So I just bought my PS4 this morning only to find out that a group known as Lizard Sqaud hacked both companies and now no one can go online! Just great! So discuss what you think about this?

Yup. ^^' I made a thread about this already. It's been over a day since PSN is down. I heard Live is up again, but no hopes for PS4 so far.

I'm still surprised that Sony didn't increase the security of their firewalls after the 2011 PSN hacking debacle

Soon as new security software is up, there's people half way through cracking it or exploiting it.

Yeah but those incidents happened so frequently.Having a network going down frequently would turn off consumers from using such network especially in an age where people are online almost all the time

Not to mention the amount of money you'll lose if you released an MMO or an online based game

I feel bad for the one who are playing FFXIV and enjoying the free trial.

I have read that they are want to take it down forever who knows mayby it will then be down again.

Considering Lizard Squad only wanted to keep it down for Christmas (From what I understood anyway), I'm pretty sure it's just server overload at this point. My PS3 has been able to access PSN now (Couldn't until late last night), but I can't add funds.

I'm able to access most of PSN though I"m having a hard time sending messages and going to the store.

I see that Sony took psn down cause people couldn't login should be back soon.

Also bad for the one who just got a ps3/ps4 for Christmas.

I'm getting the feeling that Sony will offer free games like they did in 2011 for this mess. It seems that alot of people who bought the PS4 today are all very upset.

They posted on Twitter that they're done with the DDOS attack: https://twitter.com/firetruckCRUCIFIX/status/548617664730767360

Now we just need to hope that Sony and Microsoft can get the servers back up soon.

PS4 users aren't the only ones affected... My PS3 couldn't get on the PS Store at all today, and same for my brother's Vita. Sony has more systems than just the PS4.

Well I wouldn't know since I only own the PS4 atm.
