Tales of Zestiria is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 in addition to PlayStation 3, Bandai Namco have announced.

 

The game will be available on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on October 16th across Europe, Australasia, and the Middle-East. In North America, the game will be available on consoles on October 20th, and in Brazil on October 23rd. The PC release (via Steam) will also be available on October 20th.

 

“The Tales of series continues to connect with RPG fans searching for a pure Japanese role-playing experience,” Herve Hoerdt, Vice President of Marketing & Digital at Bandai Namco Europe said.

 

“With the high adoption rate of the current generation of consoles and continued popularity of the PC platform, we are more than excited to be able to port Tales of Zestiria to the PlayStation 4 system and Steam exclusively for Western fans across the Americas and Europe. Players will now be able to choose which platform they want to experience the Tales of Zestiria adventure on!”

When was it leaked? I don't really remember ever hearing any leaked news about Zestiria coming to PS4. But I did hear rumors about it. But in any case, wheather it's "slow" or not it's good to hear it from Namco that it's coming to PS4/PC along side the PS3 version. I was going to get it on PS3 but now I am dead set on gettung it for my PS4 since it needs more JRPG love.

And anyway, PS4 will have an amazing catalogue of JRPGs at the end of 2017. Perhaps even better than the PSOne days.

I for once had no idea, and I'd like to thank @Tails for this.

I'm glad we FINALLY got the release date for the game. Based on the trailer, it seems like it's probably going to be one of the best "Tales of" games yet.

Dragon Quest Heroes comes first for me.

And now to wait for the people to get angry because Alisha's dlc side episode is still dlc and not part of the whole game.

 

I prefer to wait for Tales of Berseria or The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 instead of waiting for Zestiria. Unless they put the Alisha episode in the full game.

I think I'll still get it on PS3 unless the PC version has significant improvements and the DLC is included. (Don't have a PS4, so definitely wouldn't get that version.) Plus, I've got quite a collection of Tales stuff, and I assume the PC release will be digital only so it wouldn't really be as satisfying, I want that case on my shelf with all the others.

Ah, I didn't see that, thanks! Hmm, if its on Steam then I suppose there's always the possibility it will get a major discount down the line... Might be worth it depending on the improvements it makes, or if it gets some cool mods or something (note: not really knowledgeable about how mods work, so I don't really know of modding would be possible on this game...).
