July 31, 201411 yr Author 45,000! Is Hollywood really that deprived of original material?! Fairytales are hot. And some have mae lots of money: Prime examples Snow White: A Tale of Terror Hansel and Gretel: Witch hunters Red Riding Hood. It's a big business. And yeah, about 45,000 since the early 1930's.

July 31, 201411 yr Author There have been films about multiple fairy tales since the 30's? Oh, my bad: I thought you meant films based on fairy tales in general. The only multiple fairy tale I can think of is The Brothers Grimm
July 31, 201411 yr That looked way different from what I expected, but still really intriguing. I'm gonna keep an eye on this movie from now on.
July 31, 201411 yr I've never seen the play this was based on but it seems like it follows the Grimm versions (Cinderella getting help from a tree instead of a Fairy God Mother and her slippers being gold rather than glass) Then why'd you post? At least he was polite about it. It's not like he said "*sigh* Another shit movie from a shit company who cant think of anything original. Yay." Edited July 31, 201411 yr by Isamu_Kuno
August 1, 201411 yr My, My. All I hope is that this adaption stays true to the original musical's magic, darkness, charm, and memorability by a lot. But after all of the changes that happened, I'm having mixed feelings. However, I'll just wait until the film is actually released to judge it fully. I loved the original musical, so I'm gonna see this anyway. I just wished more people knew that it's not something original by Disney. Edited August 1, 201411 yr by Hargleblargleboo

January 4, 201510 yr Has anyone else seen the movie yet? I loved it. The Stage Musical is a classic. A lot of people hate it. Critics give it a collective 73% on RT.
Pays to be subbed to weird British channels.
