With the new KH3/2.8 Prologue trailer already out...

Posted

Looking at the the Chi Back Cover part of the trailer, does anyone assume that this Rebirth Theory may come true?? Or do you think that it's still an assumption?

For those that don't know, the Theory is about how TAVRK are reincarnations of the Five Foretellers. In the trailer, some people say that the Japanese voices sound like/similar to TAVRK.

Personally, I'm not up for this theory because I think it makes these characters less interesting, knowing that they have to go through some sort of never-ending cycle of life and death, over and over again. Also, there's something about Chi game/Book of Prophecies having some sort of connection to Jiminy's Journal/Datascape.

Feels like a bad mashup of Naruto and Legend of Zelda (slamming more heavily ridiculous roles onto major characters while putting them in a life-and-death cycle to stop a villain connected to them).

Anyways, repeating the question, does anyone assume this Rebirth Theory will come true, or do you think it's just something else?

I wouldn't say that Terra, Aqua, Ventus, Riku and Kairi are reincarnations of the Foretellers.  I think that they'd be akin to descendants instead of reincarnations!  It'd certainly be very interesting to see how this would play into Kingdom Hearts III!  But then again, what do I know? :P

i could see Nomura trying to make Chi seem more relevant than it actually is by going with the reincarnation theory. plus it also backs his claim that sora isn't special (despite being special).

It's funny, because Unicornis seems to have the same voice actor as Sasuke and it's obvious that Riku has strong similarities with Sasuke.

Sora is very very special, definitely had a few too many coconuts fall on his head.

No not at all. The voices are completely new. This rebirth stuff is not happening and not true. It hasn't been confirmed and if these are the lost masters that have been spoken of, then how can they return? They can't.

not to mention those Destiny Island mushrooms he was always collecting

Bet eating those mushrooms gave him quite the visions of his destiny.

I'm always up for how people/creators can approach cliche ideas and make it seem NOT so cliche, but this Rebirth Theory has no way to be approached without making characters appear less interesting to me.
