I have seen the trailers for Bloodborne and some gameplay which looks cool. But is the gameplay entertaining enough for a full play through that's worth the money? I have never played the Dark Souls franchise so would Bloodborne be an enjoyable experience that would successfully introduce me to this type of genre?

Yes, buy it, it's awesome.

In my OPINION, the story is pretty poor :/

However, for that specific genre of games, I found the gameplay to be fantastic :P

Just make sure you have enough to buy a new controller after you inevitably throw your first one at a wall

The gameplay is certainly entertaining enough; it's fast paced and intense while also rewarding the player for being patient and learning when the best time to strike is. Not to mention that the level design is phenomenal and exploring will almost always pay dividends.

I don't really understand the appeal of these games, plus I dont see why you'd want to soon buy another Dualshock 4 . But hey, if you are really in the masochist mood, wait for Dark Souls III to release.

yea it's a really fun game. the exploration aspect, the combat and then Victorian London-styled locations were very appealing to me. not mention it has the feel of a horror game with its atmosphere. Bloodborne was my first "Souls" game and i didn't think it was unfairly difficult. i mean ok sure some enemies do a lot of damage but that just mean's you can't wail on them repeatedly. you have to think and figure out the best time to strike.

as for the story, there IS one but it isn't presented very directly to you. if you pay attention to NPCs and some aspects of the environment you'll start to pick up a vague idea of what's going on. I had to look up a video explaining it afterwards honestly, but it didn't ruin the experience. i was mainly in it for the gameplay, which proved to be very enjoyable.

definitely check it out.

Also a note on the story: it definitely helps to be a little familiar with Lovecraft style of horror. I didn't understand a lot of what things meant until I did some research and learned what they were going for.

It's good;  both gameplay and plot.

It honestly is an amazing experience.  Defines a unique genre, imo.

Thanks guys! I've bought it. About to play it now.
