That was part of a speech Ansem SoD gave in KH1. He was talking about Riku, and how he gave into the darkness to go see other worlds.

 

Now, who else is this speech referring to? If you played Birth by Sleep, you would know that someone else had left the island. Someone who, like Riku, wanted to see other worlds. Xehanort.

 

It's pretty funny to see the similarities between the two, and how Ansem SoD's speech in KH1 can be connected to both Riku and Xehanort since they both wanted to see the world beyond their island home.

It makes even more sense when you take into account the thought of Master Xehanort's heart being in Ansem's.

It's funny when you think about it, because they didn't have this big crazy story planned out then, so this is quite coincidental.

 

Still, clever due to it. Makes sense too. 

Well Ansem is the heartless of Terra-Xehanort. Of course he would say similar things.
