'm siding with Sora96, that idea is just upsurd..

I feel proud... I finally suggested something so absurd that it was called upsurd. My job here is done.

Typing on the iPhone is a bitch..

Honestly for PS4 it may be not fair if the PS3 doesn't get KH3.

Don't think Playstation Now. A digital release for KH seems unlikely.

Nomura ( Or some one else in the KH Team) Did call Re: Coded a movie.

However it aint happen, you can watch it on youtube. If you feel bad that you watch it for free Donate Square Enix! :D

Correction: Yasue said "you can watch it like a movie"

That doesn't mean it's a movie, it just means you can watch it like one.

Another correction: the true KH team hasn't worked on KH games since KH2. They're doing FFXV. The team working on the HD collections is the Osaka team.

We'll have all them in our video archive in stunning 1080p.

Not going to happen.
