We took a short hiatus this summer and will be starting up again with a slightly fresh start.  Events have already taken place, but I'll happily provide a recap for those who would like to join back up again.  During our hiatus we have a lot of the same cast, but have also lost a couple of very special players in like.  If you're interested in joining we'd love to have you!  Please review the rules and post your character sheet.  Thanks!

 

This RP was inspired by Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Once Upon a Time.  After Vanitas enacted a curse, all characters--villains and heroes alike--were sent to the real world where they lived new lives, without even a single memory of their past selves.

 

It all started when the heroes were trying to prevent Ultimecia from casting this curse, leading them to break into her castle . . . .

 

“Is this it?” Lightning bent over and examined a scroll tied with a red ribbon on a pedestal in Ultimecia’s tower.  The wind roared around them, blowing the curtains rapidly, the dim gray sunset casting whatever little light existed within the room.  Locke walked over to her, taking the tiny scroll from her hands and examining it.  Eventually he nodded.  “It must be.  Yen Sid told us that it would be here.”

 

“But what do we do with it?” Lightning inquired.  But before Locke could answer, the doors to the tower burst open, and in strode Ultimecia.  The tall woman’s eyes casually swept the room, meeting the two heroes’ gazes unflinchingly.

 

“Well, well,” she said, drawling, “it looks like the savior and the treasure hunter failed their friends after all.  You didn’t expect me already, did you?”

 

Both Lightning and Locke looked at each other.  The scroll remained in Locke’s fist, but there was no use hiding it: Ultimecia already knew it was there.  The sorceress sent Lightning flying into a wall with an aerial spell as she proceeded on to the poor thief.  “Now then, I will give you options.” She looked mercilessly into his eyes, her cold ones bearing down into his.  “Either you can give me the scroll without a fight, or I could kill that one first”--she smiled ruefully--”whichever calls out to you most.”

 

“Think again, lady!”

 

Locke let out a rattled breath of relief, looking over Ultimecia’s shoulder.  She whipped around to see Ventus, grinning widely, the mini scroll clenched in his fist.  The woman rose, turning to Ventus stonily.  “Be careful with that, boy.  You’re meddling in very dark magic that you don’t know how to control.”

 

“Well, lucky for you”--the boy’s grin widened, and for a moment his eyes flickered golden--”I actually do know how to use this dark magic.  And unlike these dufuses, I’m not afraid to use it.”

 

Suddenly everyone’s heart sank within the room.  Lightning slowly rose, groaning as she extended a hand toward their ally.  “Ven--”

 

The boy laughed, a merciless cold laugh that sent chills down her spine.  “Guess what, Light?  I’m not Ven.  I  never was.  It was all too easy to use you guys to get me into this place, and now, now I have what I want.”  He tore off the red ribbon and unrolled the scroll, his eyes skimming it longingly.  “Now I finally get to go home.”

 

“Not how you think!” Ultimecia shouted.  “It’s darker than you could even imagine.  It will take you to that world, yes, but you will lose everything to do it.”

 

Again the boy smiled, shaking his head.  “That’s the point: I don’t have anything to lose.”

 

With that, he unrolled the scroll and blew on it, sending its words off the page and into the room.  A cloud of smoke infiltrated the air, and for a moment all was perfectly still.

 

But only for a brief moment, before chaos struck.  The winds picked up, almost to the point that it caused the Ven-look-alike to lose his balance.  It threw Locke off his feet and knocked Lightning back into the wall, now unconscious.

 

“What’s happening?!”  Locke demanded, glaring from the boy to Ultimecia.  The sorceress clutched her chest, eyes downcast and breathing hard.

 

“Everything . . . will be stripped of us.  Our homes, our memories.  Everything that matters.”

 

Before another word could be uttered, a clap of thunder roared, and this is where you are, and where you’ve been for as long as you can remember:

 

Destiny Beach.

 

You live in a city located alongside the coast of Florida.  You’ve been here for as long as you can remember, and you cannot remember a thing beforehand.  However, you don’t even notice that you don’t remember, nor do you care.  Everything is how it’s always been, and magic is nothing more than a fantasy.  Some of you are now doctors, shopkeepers, secretaries, teachers, and some of you still can’t find your place in the world.  Everything stayed this way for a time, until the boy who could unlock the secret--and the spell--arrives on Destiny Beach.

 

For a few rules:

 

1.) No Godmodding (this includes controlling or killing another person's character)

2.) No speedhacking (don't land blows on another person's character until they respond, et cetera)

3.) Follow the RP rules and guidelines stickied to this forum

4.) No duplicate characters (meaning two people can’t be Sora, et cetera)

5.) Pairings and romance are fine, but no yaoi or yuri, please

6.) Keep everything PG-13.  I can understand some swearing and violence every now and again, but no explicit scenes, gore, sexual themes, or language that needs this @#$%! done to it. : P

7.) Please be sure that your posts contain a minimum of four lines.  I won’t bite anyone if they do it once in a while, but short posts are difficult to work with and it means more work for the other players communicating with that player.

 

Now, for the characters: you may choose up to three Final Fantasy or Kingdom Hearts characters, provided that they play a significant role in the series (like, well, don’t choose the unnamed bartender) and that they aren’t already taken.  As character roles fill I will be listing them in this main thread here, so please be sure to refer to it before creating any character sheets. There will be some special roles for certain characters that I will outline and guide through the RP (Sora, Vanitas, Lightning, Ventus, Locke, and Ultimecia, to name a few), but beyond that it’s pretty free reign.  Please fill out the character sheet below:

With barely enough cash to live on and no job, Tiffany searches franticly for work. She helps out with local orphans, partly cause she thinks it's a good thing to do, and partly 'cause she can use it on a resume.

Tiffany is happy-go-lucky, energetic, loyal, smart, a little klutzy, and spirited.

Lukas is short­tempered, aggressive, blunt and stands his ground, He can be arrogant, confident, and cocky. However when he is with his friends in good company, he can be happy, cheerful, kind, and at ease. Taken away from his parents when he was a toddler, Lukas lives in a group home with quite a bit of other kids. Due to his short temper he doesn't have much friends and he often fights with most of the kids in his group home. He hates living there and finds solace in going to school only so he can freely hang out with his best friend Flint (Riku). He secretly has a crush on another classmate of his, who is Aeria (Xion). In school he often gets himself into trouble by picking fights in which Flint usually has to bail him out. He hates another former classmate Maverick who bullies him mercilessly. He often sneaks out of his house and either sneaks into Flint's house to stay over, or to go skateboarding outside. Despite Lukas's aggressiveness and his few minor criminal records, truthfully he has a huge heart and will do anything to protect his friends even if he can't protect himself.

Destiny Beach name: Sophia Minuto

Appearance: Just how Aqua looks in the picture without the sweater and a blue blouse insead. I really couldn’t find a better picture let alone a face claim/shot

Current occupation: Secretary for the Sheriff and volunteer at the orphanage organization (didn't know the actual name of the organization)

Destiny Beach backstory and personality: Sophia comes from a humble family in the nicer side of Destiny Beach. Being an only child Sophia developed a longing for siblings when she was younger which morphed into a love for children. Because of this Sophia has been volunteering any way that she can to help orphans and children in need. Currently she works as a partner and assistant to Terrance, the Sheriff of Destiny Beach. She loves him dearly. In terms of personality, Sophia is a very strong responsible woman who would do anything it takes to protect those she cares about. She is also a great mother figure, and her friendliness and compassion often causes people to open up to her.

Both are accepted!  However, As Carolina mentioned above, Locke already has the name Skylar.  So, well, we could leave it as-is and confuse everyone half to death, or one of us could change the name of our character.  I'm cool with it either way, though prefer not to change Locke's name if possible.  I have a thing for the name Skylar and thought it suited his personality well.  Other than that, these character sheets look great; excellent work, Aqua!  Also, congrats on attending the prom!  Was it a magical night where you dreaded the clock striking Midnight? : D

That was really embarrassing ^^' That was the result of me being going to sleep at 7 in the morning.I changed it now, let me know if it's okay. Also, would it be a good idea to post the actual character's name before the Destiny name at first to make it easier to memorize everyone's Destiny Island name in the beginning? He also shares an undying loyalty to his close friends.

 

(Im slightly inclined to RP Cid as a math teacher , i'l give it some more thought.)

Also I think Cid would be a great Gym teacher. He has that sorta like physical education thing about him. Math would make sense too, since he's a pilot/engineer and a lot of math goes into it.

Wait- WOODSHOP. Cid would be so great as a woodshop teacher omg. He could lecture everyone about being safe and not be stupid. My vote is either woodshop or gym, but chose whatever you'd like obviously. There's plenty of teachers who reach different subjects during the day so you might even be able to have Cid teach two subjects. My woodshop teacher teaches both woodshop and architecture.

 

Also as with Oblivion said, I think doing that whole name thing would be great to prevent confusion and aggravation. That way if we forget someone's name we won't have to search trough the character sheets to find it. Also I think Mystic should put the Destiny Island names next to the character names on the characters taken list that way it'll be easier to refer back to and remember what names has been taken and who has what names instead of looking through everyone's sigh-up sheet.

Guidance counselors basically help students with their sceduel, college applications and whatnot. They're the person you go to if you need to switch classes and stuff. The mainly however exist to act as a sort of therapist too kinda. Some people go to their guidance counselors just to talk about stuff that has been going on, their problems, etc.On another note, I just watched some more episodes today of Once Upon a Time. (Spoilers ahead)I just finished Emma and Snow getting back to Stortbrooke with Cora and Hook getting there as well through Hook's bean. I really hate Mulan I'm sorry. I just hate how bland she is in the show. She's also kinda rude. I really hated how she wanted to trade the compass for Aurora because the real Mulan would've had found a way to save Aurora and keep the compass. I understand this isn't the actual Mulan from the movie but still. I hope she gets better and actually develops more. She is so bland and she acts like she always has a 12 foot pole up her bottom.

Sorry, guys.  I was really off and on throughout the weekend.  I'm going to focus on getting the RP thread up today and will post a link here once I do so.  I'm still waiting for Noel's player along with another potential player that I know personally who may join, but I'm thinking to go ahead and let the ball roll beforehand so as not to keep everyone waiting.

It's not a problem, really. : )  If anything I thought it was pretty cool that we thought similarly yet again and chose the same name!  Lukas sounds great, and accepted.  Regarding putting their names as a header to the post, that is a terrific idea, and one that we should certainly implement.  I'll add this instruction at the heading of the RP and probably insert it into the rules.  Thank you so much for the suggestion because, yes, it could otherwise become *very* confusing.

Accepted!  It'll be quite nice to see an Auron here.  You're welcome to take on Cid if you'd like, though I'm partly wondering which Cid you're considering.  Either way, the choice is yours, though on another note the school will not be a major plot point in the overall picture of the RP, but rather a sub one.

 

Also, I heard back from Noel's player and Zack is indeed taken.  Sorry about that!

Also I think Cid would be a great Gym teacher. He has that sorta like physical education thing about him. Math would make sense too, since he's a pilot/engineer and a lot of math goes into it.
Wait- WOODSHOP. Cid would be so great as a woodshop teacher omg. He could lecture everyone about being safe and not be stupid. My vote is either woodshop or gym, but chose whatever you'd like obviously. There's plenty of teachers who reach different subjects during the day so you might even be able to have Cid teach two subjects. My woodshop teacher teaches both woodshop and architecture.

Also as with Oblivion said, I think doing that whole name thing would be great to prevent confusion and aggravation. That way if we forget someone's name we won't have to search trough the character sheets to find it. Also I think Mystic should put the Destiny Island names next to the character names on the characters taken list that way it'll be easier to refer back to and remember what names has been taken and who has what names instead of looking through everyone's sigh-up sheet.

I'm definitely going to implement your suggestion of placing the character name before each post, because otherwise, yes, it will be a mad house of confusion and scrambling to refer back to the sign-up sheets.  Also, in the actual RP thread, I was going to create a "cast" section listing the character, their real-world name, alongside their occupation for ease of reference.  I suppose I could put their two names here in the sign-ups as well but thought that it seemed rather insignificant here since the odds of choosing the same name were slim.  Apparently not as slim as I thought, but even still it will probably be a rarity.  Since I'm about to switch over to the main RP thread later today I think I may leave it as-is for now to spare some time, though I may just copy-paste the sheet over there to the main message over here later.

 

Guidance counselors basically help students with their sceduel, college applications and whatnot. They're the person you go to if you need to switch classes and stuff. The mainly however exist to act as a sort of therapist too kinda. Some people go to their guidance counselors just to talk about stuff that has been going on, their problems, etc.

On another note, I just watched some more episodes today of Once Upon a Time. (Spoilers ahead)

I just finished Emma and Snow getting back to Stortbrooke with Cora and Hook getting there as well through Hook's bean.
I really hate Mulan I'm sorry. I just hate how bland she is in the show. She's also kinda rude. I really hated how she wanted to trade the compass for Aurora because the real Mulan would've had found a way to save Aurora and keep the compass. I understand this isn't the actual Mulan from the movie but still. I hope she gets better and actually develops more. She is so bland and she acts like she always has a 12 foot pole up her bottom.

 

Oh my gosh, words cannot define how much I *hate* Mulan.  She is the worst character with terrible development, and her personality!  What's with it?  She can't be polite, or kind, or think outside the box of her needs very easily.  Sure, eventually she starts to care for *one* other person, but does so at the cost of hurting so many others, so again it's horrendously selfish.  I wish that I could say she improves with time, but no; she only gets far worse until they stop showing her entirely.  I wish I could tell you something that happens, but it would definitely be a huge spoiler and I should let you find it for yourself.  It's just downright strange and ruined my view of Mulan as a whole.  It would seem that we really do think alike, Aqua. : P  I'm very glad to hear that I'm not the only Mulan-hater out there.

Of course! I'm sorry.When at work, Nicole dresses in a business suit, full with tie, suit, shirt, dress pants, and dress shoes. She wears her hair back in a ponytail when at work, and she lets it down most of the time when she is not. When not working, she dresses casually, usually a white tank and khakis, with flip flops.
