So, a few people here, myself included, have this crazy-ass theory that maybe hearts are recycled in KH, as in reincarnation. We know Kindgom Hearts is the source from which all hearts spring and to which all hearts eventually return. We also know that the Princesses of Hearts hearts are the fragments of light from the shattered x-Blade and that Princesses age according to the laws of time in their worlds, as Kairi proves. Now, how could the Princesses of Heart been around from the end of the Keyblade War up to now  if they age? The answer, Reincarnation, the Ansem Reports state the death does indeed exist in KH, "When the soul leaves the body, life gives way to death" so when a body dies, I believe the heart is sent to Kingdom Hearts, wiped clean of all memories, then sent to be reborn into a new vessel.
it has been posited that perhaps Xehanort is the 6th Foreteller, and this would make what Young Xehanort said about Master Xehanort's Keyblade being the "most ancient" ,especially if he somehow recovered the memories of his past life. Pandy Monum expanded on this theory by suggesting that all the Foretellers have been reborn into the current world. Anguis as Aqua, Leopardos as Ven, Unicornis as Riku, Ursus as Terra and Vulpeus as Kairi and I can see why.

Namely that, as a PoH, Kairi's heart did not exist pre-Keyblade War and therefore cannot have ever belonged to Vulpeus and personally i think it would be more likely for Ursus to be Aeleus and Unicornis to be Eraqus, Ursus because of their builds and Unicornis because of the association they bot share with light (unicorns are often a symbol of purity, which in turn is associated with light)

Sure there are holes, but that's why it' a theory and not fact. I'd be very interested to hear your opinions on the matter.

I sincerely doubt any writer worth their own salt just plain doesn't know that reincarnation is a religious thing, but I see your point. Maybe it's just me that can't separate the religious aspect of it, because everyone else seems okay with the theory. It's just seems so fatalist to me, which is not what Kingdom Hearts as a series is about.

I think it does. Kingdom Hearts is about hearts right. This is basically saying hearts are immortal.

True, but you'd be surprised. Depends on the person and media, some people go back and do research. Others, like say, working on a kids cartoon or a comedy: ''Oh hey this looks like a cool idea lol''

One of the major reasons I don't like BBS, actually. :P Most of the games I like in the series (KH1, CoM, 2, Re:Coded) don't go that route; they heavily feature main characters defying the way things are "supposed" to be- Sora gets the Keyblade back even though it's Riku's, Riku refuses to choose light or dark and chooses the middle path at the end of CoM, Sora and all the good guys overcome Xemnas' wacky plots, Data Sora earns his own heart through his own abilities een though he's just a program.

Most of the games don't go the fate route, at least not that I can tell, and I much prefer it that way.

Inb4 that the KHX Player that we control was none other than the reincarnation of Sora... :P

Not according to Nomura. Nomura made him the main character precisely because he isn't special.

That doesn't make sense! Sora is the main character, so he's special, end of story!

It doesn't have to make sense, Nomura's word is law.

That's the joke we've been making, because Sora is so un-special, he is extremely special. But Nomura says he isn't special, meaning no matter what we say, he isn't.

That's actually not possible, as the theory states that the current characters are the reincarnations, you can't die in the future and reincarnate yourself in the past.

I like the idea of fate in the games, because it adds realism. There seems to be a sort of forge-your-own-fate theme in a number of them.

Actually that last bit about Chi was just poking fun at it because I feel like it's whole existence feels so far removed from the KH series' roots, it tries to make the story much more grander than it needs to be, and the fact that it started out as a simple web browser game based on KH lore and yet is now becoming more important with each new update and everytime something from Chi wriggles its way into the KH games we all have access to, it feels forced and tacked on. Like Chi is the snotty nosed stinky kid at the playground that your mom makes you and your friends play with because she doesn't want him to feel left out. The series was doing pretty fine (using that term a bit loosely when considering later entries) and then Chi comes along to throw in a slew of what feels to me like unnecessary plot points. That's why I joked about why would we want to connect Chi to the already established story. Admittedly it's hard to pick up the humor in my original statement so that was my fault. Shoulda added an emoticon :P

Ah, my apologies then.

He probably meant it the other way aroundRegardelss, I don't think he is our chi character in reincarnated because that would make him somewhat special, which he isn't. Though Nomura did say that Sora was always destined to wield the Keyblade and all Ven's heart did was expedite the process, and later give him Synch Blade. Being a wielder in a past life could be why he was always destined for it, or it could just be that he had the makings already.

KHx happens in the past dude, Just before the first Keyblade War, watch the playthrough I sent you, you'll see.Regardelss, I don't think he is our chi character in reincarnated because that would make him somewhat special, which he isn't. I know hon, that's what I said. KHx happens in the past, the guy I quoted said that the character you play as in KHx is the reincarnation of Sora. How could that character be the reincarnation of Sora if Chi takes place in the past and Sora is from the future?

Haha no worries

Inb4 Sora is the reincarnation of the creator of the tome of prophecies.

Inb4 Sora is the reincarnation of Ephemera.

Inb4 Sora is the reincarnation of a normal boy from the past.

the only thing i got out of this was "riku is a unicorn"

Makes sense. Still I wish Chi was overseas just to understand the characters themselves. (And not watch on YT)
