Firaga 5,947 Posted April 19, 2016 Yep, time for another Spider-Man origin film. Let's hope that Marvel understands how overdone the whole origin story of Spider-Man is and try to do something a little different. I know its the character's official introduction into the MCU and all, but come on, it's been ingrained into pop culture, we all know the story. 2 2 quid is good and The Transcendent Key reacted to this
MythrilMagician 6,963 Posted April 19, 2016 Spider-Man: Homecoming? Quite an odd title. Yep, time for another Spider-Man origin film. Let's hope that Marvel understands how overdone the whole origin story of Spider-Man is and try to do something a little different. I know its the character's official introduction into the MCU and all, but come on, it's been ingrained into pop culture, we all know the story.Yeah, it's getting quite irritating. We don't need the same origin story done that many times. 3 The Transcendent Key, Firaga and Hero of Winds reacted to this
Xiro 3,468 Posted April 19, 2016 Regarding the title: Friend: Because he's back under Marvel, perhaps? Me and another friend: Because he's in high school? Hopefully I'd prefer if it's because of the former reason, buuuut we'll see. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Yeah, it's getting quite irritating. We don't need the same origin story done that many times. They said they didn't plan on making an origin movie. They realize that it would be redundant and just want to focus on the current story that they have set up. At most you'll probably just be getting some brief flashbacks. 2 The Transcendent Key and Firaga reacted to this

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted April 20, 2016 Well, good. That's the best direction they could take with this film. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the origin story again, since it's always interesting to see how many different ways you can do it. I loved both the Rami and Webb versions, so I would have loved to have seen what a full-fledged MCU version would have been like, maybe strike a middle ground between the previous series. But I can understand how in terms of momentum everyone else is tired of seeing the story constantly being told again, so it makes sense to try to be a little minimalist with the explanation at this point, especially if it means you get to introduce Spidey as being well-established into the universe already. I mean, I'm still a fan of slow climbs to the top (oh thank the lord for that pun! X3), but at least wee'll get to see Spidey in action a little more than just getting about half a movie of him learning the ropes. But with that in mind, I do hope that we get the trade off of getting some pretty good flashback scenes or something. I know everybody wants to move on already, but it's just one of my most favorite and defining stories, so I at least hope we get to see them do that a little bit, you know, not too much, not too little. It's a good story worth telling, even if the general audience isn't quite in the mood for it right now. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this

Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted April 20, 2016 As long as it's not the focal point of the entire movie, we should be fine. Shouldn't be, though I am curious to see who they will have as the antagonist. Since we've already done Green Goblin and Lizard, the Vulture might make for a good early villain. I mean, he was one of the first in the comic after all, and he tends to be one of the first villains he faces in every other medium anyway. But they could also do something else cool and unexpected. 2 The Transcendent Key and Firaga reacted to this
The Transcendent Key 12,109 Posted April 20, 2016 I. CANNOT. WAIT. GODDAMMIT. OMG, I KNOW, RIGHT!? I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE SPIDEY'S NEW FILM!!!! Yep, time for another Spider-Man origin film. Let's hope that Marvel understands how overdone the whole origin story of Spider-Man is and try to do something a little different. I know its the character's official introduction into the MCU and all, but come on, it's been ingrained into pop culture, we all know the story. Actually, the fact of the matter is that Kevin Feige, the president over at Marvel Studios said that he knew how people would probably react to yet another origin story, so the studio's making it a point to give the MCU Spider-Man a different approach, ya know? As such, his solo debut won't be another origin story, ya know? Spider-Man: Homecoming? Quite an odd title. Yeah, it's getting quite irritating. We don't need the same origin story done that many times. Well, the title may be alluding to a certain high school event, ya know? *Wink, wink.* But I also think it's a symbolic title, as Spider-Man's finally in the MCU where he belongs, thus, the Homecoming aspect of the title! And as I told Firaga, the origin story won't be around this time! Regarding the title: Friend: Because he's back under Marvel, perhaps? Me and another friend: Because he's in high school? Hopefully I'd prefer if it's because of the former reason, buuuut we'll see. It's probably both the literal reason and the symbolic reason, ya know? So both assumptions of yours are probably correct! I swear if we see uncle Ben die one more time.... But if Spidey already has his powers in civil war, then surely homecoming would be a sequel and not a prequel Indeed, we won't be getting another origin story, as I said so to the above quoters! They said they didn't plan on making an origin movie. They realize that it would be redundant and just want to focus on the current story that they have set up. At most you'll probably just be getting some brief flashbacks. Yeah, that's what I think too! If we get any kind of semblance close to an origin story, it'll probably be in the form of flashbacks that don't deviate from the story that the film will be tackling, ya know? Well, good. That's the best direction they could take with this film. Indeed, indeed! Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the origin story again, since it's always interesting to see how many different ways you can do it. I loved both the Rami and Webb versions, so I would have loved to have seen what a full-fledged MCU version would have been like, maybe strike a middle ground between the previous series. It's a good story worth telling, even if the general audience isn't quite in the mood for it right now. Well, I mean, personally, I wouldn't be bothered if the origin story was given another go, but considering that Spider-Man's such a well known character, his origins are already known far and wide, ya know? Besides, it's as you said, brief flashbacks will probably be the best way to catch newbies up to speed on how he became Spider-Man, ya know? I'm sure the big people at Marvel will know how to handle Spidey's solo film debut in the MCU! As long as it's not the focal point of the entire movie, we should be fine. It probably won't be. If the title is anything to go by, then we'll be seeing Peter trying to ask either Gwen or Mary Jane to the Homecoming dance, if that's indeed the reason for the Homecoming title! And on the Spidey side, we'd obviously catch the webhead taking on some baddies! Yes, I think Vulture would be a good option, and another good option would be either Kraven The Hunter or Chameleon, as both are also on the list of Spidey's first foes! I'd also love to see Mysterio, but hey, who knows who the villain will be, am I right? Let's just hope we get something different, rather than the villains that have already appeared in previous Spidey films, ya know? But yeah, the best thing to note here is that Spidey's official debut will be in Captain America: Civil War, which comes out in a few weeks! And if you didn't notice, the webhead was actually mentioned in Ant-Man, almost at the very end of the movie! Watch it and listen closely...you'll see what I mean! But yeah, Spidey's already an established character in the MCU, and Civil War will mark his first appearance, then followed by his solo film, Homecoming, which comes out next year! Gahhh, I can't wait to see Spidey!!!!

Gahhh, I can't wait to see Spidey!!!! I mean, say what you will about Superman vs Batman, but at least they were smart with keeping the backstory of this Batman very brief and to the point, literally nothing else you wouldn't already know or need to know about Batman going in. Too bad it was more for the sake of the movie trying to cram 4 different plots into the same 2 hours rather than trying to be tactful with it's material. 1 The Transcendent Key reacted to this
