but he never does.

Now the "die before you are killed" Kinda makes sense, if you use it in the right context. For example, if you were stranded on a house-sized space craft with a Xenomorph lurking somewhere in the cockpit, wouldn't you much rather drop dead from fear, than be impaled?

There's also the counterpart.
