What game was the one that popularized ARPG?

Posted

Or more specifically, was it kingdom hearts that change square enix?

I'm asking because square is really changing final fantasy nowadays

For example:

-Crisis core

-Final fantasy Type-0

-FFXV

-FF explorers

and now FFVII Remake

BTW I think it FFVII Remake looks really cool, can't wait to see more in the future

I'm saying because of the recent comments about the gameplay.

I already knew gameplay was going to be like this

Sorry, I made mistake, I meant  Japanese Action role playing game

Lol.

Final Fantasy VII is the game that made RPGs mainstream selling over 9 millions worldwide on the PS1.

It is up to each development team to decide what battle system is used.

FF7 bro.

pretty sure it was Final Fantasy VII

edit: well after the title change to "ARPG" i have no response.

I'm not really sure other than it could be Kingdom Hearts since it's so popular. I don't think Action RPGs came into mainstream until PS2. I think PS1 had some Action RPGs but I doubt they popularized it. So sometime around the PS2 era

I don't any ARPGs were that important. It just comes down to combing RPG with action.
