OK, so I've been examining people's reputation report lately.It has occured to me that some members are like "heres a rep for nothing" or "heres a rep to make you even" Not to sound mean or anything, that sounds like a insult to me like they didn't deserve the rep. I think we should describe exactly WHY we gave the person the rep, not like "heres a rep for nothing" or "heres a rep to make u even".

I'd like a thumbs up or thumbs down system like in facebook or youtube. That way your rep can only go up if you make meaningful post. Of course it can still go up for no reason but it will add a little more purpose to it.

 

You can get multiple reps from the same person but that person can only thumbs up your post once. In other words, the system is on the post rather then the profile.

 

Thumbs downs of course bring your rep down.

 

Now this can be abused a bit as someone can thumbs down everything you say just to give you a bad rep. So to prevent this or at least slow it down, you can only give three thumbs down a day in general.

 

The thumbs up can be abused a bit as well so you can only give three thumbs up FOR A PERSON in 24 hours. You can give as many thumbs up to people as you want but you can't give the same person three thumbs up for 24 hours.

From what I've seen in this forum there's a lot of fuss around the rep system.

Why don't we just get rid of it so everyone will stop complaining about it?

 

And I must say that I see no point in it.

I agree. It's just a stupid number. I don't care how many reps I have (even though I know I have a lot). But unfrotuantly, like DC said, there would be a bunch of people whinning, complaining and bit**ing about how they had a bunch of reps and now it's gone forever.

As has been said before, it'd just cause a big problem, because people would be upset over the loss of their reps. It felt kind of important my first week or so, but afterwards I really could care less.

 

The only problem besides the complaining that I could see with that would be that some people would be wondering how to congradulate you on something or whatever. You could IM or PM them, but I guess it's a thing to give reps because you're expecting one back. IDK, haha.

Similar to that issue with the post count, but that was actually taken quite well I must admit, at least from what I saw...Yeah, that would cause a lot of huffing and fussing, for me, I would be like "What the crap happened to my Rep?" then after a few day's I'd get over it because it is just a pointless number.

I agree. The members of KH13 should vote.

Guys, if it aint broke, don't fix it.

The Reputation system is fine.

I don't believe anything should be changed on it.

Removing it will start a fair few threads in the website forum asking

I don't think a poll would work. It should be all or the majority of the members in agreement. How are we going to get all the active users to vote? Some people are on here strictly to RP, and don't bother doing anything else--we wouldn't be getting everyone's opinion.

It's a number. Doesn't matter if you're like "OMG I GOT ANOTHER REP." or "Woop another rep", might as well keep it seeing as many members who like the rep system would complain.

Exactly my point. Rep doesn't matter to most members so I'd say to delete it

I think what he meant is that they don't matter in the sense of arguing over it.

Every forum has some sort of rep system, and I quite like ours, because it's fun between friends, even if you get the occasional "heres a rep" positive rep.

There's no point of getting rid of something that isn't a problem.

Well it doesn't matter to me if it is gone or not...If it is gone it's gone, if it is here to stay then here it is...Although it is kinda fun to get one every once and a while...

No one is abusing it, voting does nothing.

I don't think the mods want to keep closing and deleting threads about, what happened to rep?

My favourite thing about rep is the comments that come with them to be honest.
