Isamu Kuno 2,512 Posted October 19, 2015 (edited) Hey, I know I made a post about how magic should work in KH3 years ago, but a new idea just hit me. Now, I know we're going back to the command menu for KH3 and not the command deck, but that doesn't mean we can't still have Advanced Magic commands. Let me explain how. In Re:CoM, advanced magic commands where sleight using specific magic cards, in KH2 we got Magic combos, and in KH3 we will have "Dynamic Magic" (I.e. magic that affects the environment) in the Game Scorcery, certain spell combinations yielded special efects, for example, sending a tornado through wall of flame created a firey twister. What if KH3 does something similar where in say, for exaple, if you cast Fire right after Aero you can use Raging Storm? Alternatively, we've seen that blizzard leaves and ice slice and Aero blows grass arouns. It stands to reason that (although we haven't seen it yet) fire would leave scorch marks. Perhaps sending Aero through a scorch mark could also trigger Raging Storm. What do you think? KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted October 19, 2015 Actually, since you mentioned it, an too have thought about magic for KH3. I think we could have magic like what we have seen in KHUX and the KHX walkthrough. We might even have attacks like what we have seen in KHX walkthrough. Who knows what they will do to add them, but they will add advanced magic.
Guest Posted October 19, 2015 I think magic types may be customization akin to Birth by Sleep. But rather than leveling up the magic: you have the choice of how your fire, blizzard and thunder will work. Now that X introduced the Red beats Green, Green beats Blue, Blue beats Red: would that be implemented in Kingdom Hearts 3 by any chance?
KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted October 19, 2015 Now that X introduced the Red beats Green, Green beats Blue, Blue beats Red: would that be implemented in Kingdom Hearts 3 by any chance?I don't think so. That would hinder the crazy, fast-paced action Nomura has talked about. I think it won't matter what color beats what. 1 PillowHead reacted to this
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted October 19, 2015 Anything could go at this point. Maybe it might even be like the old Final Fantasy games, where all the magic is just thrown together onto one list. I would personally want some kind of creative and innovative system like you mentioned. Hell, anything that could combine the best of the magic-infused attacks from KH1 and KH2 final mix (Gravity Strike and Magnet Splash), the sleights from Re:CoM, and the advanced/master level magic commands from BbS Re:Coded and DDD would be really awesome. I just hope we have access to all kinds of magic, from the basic stuff like KH1 to the creative combos like KH2 to the advanced super magic destruction of all the other titles. And of course, my favorite wish, BRING US THE WATER SPELL ALREADY GOD DAMN IT!!! PLEASE SQUARE, MY INNER PIECES NEEDS THAT SPELL!!! T3T
Psychic_Ketchup 367 Posted October 19, 2015 It'd be cool if you could use the environment, like you could ignite an enemy or object, and then blast them with a gust of wind to create an explosion or firestorm. Or you spray an area with water and then freeze it up to hinder enemies. 1 Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) reacted to this
Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) 3,859 Posted October 19, 2015 I've already said many times that Sora should start with his -aga spells, which means he should end with even greater spells. If they do use the enviroment in order to create impressive spells, that would be awsome, but it should be more than just Raging Storm (for example), or at least the animation should be a lot cooler than any time before; this isn't the same Sora as before, he's grown a lot. If the fire spell he uses in the trailer is the base version, Im excited to see what firaga would look like 1 Trece the Xam ( ▀ ͜͞ʖ▀) reacted to this

The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted October 20, 2015 (edited) Damn, that actually sounds pretty badass! The way one would use the effects of magic in the environment to create more potent spells definitely sounds like something that would transition well to gameplay! And it would look insanely beautiful! I would like it if this is the way that magic ends up working in Kingdom Hearts III! Also, I'm wondering if we'll get Ja or Sa spells? You know, like Firaja, or Curasa? That's something I've been curious about concerning magic! Edited October 20, 2015 by The Transcendent Key

I REMEMBER USING ZERO GRAVIZA WITH SORA! And that's right, Mickey used Stopza! I wonder if we'll get more spells of this capacity in Kingdom Hearts III? Captain Swagblader 280 Posted October 22, 2015 Zero Graviza was a Riku exclusive command. SHOTS FIRED! SHOTS FIRED!! All jokes aside, your concept is very likely to be implemented into KH3, since this is next gen hardware, and that means we can actually render this, and create spectacular visually appeasing combos.
