Let's say for the sake of argument....

First of all, I am very well aware that Disney would NEVER in a million years allow this, but...

Hypothetically speaking, if Sora and Riku do come out as gay...how would their friends react? I mean, I'm sure they'd be accepting (Not sure about Donald, though).

Mickey and Goofy would be surprised, but happy for their friends

Kairi would be happy for them (though a little disappointed that Sora wouldn't be able to recipricate her feelings for him), and would offer to be their surrogate if they ever want to have kids.

Donald....um...well...I'm torn. I personally think he would be least accepting. I don't know why, I just do.

What do you guys think?

what friends

If Sora and Riku come out as gay, then a celebration is in order.

I feel Donald will be the most shocked, but understanding in the end. :P He may have a temper, but I don't think he would hate on his friend for it.
Other than that, you have a reasonable description of what everyone else would think. I don't see them reacting in any other way.

Yen Sid will be like: yes, truly they are Keyblade Masters because (insert philosophical and magical quote)

EDIT: Just a personal take on this situation, if it happened, I would like it to be optional instead, like you make a choice or something xD Just me thinking aloud.

I don't think anything of it because it'll never happen.

Sora and Riku don't even come off as gay, Naruto and Sasuke would be a better example but this... You been on Fanfic.net?

Of course it will never happen. The only reason people think Sora and Riku are gay is because they're best friends and because Sora fell to his knees and cried when he found him. If I was looking for a friend who has been lost for a year, I'd fall to my knees and cry too.

^ This. Sora didn't know where Riku was. For all he knew, Riku could have been dead. He knew that Kairi was okay, but knew nothing about Riku. That's why he cried when he realised it was him.Peace!

Exactly. Sora and Riku are just best friends. As for Sora and Kairi...THELUCKYCHARMANDTHEPAOPUDRAWING

It doesn't appear that "Gay" or "Straight" exists in the Kingdom hearts universe. There is obviously some way to reproduce, as there are children, but no couples beyond the Princesses seem to exist.

However, everyone would probably be upset at first, then accept the new couple and life would move on.The awkward first dates in Traverse Town would happen.Yay.

I think some people are taking this a little too seriously.

Personally, I'd be more worried about the fanbase. It wouldn't be pretty, that's for sure.

Assuming that sexuality is even a thing in Kingdom Hearts.

Which it's not.

ahem

even if it wasn't shown, this song s canon to the KH universe

Ahaaaaaa, yeah but seriously, nobody cares about getting laid in KH.

If Sora and RIku are totally gay for each other, I volunteer to be Kairi's romantic interest, where I can then develop her as a character so the fanbase can stop hating on her.

Also do some other things that are completely not in the PG-13 ratings... I'd probably redefine the "A" rating xD

This topic disturbs me probably because the idea of a preggers kairi disturbs me and all that seems incredibly unlikely

I wouldn't be surprised if they did this to please a certain kind of audience.

Err everyone would be fine with it? Why do people think characters would be upset lmao? They aren't there to represent the real world. Everyone ingame would be very ok with it.

Why do people think getting laid and being in-love is the same? Everytime there's a topic about relationships in KH this comes up. Did all the characters in Disney movies who fall in-love with each other just wanted to get laid?

Come now, this is a Square game as much as it is a Disney game. Both have romance in their games/movies. I don't know why people think it's not possible to happen in KH.

Some people don't know what "Hypothetical" means clearly...

My thoughts about this matter personally....I would approve. And your description of how others would react is very reasonable and quite accurate. :)

And I'm a little tired of the same things being said.... "KH isn't about love." "Love has no place in KH." "No one's concerned about getting laid."

Things in video games DO change. Hell, Nomura may wake up one day in KH3's development and just think: "Hey, how about I have Sora and Riku be a couple? That'll please certain fans and I could do it very well!" (The last part was a comment on my part as I believe if he did do it, he'd do it well.)

Maybe even Disney might approve. You never know, times are changing for the better.

Still, this is just a hypothetical scenario. So we have yet to see if it'll come close to achieving fruition.

There's a difference between making changes and throwing things off the f*cking loop, Kunivas.KH is a JRPG series about teenagers (key word teenagers) who only care about friendship. Not about getting some. It's not a dating simulator.Maybe if there was some more attention thrown in that direction, and maybe if the Disney characters weren't apart of the franchise (because seriously, how the hell are you gonna push this kind of mentality with all these anthros and princesses running around?) then it could happen, but KH has been set in its ways since the jump.

Well, first off, it was a joke to go off the previous comment. I actually don't like the "in-love = sex" mentality either.Second, what I mean is: KH is not a series that incorporates these types of things. The characters who are able to have sexualities and interests and whatnot only care about friendship and nothing else. Even the closest thing to a relationship of that caliber, that being Sora and Kairi, is more interpreted as them being really close friends, or if you really want to stretch it, a psuedo brother/sister relationship.

Of course it will never happen. The only reason people think Sora and Riku are gay is because they're best friends and because Sora fell to his knees and cried when he found him. If I was looking for a friend who has been lost for a year, I'd fall to my knees and cry too.

Well, that's one version of a Soriku fan. They blow things way out of proportion, including the part where Sora is carrying Riku at the end of KH2. They think Sora is touching Riku's butt when he's actually holding his belt..  -.-  It's annoying, honestly.

I'm a Soriku fan, myself. Let me just say that not all of us ship them together for those reasons.  :P

Do you ship them because you like to ship them?

Do you ship them because you like to ship them?

Ehhh, I suppose so.

I, personally, ship them because they're "like two peas in a pod." They're a good team, and just fit well with each other, in my opinion. They're still my OTP, but I don't like them as much as I used to.

I prefer SoKai, but I understand if SoRiku is your OTP.

Yeah, no worries.  :) We all have our own opinions.
