Yeah, I know that this game was announced a long time ago. I just felt like an active discussion thread for it would be cool to have, and we can update this thread with news whenever any is released.

 

For those who don't know, Xenoblade Chronicles X is an RPG coming to the Wii U at some point next year. It's a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, but it doesn't seem to be related to the original game, outside of a species known as the Nopons making an appearance in both. From what we've seen, this one will add mech combat, and allows players to make their own custom characters. Adding all of this on top of what the original game had to offer really makes this feel like it has the potential to be the best JRPG of the current generation. Anyone else excited for the game?

Yeah, they actually stocked it well out here. From what I've seen, it's still available at a few different retailers. Of course, it's also possible that no one bothered to order it because NoA's doing such a bad job of advertising the game...

Europe's commercials were honestly a lot better. I'm surprised that America's even getting a commercial, given how little they've properly advertised the game.

I just read NintendoLife's review, and it's good to see that they really enjoyed it. I'm waiting for the video reviews from some of the people I watch, since I'm not really interested in a lot of the big name reviewers.

You should definitely double check before cancelling your current order, but I remember Nintendo included a link to pre-order the SE in one of their recent videos. I don't remember hearing that it sold out yet.

As visually glorious as this looks on the Wii U, I actually prefer the original Xenoblade. The characters were more enjoyable on that version.

As someone else said... The game isn't even out yet. Not sure how you know so much about a game you have yet to play, unless you imported or got an early copy. What's with all the unwarranted negative comments here these past few months from people who are seemingly experts on a game that none of us have played?

That wasn't at all a negative comment, firstly. There's reason for an expressed opinion, number one. If you ask me, I'll give valid points to MY opinion, not negatively bash the game like "other critics". Two, I've already read story summaries, followed this game since it was announced, AND watched hours into gameplay already of the final product. So yes, sir, I have made an informed judgement about the game, and again NOT bashing it for no reason. Simply ask why instead of getting defensive.EDIT: the game is out in Japan, so technically the entire story and content has been revealed. Unfortunately those who do not speak Japanese or care to read translations are at a disadvantage to ones who do'

As for not following the Japanese release, that's because I like to experience games for myself, which I will begin doing on Friday. There's no "disadvantage," unless you're talking about the tendency of those who followed the Japanese release to throw spoilers around like they're nothing. Also, summaries won't give the full depiction of a character. Playing the game is what lets one learn more about its cast.

You can have your opinion, but saying out of nowhere "Yeah the new characters are nowhere near as good as the old ones" certainly seems like a negative comment towards them. Combined with all of the other recent negative posts made in the thread these past few months, along with all of the people making a big deal out of some small censorship details, just seeing the negative is getting rather tiring.

I asserted the characters were more enjoyable, not "they're nowhere near as good". And my opinion is proved by the chemistry that they possessed TO ME that made each memorable. Not once even from THIS have I said anything wrong about X.

I'll admit that was an exaggeration, but regardless, you essentially agreed that the new characters aren't as good, and you haven't even played the game yet.

Yes, I have not played the game, but in seeing others play the game (via walkthrough) I know how it plays from the first couple hours, and admittedly skipped around here and there to see the change in the chemistry of the characters. I have not asserted once that the game is bad I've never asserted once that I won't be playing it myself, and in fact if I didn't give a damn about it I wouldn't be here, because I as I'm sure many of us on KH13 aren't fond of trolling. BUT I have made a judgement based on what I saw, which I believe isn't an unfair judgement, and that's all I'm trying to get through.

As I said, you can have your opinion. However, sudden statements about how the original is better in some regards doesn't actually come off as being particularly positive. Acting condescending and targeting others in your argument won't really help, either.
