As we know from some interviews, Nomura has stated that they are considering putting in an online mode for KH3. I'm wondering how they would go about it. Will we have our own characters? Will the online mode be Keyblade duels or will we be able to go around the worlds with friends and have online exclusive stories for them? Personally, I'm not too keen on the idea of an online mode, but if it's the case of the latter, then I'm all for it. What do you guys want from the online mode? It can also apply to future installments if they'll have online modes as well!

If there is gonna be an online mode,it better be soem kind of colliseum like how BBS did it.

I want it basically just like BBS and Days put together. Have a coliseum where you fight with or against friends, and have a separate story mode where you play with friends during certain 'missions' or story episodes like in Days.

Something where Sora, Riku, Kairi, Aqua, Ventus, Terra, Xion, Roxas & Lea are all playable would be nice. Or really just anyone other than Sora and Riku. But I want Kairi most of all lol. 

Honestly, I prefer thinking of Kingdom Hearts III as a single player experience only, but hey, if multiplayer ends up being a part of the game, I'm all up for it!  To me, the multiplayer could be an improved version of the Mirage Arena, with different activities available!

i'd rather they didn't do that and instead focus all their effort into making a great single player experience that i will want to play again and again, simply because it's that enjoyable. i don't want them to split resources and time into a tacked on multiplayer mode that isn't needed. 

I expect it'll be an enhanced version of the mirage arena. That area certainly needed improving so maybe they can make it better for KH3, like having more battle modes. Of course, I don't want them to put too much into the online mode unlike some games. If making the online mode hinders the single player story then they shouldn't bother at all.

I may be in the minority but I don't really care how much longer it takes to develop KH3. I want Square to make the best game possible. So if that means extending the release by several month to add in a great multiplayer feature then so be it.  I want KH3 to be epic! As for what I dream multiplayer to be... I would like two things. 1) a BBS-like mirage arena for fighting against others in the KH fandom. I would like lots of playable characters and areas to fight in. 2) I would like to have large scale co-op missions with friends and/or random KH fans. These missions could span over multiple world and require alot of strategy to complete. These missions could hold massively tough bosses that require multiple people to take down with a co-op strat.

 

Of course the latter idea is probably not going to happen but I can dream...

Focus 100% on a single player experience, rather than focusing on two separate experiences. Kingdom Hearts has always been known for its magical single player experience as opposed to a Multiplayer experience.

KH3 should release with a singleplayer mode ONLY, several months after release an online mode should be put in. How Rockstar did with GTA V.

 

I was thinking an expanded Mirage Arena where we can play AS ALL THE DIFFERENT KH CHARACTERS E.G Xemnas, Lea, RIku etc. This is how I picture it.

 

Something completely far-fetched which could happen is this same thing but with custom characters, keyblades and so on.

 

They could add different game modes for example a heartless/nobody/unversed mode where you can play with 6 other people and have to fight waves of heartless and each wave is stronger than the last. As you go along you get more spells, keyblades and abilities. Every 10 rounds is a Seeker of Darkness boss battle, after the 130th it would repeat the process but this time things would be much harder.
