Why the X-Blade looks so much like the Kingdom Key?

Posted

So... I was bored, and then this came to my mind.

Why the X-Blade looks so much like the Kingdom Key?

(notice this is only something  that came to my mind in a boring emotional state)

I just want to see  your thoughts  :)

I'd always assumed that since the Kingdom Key is the most natural form for a Keyblade, that the X-blade, which is basically the perfect Keyblade would take the form of two of them. (Or is it the other way around?)

Either lazy designers or significance.

That X-blade was not finished.

It might just be symbolic .

I also think it is a symbolical purpose but it could also be a reference in KH 3 so we have to wait patiently... :/

The X-Blade is the true and only legendary Keyblade, all the others are less powerful copies of it! So, plotwise, the Kingdom Key it's the one that took the appearance of the X-Blade and, development-wise, it's the other way around. But, ever since we discovered about the X-Blade, I always thought that somehow Sora is like the human form of the X-Blade and Kairi is like the human form of Kingdom Hearts.. this could be one way to explain why Sora (I know it was Riku originally but yolo) got to wield the Keyblade that most resembles the X-Blade. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we were to discover about a connection between X-Blade and Kingdom Key, after all the latter has unique powers compared to other Keyblades.

Maybe because the kingdom key is strongly connected to the X-blade and how the X-blade was made.

I like your theory of Sora being the X-Blade, I found it really interesting, But we only have to wait and see. Because Nomura can do all types of plot twists.

I wondered this too when I first played BBS but I guess we will find out in KH3 .

It could be because the Kingdom Key is the most basic Keyblade that we've seen. It's likely that the first Keyblades were designed to look like that, and since they were made in the image of the X-Blade, they look identical.

Or Nomura just felt like making it look that way. I think that one's more likely.
