What Fictional Settings Do You Enjoy?

Posted

I personally enjoy settings that are based on the real world, but have fictional elements in them.

Like:

MARVEL

DC

DOCTOR WHO

ASSASSINS CREED and others

What about you?  What types of fictional settings do you enjoy?

High Fantasy - Magic, swords, dragons, all that stuff. Don't think this needs any examples. xD

And I don't know what the genre is called, but fantasy that's set it a world much like our own modern world (perhaps even set in our world, but with supernatural/magical elements). Persona and Mekakucity Actors are examples.

Fictional or realistic, doesn't really matter. All I care about is how well the story, characters and world-building are carried out. And gameplay in the case of videogames

inside an apple 0/*

Foretree City

I really like settings from Kamen Rider Wizard, Gokaiger, and Final Fantasy XIII.  I just want to be the main protagonist is all.

Fantasy or sci-fi settings, preferably ones that are vibrant, colorful, and happy. I can't stand overly dark settings, they just bore me. I don't feel invested when everything's monotone, and I'm practically emotionless.

Cyberpunk always has a special place in my heart and Contemporary Urban Fantasy is always something I love to see done right. I prefer the darker and more twisted versions of the world for sure.

I usually like when fantasy mixes with reality, such as Tiger & Bunny or Blast of Tempest. But I do love Utopia mixed with Dystopia themes, like No.6 and Psycho-Pass.
