Kingdom Hearts 3D demo to release on Japanese eShop

According to onlineplayer, a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will be released on May 2, 2012 on the Japanese Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS. The demo will take place in Traverse Town, and you will have three Dream Eaters-- Wondernyan, Neko Cat and Kuma Panda. Thanks to KHxInfo on Twitter for the find!

Update: Both 4Gamer.net and Famitsu.com have posted articles about the upcoming demo. They reveal that it will be titled Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] DEMO VERSION, that you'll need about 90MB on your SD card, and that by downloading the free demo, you get a total of 15 times in which to use it! Let's hope that other regions see something similar.

Update 2: Square Enix's official Japanese website for Kingdom Hearts 3D has been updated to confirm the demo's release on the Japanese Nintendo eShop.

Update 3: As it is now May 2, 2012 in Japan, the Kingdom Hearts 3D demo is now available to download for free from the Japanese Nintendo 3DS eShop.

Well, this is interesting, considering the game is already out.

I don't really know how to feel at the moment. One side japanese is saying 'WHAT' and the other side western is saying 'WHAT'.

Well, I guess it is a matter of time before we get an English Demo as well... unless it is after the game's release like this one.

A demo, for a Kingdom Hearts game? What is the world coming to?!?! D:

Nah, just kidding. This is great news, it means Western fans may actually get to expirence the game before it releases. ^^

Is it because it's the 10th anniversary? Or will there be more demos for future KH games from now on?

To be continued......

This is great news... provided the demo's release PREDATES that of the game itself in western countries, as opposed to what happened in Japan. Because given I'm getting the game on day -2 (the game store where I buy games usually gets them one or two days before the official release, just as it happened in Japan), having the demo released afterwards would kind of kill its purpose (although the limited number of "uses" does so anyway).

Just sayin'.

I realize this is getting a bit off-topic, but the limited amount of uses is fair. Limiting the amount would encourage someone who enjoys the demo alot to go out and buy the game one their uses have expired, and those who don't use up all uses usually only play the demo a couple of times anyway.

If it was limited to one or two uses, yeah, fair enough, but 15-30 in demos is a really good amount of uses. (imo)

Well this is odd, if I remember correctly Disney said that they won't release any DLC for Kingdom Hearts series, including demoes. So why is it that there is a demo for this KH game? And to top it all off, why even bring the demo to Japanese 3DS owners if the full game is already out? They could've just mnade the demo for NA and EU 3DS owners. This makes me wish we had a demo for BBS back when it wasn't realeased yet. But I guess it's probably because of the fact the 3DS's can be bricked if anyone tries to hack it. But will this mean that we will see more demoes in the upcoming future of KH games?

Lmao wtf kinda fai-- a demo after the release?? SE reeeaaally wants everyone in Japan with a 3DS to own this game in some way. xD Now, if we could get a demo BEFORE the release, that would be great. 8P

Wow. Releasing a demo for a game in Japan AFTER the game has already been released. This is worse than the deal with Dissidia Prologus

for some people, they want to try the game first before buying so I guess that's the point.. but yea, it seems kinda late for them.. =/

I guess this would be for some of those people that have no idea if they want Dream Drop Distance or not, but I do find it odd that they are releaseing it like a month after its been released, I hope the other regions gets a demo as well, but I'm not holding my breath to it.

It's bc Disney never actually said that? I don't know where that came from, but that's just another stupid rumor that blames Disney for something that's actually Square's fault. Disney has many games for download, they don't care about a demo. Who knows what the reason is?
