Who else is in or plans to get in on the "Tales Of" series?

Posted

I got into the series last year and I gotta say it's been really amazing! After finishing Tales of Xillia , and Tales of Xillia 2 I can't wait to play/finish Tales of Graces f, and Tales of Symphonia. I'm also quite hyped for Tales of Zestiria, and Tales of Berseria which has an awesome protagonist. So who else here is in the series? :)

I want to get into the series but I have no idea where to start.

I've seen an HD remake of a tales game but I can't remember which one.

I might try that out, but if you have any better suggestions I'd be glad to hear.

Start with Tales of Xillia and it's sequel. Great games and easy to learn. All entries with different names are their own universe and have no connection to past games unless they're a sequel.

Sweet! TIP: With the first Tales of Xillia, play Jude's side first and Milla's second. Milla's side reveals lots of twists that make more since after playing Jude's side.

Wow, awesome. I don't know why but that tip really got me excited for the games.Currently playing FFXIII and FFX/X-2, so I have my hands full.I'll try and finish them as fast as possible. Thank you.

I heard it is a good series and I might get into it soon enough. Let's hope I can keep a promise!

Oh I see. But dude, Tales is also a very solid JRPG series.

Always awesome seeing some love for the Tales series. :)I got my start with Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube. It was actually the game that first got me into video games.I never would have played Kingdom Hearts if it hadn't been for ToS.There's a remastered version of ToS out for PS3 which also includes the sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (originally for Wii).I also highly recommend Tales of the Abyss for PS2 and Tales of Vesperia for Xbox 360.

I'm gonna play all those except for Versperia since I refuse to play Xbox. I'm very hyped for Berseria cause Velvet looks really cool.

That's too bad. :( Vesperia is probably my second favorite under Symphonia. There is a PS3 version of it, but it's Japan-only. I know some fans were trying to make a patch for it at one point. Not sure how far along it is. For all I know, Namco might eventually try to localize it. They've had plenty of games brought to America extremely late. But I won't hold my breath.Berseria looks pretty cool. :) Can't wait to learn more about it.

They're insane for ever making it an Xbox 360 exclusive in the first place. That's not were their fanbase is. Hopefully they'll do a PS4 port.

I've recently been getting into the Tales of series, and it's amazing! I have finished Tales if Xillia and its sequel, I am currently playing through Graces f and doing a playthrough of the PS3 version if Symphonia with my friend whenever he comes to visit. So far all the games are truly fantastic, it was definitely a great decision to play them! :D

I got into Tales in 2012 with Tales of the Abyss 3DS! It was the RPG I never knew I really wanted; I fell in love with the battle system, and the characters, and the storyline. Abyss became my hands down favorite game (and the only game that's even come close has been Persona 4). So I did two play throughs of Abyss back to back, then bought Vesperia. Vesperia has a suuuper slow start (like, the first 7-8 hours are a terrible slog), so I took a break from playing. Came back a month or two later, then did two back to back play throughs of that.

And now I've played Abyss, Vesperia, Symphonia, Symphonia 2, Xillia, Xillia 2, Graces f, and Hearts R. Plus I own Legendia, but it's generally one of the least liked in the series, and I need a break every time I finish a Tales game (and I just finished Hearts). I've also got the PS3 Symphonia remakes, but seeing as they were the two I liked least (not that they're bad, they're just my least favorites) I've not found the motivation to play through them again.

I got into the Tales series about a year ago. I first tales game was Tales of graces and I guess it is an okay game and then when I eventually got to play tales of the abyss, I LOVED it that's when I really became a fan of the series. I played though most of the 3d tales games except for Destiny 2, Legendia, and Vespiria. I plan on playing Tales of Vespiria soon. :)

Well, I have to thank you about that.Time to save up money.

Amazing games!

IKR? I have no idea why people hate FFXIII so much. Sure it's not the best game but it is really cool.I currently am at the start of Chapter 12 if I recall correctly with Lightning, Fang and Hope as my team.

Your very welcome!

I'll never know why people hate XIII so much. It's a darn shame. I personally loved the trilogy.

Make sure you play the sequels!

Lightning Returns was my first FF game and I loved it. I have to admit that it was way better than FFXIII. I don't know if I'll play XIII-2. I've seen the cutscenes and only playing as Serah, Noel and the monsters doesn't really interest me. >.>

I've been enjoying the first game so far,

I only watched the cutscenes of XIII-2 and got really confused.

Okay, I'll try.

I just recently got Xillia 1 and 2 in a sale. Haven't played a whole lot of Xillia, but I like what I've played so far. It's my first game in the series, and I definitely plan on getting some of the other games once I finish those two!
