It strikes me that we've had a couple indications in the games that suggest Xehanort is actively encoraging Disney villains to antagonize Sora and the like, with the most explicit being Ursula a the start of DDD, but also Maeficent's outright admittance in DDD that Xehanort was directing her

combine that with Maleficent feeling a shift in the darkness of the KH universe

I think we're pretty likely to see an organized group of Disney villains again, which is pretty nice. Makes sense that a lot of worlds aren't returning, since most of their villains are

To be honest, I think people are getting bored fighting Ursula and Maleficent. I want to fight new villains. Nomura confirms almost all worlds will be new, so my dream will be realized. That being said, Maleficent will still be pulling the strings as far as Disney villains go. Can't wait to see who she's teaming up with.

Almost like it's a, y'know, Keyblade War.

Having the Disney villains working together would add so much meaning to the Disney Worlds instead of just "go there and kill some heartless bro".But one thing for sure, if Maleficent (or any other Disney baddie) is the final boss I am going to flip.

I'm so glad that you think that. And come to think about it, we can take it one step further! what if Master Xehanort and Maleficent both work together to have their own 13 Seekers Of Darkness? Really think about it, How was Ursula revived? before KHChi, we assumed she was a mirage, but now that the Book Of Prophecies has been introduced, it makes more sense that she was reincarnated from The Book Of Prophecies. To add to that, she just vanished with a smile, "KH3D Ursula was never defeated per say". So, here is how I propose "The League Of Disney Villains" aka "The Disney 13 Seekers of Darkness" will be recreated.

Remember how Maleficent appeared in The Nightmare Before Christmas for Kingdom Hearts 2? well, that isn't Maleficent's world yet she played an integral role for re-imagining that movie in the Kingdom Hearts Universe. We can still have new villains but also have older villains working alongside them.

Around last year I think, I did theorize that Maleficent could form her own 13 darknesses to create the X-Blade with whoever the 13 seekers of darkness aren't targeting.

 

If this whole thing were to happen, I desperately wish that Mickey would be Maleficent's 13th member, BUT his mind would be switched with Julius! Let that sink in for a minute. It could have been hinted when we see Julius as the only secret boss in DDD.

I can already see Gothel discussing with Maleficent and others.

Or Governor would be perfect. But I think that was just cause KH1 was the beginning.

Yes. People are. I've heard constant complaining about the repetition of worlds and this is no different. She's a boss battle in half the KH games so it's getting a little old.

I'm also eager to see how Disneys new movie plays in. Disney made a new movie, which has the characters of descendants of popular Disney villains. Which means CAMEOS.

I've heard about this theory for a while now, and the more I hear about it, the more I love it!  Not only will Sora and friends face Xehanort and the True Organization XIII, but they'll also have to watch out for Maleficent and her own group of baddies!  I'm betting that most of the villains in her group would be from new worlds, with the slightly off chance that one or two old villains from the series return. I'd welcome the idea of ridiculous odds to overwhelm our heroes!

And will inevitably be stopped again. I feel as though her operation will be more associated with the Disney worlds than in the main KH timeline even with the Book of Prophecies. But I do agree she is the best Disney villain so any other villain they bring in can't necessarily take her place.

Hopefully, Disney will encourage Square Enix to use the more popular Disney villains as characters more integral plot devices for Kingdom Hearts 3 in comparison to the previous series.
