WHat Control Scheme Do You Prefer?

Wow I didn't even know that it was different like that in the Japanese version. Considering I'm in America and that I'm used to the English version I'd very much prefer the English version.

Wow, surprisied you never knew this. But yeah, the JPN/Final Mix versions of the KH games (at least on Playstation consoles) have a opposite control scheme from the ENG version. But it's pretty much like that with all Japanese games that are on Playstation consoles in case you didn't know that either.

Well whatever Control Scheme it is, I can adapt to it. So I don't mind too much. :)

I actually had little trouble adapting myself to the japanese scheme  even though I still played KH2 on my old ps2 until the .5 releases, so either way works.

Definitely the JP controls. O to attack and X to Jump is perfect.

I have always preferred the western control scheme.  It always takes me hours to adjust to games like FFVII that have it that way (because I am too lazy to change the control scheme :P

I prefer the English way because that's what I'm used to. If they changed it so that new games kept the Japanese style, I'd probably get mixed up for the first few battles, but then adapt fairly quickly.

Well since I don't play Japanese games that don't have English subs or dubs, I end up being used to the English version of a game and can only play that way.

I think I prefer the English one, although I just started a BBSFM playthrough and I do keep getting them mixed up =P. Since PS4 can do custom button mapping, I'd be interested in seeing if perhaps a different configuration altogether is better for KH3.

I prefer the English control scheme, as it's what I'm used to most of the time. Although I have to admit I have gotten fairly used to the Japanese controls as well, not that different other than "use O instead of X" and vise versa. In some ways, it kind of fits my Sony upbringing where my natural instinct is going to have me use X to jump rather than O which is typically an attack or action button. I never understood the difference, but I suppose in Japan they consider O a positive mark and X a negative mark, but since the X is blue we consider it positive and we consider the red O negative. At least, that's what I think. Either way, I much prefer the English method much better, because as natural as it is to use X to jump, it feels a million times better to use X to select, considering how the menus make up more than 50% of your gameplay experience. Although the Triangle button isn't really affected that much, I do hope that KH3 will still allow me to use the Triangle button as much as previous games (X button for Nintendo systems), which might be difficult without any Reaction Commands or Deck Commands. After many years, the Triangle/X button has become my best friend in the series, so I still hope it will be receiving some attention in KH3.

I prefer the English control scheme, because any button can be used to jump. I don't care if the jump button is X, circle, triangle, or even square, but if the button used for selecting icons on a menu I can't really imagine using any button except X.

It took a while to get used to the jpn birth by sleep fm version but once i did i prefered it to the U.S version. Besides with most games your supposed to press x to jump and o to hit

At first I found the O to jump to be weird, but now I can't have it any other way. Which is funny because on the GBA/DS/3DS it is B to jump... I think for the Playstation the X button just feels right to attack, for me any ways.

i prefer the english layout. in any other action JRPG, if possible, i change the controls to be similar to KH's layout just because it's what i prefer

Jumping with X is conventional with American made games, but I've been pressing O for KH for so long it feels natural now.
