Hmm, any piano players around here?

Posted

I'm recently in piano class at school. Its confusing to memorized these notes, these patterns, these symbols. But I have an overwhelming urge to play the piano that I am even asking for a keyboard for my birthday in two weeks. Music sooths the savage beast, that is I suppose why I am so almost in a nice emotion with the piano music. My favorite song in KH, Roxas's theme, theres a piano cover for it. And I don't know if i'll ever be able to do even this repeating sheet of music.

Unfortunately, I am musically challenged, and do not play instruments. However, I actually love listening to people play the piano, especially when they play the KH themes. I'm sure you'll be able to play the Roxas theme, just practice practice practice.

I'm a piano player! My parents got me a keyboard and is wikedly sick and reallly cool. It's hard to get the notes memorized, but when you do get them memorized, you can play mostly any song. And Roxas' theme.I have a music sheet for that.If you're a begginer, that's a pretty god song to begin with.Like SoraKing said.you just need to practice.

I used to play the piano and I was pretty good at it. But then, I was forced to stop about 2 years ago, due to too much school work, Kung Fu (I was a brown belt) basketball ect. Anyways, if you're just starting, like Stardust said, that's pretty much impossible for beginners. My reccomendation is to just practice a lot for piano and you'll eventually become better and better and better, and eventually you'll be able to begin Roxas' theme :D good luck :D :D :D

Thank ye mates, for what I believe were kind words. I am a total beginner. I only remember a few notes and their names, I barely know the meaning to what each freakin' note means, and I understand the first measure oof a estimated 4-5 measured song. (I think thats the right way to notice it as -.-') my Piano teacher at school, he.....tries, literally, to be a stand up comedian. And fails miserably. So I hope I can squeeze some information out of that man.

i play piano, and you should be able to play that with basic grip of letter names. although that piece seems to require you stretch out over the piano much more than any piece i've seen (darn you brilliant square enix music!!!).

if you like piano, you should take lessons. that might make the piece a little bit easier as well

it would take tonnes of practise to master a tricky piece like this, but it would be great to be able to play

Someday i'll be able to. Its my favorite KH song.

I can play the openings to two Skillet songs (just the openings) and I can play Ven's theme. :D Just practice and you'll get better.

I am very skilled at the piano. No offense, but if you haven't had any prior experience I'd suggest sticking to more basic things and work your way up.

If you are ready I'd suggest starting with the right hand and instead of playing the cords, play the highest note in the cords. Then when you have everything set add the next note :)

Just practice and you'll get it soon enough.

Play with the right hand, even if I am left-handed?

I've been playing for...eight years now. When I started I literally just poked random keys lol. But when I went into lessons it wasn't that much different. I don't think you should attempt a song like that until you're up to that level.

And if you really want to, then get synthesia and download some midis for it. There are a lot of songs out there. In fact, I learned Xion's theme using this:

And if you want Roxas' theme, here it is:

I want really badly to play the piano...

But alas, I don't personally own one... and my parents aren't supportive enough of my dreams to part with money to buy me one.

My mother is willing to buy me a keyboard, the cheapest keyboard money can find. For my birthday coming up. I will practice and keep on practicing until I can play both Roxas's theme and the Organization's Theme. My school's piano teacher told us to go to this site to review whatever we had learned in class:

http://www.musictheory.net/

Learning to read notes is easy so far, but it'll get harder. But i'll get better, and even more better when September comes around.

I play (*has a keyboard*), but I play by ear, so I really can't help with sheet music. ^^;;

that seems like a good site, do look over those and it'll help with all music playing

Play with the right hand, even if I am left-handed?

I think that would be appropriate. Your going to need to use both hands anyway. I think It would be best to get your weaker hand out of the way first and then you will easily catch on with your left hand.

I see, then I shall.

I am a great piano player. I started playing when I was eight. Just like you, I had an irresistable urge to play and didn't know why. The notes seemed complicated at first but once you get a "feel" for the keys, playing it will be as easy as doing your everyday regular tasks like doing your hair and such. There's only two ways in how you can learn to play the piano well: patience and practice. What I did when I first started playing is learn the keys (c,d,e, ect.), then once I could understand the sheet music (which didn't take long) I would hit the keys slowly until I got the feel of the "beat". If I messed up, I just kept going and didn't worry about it. The first song I learned on the piano was hello by Evanescence. I messed up a lot at first but once I played it over and over again I was able to hit the piano keys faster and now when I play it, I don't make any mistakes. In the link below, you could tell that this guy had a lot of patience and practice.

There's also a link below his name that will give you sheet music too if you want to read it and go over it. ;)

Hmm strange indeed. I should research upon this. Why I have such an urge for a specific thing, why people in general do. Is it an emotion? An outcome of personality? There must be some calculation to why I have such an urge, such a passion even for piano. I feel like I was meant for it. What is this feeling? A rose within a wasteland? Hmm, pondering evermore. But thank ye for the advice mate, after mt birthday, I shall receive my keyboard and be practicing evermore, but I am looking forward to this? Thats a bad thing. Whenever I get excited and happy for something to happen it fails or doesn't happen at all, and I become sad. So I must be dull, no emotion, don't be happy to receive my gifts this birthday, I must not be happy. Sorry to annoy you.

didn't think you were such an imbecile

i dunno, everyone wants to be fluent at piano playing at some point in there life, and being able to take a piece of paper with dots and circles on it and play any song you want

go with it. get a keyboard, get lessons, get music you like, and it'll work out well

oh cmon, stop pitying yourself and just do it. that's the way i've learned to play the piano too.. and of course you won't make much of a process in the beginning, but that's just the point you'll have to decide whether to continue or to give up.. and i mean, lol, you haven't even STARTED yet :D

thought you were one of the smarter guys here, so come on :0

Oh now your inspirational. Anyways, for your information, theres a thin line between being a genius or insane. Either way, both sides can play piano as well as the other.

i was forced to play piano when i was 9. i was pretty good too but i didn't really enjoy it. after constant whining towards my mother, i convinced her to let me quit piano lessons. i don't even remember how to read the notes or anything.

i kinda regret it now ;--;

I've been playing piano for like....6-7 years? It helps a lot if you take lessons, that way you improve a LOT. Just take your time and start with easy sheet music and progress your way through. I haven't played any Kingdom Hearts sheet music, but I suggest you try something easier before you just start out with something hard. xD Just so you can get fimilar with the notes you know.
