Got a tablet, which Square Enix game should I play first?

Featured Replies

Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV, Final Fantasy V, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions, Final Fantasy Record Keeper, Final Fantasy Portal App, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. All in HD.

Yeah...basically, what Sora96 said, lmao! xD But yeah, the App Store has quite the FF game library! :D

Pretty sure he has Android.

Oh, then in this case, it's the Play Store then! :3

Anyway, iOS & Android have giant libraries from Square Enix.

Final Fantasy 1-7, 8 likely in 2016.

FFIV: The After Years, FF Dimensions, FF Portal App (with Triple Triad), FF Tactics: The War of the Lions, Crystal Defenders & FF Record Keeper.

SNES classics in Chrono Trigger & Secret of Mana

Dragon Quest I-6 & 8 with 7 later this year and 9 likely in 2016.

TWEWY

New IPs like Chaos Rings, Heavenstrike Rivals, Deadman's Cross, Drakerider and more.

And if you want western stuff, they've also got Hitman & Tomb Raider/Lara Croft.

We also have very exciting titles in Mobius, Tokita's new title, Agito and G-Bike on the way.

Don't play FF AtB. Trust me, and as far as Sora96 said, it was terrible. I would suggest Final Fantasy Record Keeper. It's actually pretty good.

Basically if it's available on the console then that's still my preference, but those tablet only games are sounding really good. Really enjoying Record Keeper.

None of them are "tablet only" you can also play them on smartphones.

None of them are on consoles in HD.

Wait.....they have all those games.....for Tablets? :O

I know, I just mean that I'm just gonna play what I can't play on consoles there. :) TWEWY looks really good. For games that look much better I'll be playing as well. But as for games that play perfectly on consoles like VII, VIII and IX, I'll stick to PS3/4.

So you'll be playing III, IV, V, VI, TAY, Tactics etc on your tablet?

Smartphones & tablets.

Yep. Along with KHUC, FF Record Keeper, and TWEWY. And any other SE games to come.

Could play all the Dragon Quest mainline titles too. Go download the Portal App.

Oh yeah, those too. Pretty much any SE RPG. Yeah I downloaded it. It's pretty sweet.

Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ. Haha kidding. There's a ton of FF games, but I suggest FFRK if anything.

Nah, just half the series with the rest on the way in the next year or two. ;)

Do they have Chrono Trigger available for the tablet?  I'm thinking not, but that would be my first go-to if it were available.  That game is incredibly and perhaps very difficult to get on a console these days.

Otherwise I'd definitely recommend FFIV for the tablet.  That version looks awesome!

In a matter of speaking they do. They ported the DS version to iPhone & Android but there's no iPad/tablet version so you can play it on a tablet but it will be upscaled.

But yes, FFIV does look great. It's how I played it. The iOS & Android versions are a HD remaster of the full 3D remake.

Okay, never mind; scratch the Chrono Trigger idea, then.  Those graphics would be pretty poor if one just upscales the game to play on a tablet and not all too fun, in my opinion.  Still, it's kind of nice that the option is open without having to pay a fortune for it.

Yeah, it's in the same boat as Secret of Mana really. You can't exactly make a HD version of a SNES game without remaking it.
