Konami: "Metal Gear Series Can Continue Without Kojima"

Posted

And here's my complete reaction to this:

They seriously think they can make a good MGS game without Kojima? That's hilarious on so many levels. Just take a look at how they developed MG: Acid, MG: Acid 2, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. Those games were made WITHOUT Kojima and they failed hard. Metal Gear Solid is dead everyone. Konami should have just left the series at Phantom Pain. But nope, they got to keep beating on that dead horse.

Let's all just stand by and watch Konami tarnish their name even further by trying to make games without their creative genius.

Lol yup. Konami's going to fail so hard without Kojima.

This is the best joke I've heard all day. X)

My reaction despite I have never played a single MGS game (other than the MGS PS1 demo...)

Of course MG can continue without Kojima. The casuals will be buying the new MG games while the hardcore fans(Kojima fans) won't. Rob is sure some of will try out the 1st non-Kojima MG before trading it in a few days later if its bad.

Sure, but it will have lost all substance.

When Kojima left, he should've taken the Metal Gear rights with him.

I thought all Konami was about now was Pachinko Machines and mobile games because they said that console games are like dead or something like that

Of course, and it'll still sell for a little while.

I'll play devil's advocate and say that good Metal Gear games are still possible without Kojima.  Hell, V barely even felt like a MG game in terms of story.  I think it was executed very poorly.   Not only that, but Kojima wasn't the only writer on previous games, he shared writing duties with Tomokazu Fukushima.

am I the only one who really enjoyed Portable Ops? and AC!D?

Looks like Konami wants to keep on beating that old horse up or rather, damaging that old Metal Gear with a RPG7.

Give it up, Kojima left you.
