What is the game about?

What is the game about?

It's a crossover between the Dragon Quest RPG series by Square Enix, and Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors series. If you've seen Hyrule Warriors, the gameplay's going to be similar to that.

Knowing Square Enix. This game is just going to be another Japan exclusive that America or any other western country will never get to play. Especially since the Dragon Quest series is not all the popular in the west.

The Dragon Quest series isn't as popular as it is in Japan in the West, but it's still pretty popular. A lot of people have been begging Enix to release DQX and the 3DS games outside Japan (Myself included), and it wouldn't hurt to have them test the waters again with a game like this, especially in the wake of Hyrule Warriors. Making a Sony counterpart would make for some great competition, and I'm sure it would do well to get people interested in both franchises.

Warriors games suck. They're redundant button mashers. The DQ ps4 system looks cool though.

Wow really? Well I hope you get your Dragon Quest games. I've tried out a Dragon Quest game once, and couldn't truly get into it. IDK why but it just felt a bit boring for me. But if you do end up getting the DQ 3DS games plus this new one coming out for PS3/PS4 than I'm sure that SE will localize more DQ games. I mean just look at Namco Bandai. They stopped localizing Tales Of games since they weren't selling that well after Symphonia. But than after they gave Western fans another games by localizing Tales of Graces F. They are now giving us Western fans A LOT of Tales Of games ever since Graces F sold really well. Much better than Namco anticipated. I'm sure the same thing will happen with SE and the Western Dragon Quest fans.

I'm not catching the interest. Maybe a lot more gameplay and less CGI would be better. There were few 3-5 second shots of actual gameplay. Hyrule Warriors' Debut was literally nothing more than actual gameplay.

For me, it's the Dragon Quest atmosphere (While I like Zelda, Dragon Quest feels a bit more natural for this type of game), and the enemies look more varied than what I remember seeing in Hyrule Warriors trailers. There seems to be a lot more life in this than Hyrule Warriors. Both are definitely great games, and I'll get both assuming this one comes to the West, but I'm more interested in this one.

The producer commented on this the other day. Just needs to hear the demand before they localize a game as big as VII.

"People have been begging for the game to be localized for years now, but we don't think that it will have any support. Screw you, West." Enix's logic there isn't quite the best right now. : Besides, this is a remake. They could just take the lines from the PS1 version, and not even have to rescript. Just slap those over the Japanese lines, and it's all good. It might still take a while, but it beats redoing the script.

They don't want to do that.

They don't want to do that.

The thing is, they're saying they won't do it unless there's support. There's CLEARLY support. YEARS of support. I love Enix, but they need to wake up and realize there are DQ fans outside of Japan.

Just need to pull a Bravely Default.

I'm pretty sure DQ fans have tried everything we can at this point.

Holy crap... I'm more excited for this than Hyrule Warriors, to be honest. It looks amazing. I really, REALLY hope it's not another Japan-exclusive game, because I'd love to play this.

Knowing Square's recent patterns with Dragon Quest, this is gonna be Japan exclusive

With that being said,it interests me as much as Hyrule Warriors, but I'm more excited for Hyrule Warriors because guess what? It's coming outside of Japan unlike recent Dragon Quest games

Heck we didn't even get Dragon Quest VII on the 3DS for god's sake

Yep, we ain't gonna get this one :/

Japan needs to be greedy /shot

Never played Dragon Quest, but who knows I might play this one.

I'm really curious about the story, it actually looks pretty cool. The new characters all looked really fun to play as, too. Can't wait until it's released!

I agree, I've never played a DQ game but it looks quite good.

I've personally only played VI, IX, and a Wii spin-off game, but I intend on playing the other games. This one's definitely looking like one I'll import unless it gets an English release. I'm really hoping some characters from DQIX will get added soon. It might have been all custom characters for the party, but some of the NPCs would make for really cool additions.

I hope they release it in English, but if not I guess I'll have to import. Everything I've seen and heard so far has been positive. :)
