Hello everybody

I didn't imagine to write this so early: 0.2 SPOLIERS

proceed ONLY if you've already watched the new 0.2 demo

so Aqua must retrive these 5 Gears to make the clock go backwards and restore the road, but exactly why would a clock spinning backwards make time go back? and why are there Gears in the city near the Castle in the first place?

I know this is a fantasy game and questions like this may not have an answer at all, but I still wanna know what you think about this :)

However (personal opinion on this topic)

I hope this is just a mechanics of KH0.2 I really don't want this "back in time with tools" stuff to be in KH3, also because we already have too much stuff about time-travelling

What I really want to know is why the first thing Aqua did when she saw one was beat the shit out of it with her giant key.

loool

well actually I think I'd have done it too, but regardless if it's the most intuitive thing to do, what I wanna know is the reason(if exists) it worked

I'm like, yeah, do you really think that's a good idea? I know it worked and everything, but still...

She didn't, she hit it once in the cutscene.

One giant swing is enough to actually 'beat' the harmless gear

I just think that the whole mechanic with the gears is only and exclusively tied to bringing back the road that collapsed!  I seriously doubt that the gears are implicating that there'll be time-related things through most of Kingdom Hearts III, ya know?  As for why the gears are where they are, well, it's probably because of how the world got fragmented, ya know?  We clearly see fragments and chunks of debris from Cinderella's Castle Of Dreams, so yeah, the gears could simply be an anomaly, ya know? :3

Good God, that demo though! X_X

this is a fantasy game

i think you answered your own question :P

I like this, maybe the whole time going back is an anomaly of the world based on the presence of a clock tower and Aqua takes advantage of it with the power of the keyblade, I'd like to see other worlds that have been consumed by darkness and arrived in the RoD to see how time works within them, unfortunately I don't think we're going to see other places in 0.2

Yeah, it is a pretty cool concept!  And well, considering that 0.2 will be a decent length, according to Nomura, I think it's safe to say we'll get to see at least one more fragmented world in the Realm Of Darkness!  If we do get another fragmented world, odds are there will be another gimmick to it, to show how the Realm Of Darkness has different distortions, ya know? :3

That's how keyblades work.  They unlock the solution by smacking or shooting anything.
