  • Brilliant? The two they released these past years are not playable on either platform KH3 will be released on. And these ReMIXes have delayed KH3.

Guys sorry but this thread has devolved into personal attacks and is going nowhere so I think it's best to lock it up. Please keep personal attacks out of your arguments in the future please. Remember

The 67 number is from Nomura when a journalist asked him how many people were working on 2.5.

Remasters do take up quite a bit of time and resources. Just ask Naughty Dog, who have a lot more staff than the Osaka studio.

I understand that you got the number from an interview, that's not the point. The point is that you're using that number, with no additional information, and telling people something that could be entirely misconstrued. We have no way of knowing any of the HD collections have actually impacted KHIII's development cycle really. The data might suggest something that was otherwise a non-issue.

I never claimed that they don't take up a lot of manhours and money, but I sincerely doubt that Square would let any of them affect KHIII's development in any meaningful way. What has been said to have taken up most of that time actually developing the game was porting it to the other engine. Even if the HD collections added to any sort of delay, throwing them out like they're the No. 1 reason is ridiculous.

Nomura: The transition was quite a process. We pretty much had to start from the ground again. We had to make sure that we could recreate our key effects in the Unreal Engine and that the effects we specifically needed for Kingdom Hearts could be adapted. We were also developing a Kingdom Hearts-specific shader and we had to make a lot of adjustments so we could use that shader on the new engine. That goes a long way to explaining the long distance between the announcement and now, when we’re able to reveal more information about the title.

I never said to throw them out. Lol. Simply outsource them. Just like every other normal studio in the world.

I didn't mean 'throw them out' as in 'throw out the HD collections', I meant something more that you're throwing them under the bus, that bus being KHIII.

Either way, the outsourcing argument is neither here nor there since we have no idea what would have happened if KH 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 would look like developed outside of SE.

The outsourcing argument is my argument. Lol. Osaka Studio is literally the only one I've heard of to do the remasters themselves. Lol.

It's a moot point though since they're not outsourced and we'll never know if that would have been a better decision. It could have been terrible, with way more glitches than what we've got now, or it could have been one of the best collections ever and KHIII would be coming out in 2016 and everybody would be getting a golden statue of Sora to place in their room for free. We'll never know.

My argument was simply that throwing out '67 employees were used on HD collections' is not justification to say that the HD collections delayed KHIII at all, which it's not. We have no inside view on its development and thus no way of knowing.

Well KH3's been in development hell whatever way you look at it.

You know, some of us don't even want KH3 that soon. The delays don't even feel that much like hurdles to me, it gives them more time to iron out ideas, correct mistakes, and prolong that ever-addicting hype train. Yes we might have gotten KH3 A LITTLE bit sooner if the HD remixes never came to pass, but then we never would have gotten English final mixes, better controls, a PS3 representation, or half of the potential buyers of KH3 up to speed. And in my opinion, KH3 as it will be when it comes out 2017-2018-ish will be A MILLION times better than what KH3 would have been if it came out 2015-2016-ish. No facts to back that up, might be wrong, but I have a good feeling about it, take that for what you will. And again, I welcome the HD remixes, I would have done the same thing if I was in charge. I probably would have made ports for PS4 too, but that would be the only thing different I would do. I'm pretty content with how it is as is, and so are a lot of other fans. And even if BH6 would have been in there anyway, other more recent movies that might be considered now (if any beyond BH6) might not have been so fortunate, so this gave them a fair enough chance. The only negative outcome I can see from this is that we lost dear Leonard Nemoy along the way, and his voice could have been preserved in KH3 if voice casting was done soon enough. But since that outcome is unlikely now, it doesn't matter as far as the final product of KH3 is concerned. The HD remixes may have complicated development speed a little bit, but I feel that they gave us so much more in return. There's less point in griping over what could have been when we are still going to get what we want a little bit later.

Also, I don't have a PS4 yet, so A) Thank you for making them PS3 KH3 team! B) More time for me to save up that PS4 money!

Doesn't meant that applies to everyone, that's just where I'm coming from on this one.

Really? cause let's be honest here, Kingdom Hearts is a collaborative process between Disney and Square Enix. Disney could have easily told Square Enix during 2013 that "We've got a winter fairy-tale movie and a American/Japanese mashup movie coming soon, you want to consider adding them to Kingdom Hearts 3?".

I don't see Kingdom Hearts 3 in development hell, they're just technically challenged due to the Disney Revival characters and worlds. San Fransokyo alone was big enough to fit Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph and Frozen together and Rapunzel's hair took years in order to render effectively. Be stubborn all you want but Kingdom Hearts 3 is doing really well for its development (especially if Nomura has already decided a release date for the game).

7-8 years in development is really well? LOL.

But Nomura said they had to start from the ground again, when they changed the engine. So it's actually only 4-5 years in development.

And 5 years is when game development length becomes a joke.

I'm not saying that 5 years isn't a long time, but I honestly don't mind.

And even if they would have outsourced 1.5 and 2.5 to shorten the development length of KH3, I don't think that KH3 would be released any sooner. We only get one KH game every year, and there was no room for KH3 in the last years, and next year we get 2.8.

That's at least my opinion.

That one game year a thing was just Nomura's wish almost a decade ago. And we got two titles in 2010 & 2013. BbS & Re:coded in 2010, even the final episode of coded. With 1.5 & KHx in 2013.

7-8 years in development is really well? LOL.

For every other game, no. For Kingdom Hearts 3, yes. It's a shame you were oblivious to my previous post, because this is a series that uses Disney properties, the longer KH3 is delayed then the more recent and diverse properties can be added to Kingdom Hearts 3. Because KH3 has been delayed for a potential 2017 release, we'll get ourselves Zootopia and Moana properties either as the form of summons or cameos.

Lol. You might as well delay KH3 to 2020 then so we can use Avengers 3 characters. There's always DLC for summons and boss battles. And as for worlds, there's always Kingdom Hearts IV.

Well, not me. Re:coded was released in 2011 in Europe, and KH:X was never localized. Besides, Re:coded and KH:X are minor KH games, you can't compare them to the numbered titles or BbS.

But like I said, that's just my opinion. I think KH3 being released in 2017 (hopefully, or 2018 at the latest) is perfect.

If you aren't counting spin-offs than you can't count remasters. Lol.

I'm counting spin-offs, but the plot of Re:coded is of no importance, except for the last scene.

And the remasters are important, because for many people they were the first opportunity to play KH1 and KH2, that was a reason to make them in the first place. So releasing KH3 in the same year as one of the remasters would be bs.

That's why they remade the whole thing into a 3-hour movie.

Really? If they released a HD remaster of DDD in say March 2016 and KH3 in September 2016?  Seems fine to me. Sony would agree too.

They only made this movie because they didn't want to leave Re:coded out. And they added some new new scenes, so it's more important than the game itself. And it's a part of 1.5, which is, like I said, very important.

Of course that would be fine, a HD remaster of DDD is not that big as 1.5 and 2.5. But one year to wait isn't that much is it? So I'm totally fine with one KH game a year, I don't need 2.

But it wont take Kingdom Hearts 3 that long to come out. These delays benefit the game as it provides more diversity to the Disney worlds.

Honestly, you have to stop with your impatience, it's not going to change Square Enix's release schedule.

As for Kingdom Hearts 4, that's going to be a clean slate. There's no purpose thinking that far ahead.

And 5 years is when game development length becomes a joke.

That's not true anymore. It's the norm nowdays. Look at MGSV, magnificent game, took 7 years to make. Uncharted 4 has taken 5 years to make.

MGSV is an incomplete game, a large chunk of story and gameplay was cut to release it before Kojima finally got kicked out of the door, poor management. And Sora96 is right, at 5 years it is a joke.

Which means it should have taken more than that but unfortunately it didn't because Konami were morons. 5 years isn't a joke. That's how long it takes nowdays. That's just it. If you want a good game you have to be patient, otherwise you'd get a mediocre one.

Uncharted 4 took 5 years? Lol. Proper development of what we're getting next year didn't start until early 2014. I am not going to comment on a game that cost nearly 100 million dollars to make.

I'm not complaining about the wait. Simply, Nomura's well aware of the demand and yet he chooses to make it longer.

You have a 100 years of Disney movies. Lol.

I'm fine, I honestly don't even care about KH3 that much any more.
