The random section hasn't ever taken attention away from serious discussions, so I don't think there's a problem with it. No point in being a strict, serious forum. We're all here to have fun, and the Random section helps a lot with that, believe it or not. So long as one type of discussion doesn't take spotlight over the other, I really don't see there being an issue with having both. Getting rid of the Random section would probably affect quite a few people on here.
