I think Reggie is feelin' jelly. 

It's almost as if the big three console makers aren't constantly at each other's throats and are interested in what the other ones do... If only the general gaming community could be as reasonable.

All the developers go around and look at competitor's things, if not regularly use them. Neil Druckman (head of Uncharted 4) was tweeting tons of pictures playing the new zelda demo as well as talking about how excited he was to get it and play it. Sony and nintendo execs have been known to say they use each other's platforms for various games.

Agreed. A lot of people seem to think that they have to be dedicated to one and view this as one big war, but the companies themselves are all pretty friendly with one another. Microsoft and Nintendo working together for some recent releases (Donkey Kong 64 and Minecraft on Wii U) is another good example of how this isn't as competitive as hardcore fans make it out to be.
