If Walt Disney was still alive (113/114 years)...

Posted

...what do you guys think he would say about the Kingdom Hearts series? What would be his rate for the series? To have his characters interacting with each other (not often for that time)?

* What would be his opinion on the nowadays animated films (made by his company, of course) becoming more musical (not that it's a bad idea for an animation), the new princesses, the new villains, etc?

* What would be his opinion on Disney buying other companies and franchises (Star Wars, Marvel)?

Let the speculation begin...

Love and peace...

Walt Disney : *Mickey Mouse's voice* Well, Hot Dog!

I didn't know him personally, so it's hard to answer, but I can give it a shot. When I think of Walt Disney, I think of him as a great storyteller and someone who was always moving forward and improving ideas (which can be supported by many documentaries). With this in mind, I think his thoughts would be...

Kingdom Hearts
I don't think he would have gone to Square with this idea, but I think he would have loved it when it would be brought to his attention. Video games are another form of storytelling, and I could see him jumping on the video game scene as a company a lot sooner. Th first game had the perfect balance of simple story, great characters, and amazing graphics, which he would adore. He probably would have had Mickey a more prevalent character earlier on in the series and simplified the story that came after the first game.

Animated Films
Maybe I'm not reading your questions right, but I don't think he would have anything significant to say about animation today. He loved the genre, and all of the animated films he worked on were practically musicals. Would the Disney films be different today with his influence? Sure. I think fundamentally they would be the same though.

Marvel and Lucasfilm
Honestly I don't know, since buying intellectual property on the scale of these two was unheard of back in the day. I know he got screwed over on Oswald because of a bad experience with a large company, so that would influence him somehow. Off the top of my head: I'd say he buy the Muppets and Star Wars, but not Pixar or Marvel.

I think he would laugh at "Disney's Frozen".

"What's all this sissy Jap nonsense mucking up my creations?!"

"Why are we still working in animation?! I specifically said no more cartoons!"

"We spent millions of dollars to buy a funny book company?! That's it, you're all fired!"

If I were to guess.

"Ew whats this weeb shit"

"WHAT ON EARTH IS A 'RIKU' I WANT THIS DESTROYED"

I think he'd be really distressed at "what the world has come to".
