I think Moving Images should be disabled for Avatars and Signatures.

They are too distracting to be kept.

What do you guys think of this?

It lags some computers but some member enjoy moving images

I personally don't think it matters.

I don't think it's as big of a deal as some of the other things being discussed at the moment.

I don't really have a problem with moving images, I haven't seen tons of them lately, mostly Sorage's but that matter has been discussed before.

No offence but I think its a bad idea. I think you'll also see why Sorage is called SoRAGE. Why is it such an issue? Its as if you want everything disabled, isnt DC already doing something about Sigs? If you think quality of posts are the issue disabling the moving images isn't going to inspire pulitzer winning writing, all its gonna do is piss people off because it robs them of their symbol of individuality and it'll make everything look vacant, empty, still. Why do you care so much?

The only problem I have with them is the lag they cause, but distracting? I don't think so.

If they annoy you so, hide signatures.

I'd suggest a vote on this issue, but it appears as if everyone wants to keep them. You can make a vote if you want, however.

Dude seriously. Lag MY ASS. I'm in a Firefox Portable[My slowest browser] with a 996MHz processor. I'm currently riding a dinsosaur that was given the magic of and seen how it deals with it. NOT WELL. Do you really think that teeny tiney less than 200 KB PICTURES can stop a computer running WINDOWS 2000. And pretty much everyone on this site has XP/Vista/7. Including me.

Card, Its distracting, And really theres no point of them. They may look cool. But this is a Forum not a place to display moving images on every post you make.

 

Really Moving images should be for like Random and Images forums.

But doesn't the User Control Panel let you hide sigs, I dont see the need to get rid of them, again this is going back to expression and individuality. As for avatars they're quite small and most users dont use Gifs for them.
