KH3D playable in English at London MCM Expo (May 25-27, 2012)

The London MCM Expo is a gaming event held in London, running this year from May 25 to May 27, 2012. Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will be appearing with a playable demo in English. This demo is playable by the public, so we definitely recommend that you attend the event if possible! You could be one of the first people to play the game in English!

Update 1: Thanks to a post by jennypen on Tumblr, we have the first photo of the Kingdom Hearts 3D demo at the event. It's not much, but it's still nice to see! Thanks to Terranort9406 from KH13 for the find.

Update 2: The Official Nintendo Magazine's website have provided demo impressions of the Kingdom Hearts 3D demo at the MCM Expo. Thanks to KHUltimania for the find, you can read these demo impressions below.

As you can probably imagine, I was literally bursting with excitement while waiting in the queue for Kingdom Hearts 3D as this is a game I've been waiting a long long time for. I'd also been avoiding any videos on the internet so that when I finally got to play the demo at MCM, this really would be the first time I got to see it.

There were two demos to choose from. You could either play as Riku or Sora, Obviously, I picked Sora as he is the original keyblade hero. Then, the demo started and I was in the Country of the Musketeers. For people, who haven't actually seen this Disney rendition of the Three Musketeers, the musketeers are played by Donald Duck, Goofy and Mickey Mouse. A cutscene began and I sat back to enjoy the 3D. I was totally enthralled by what I saw - it does look absolutely beautiful.

Then the fighting started and I had to take on tons of Nightmare Dream Eaters. Although Sora has new moves - he can now jump and glide - my prior Kingdom Hearts knowledge helped in these battles and I soon managed to work out the controls and take out the Dream Eaters. I also had some help from my Spirit Dream Eaters - a Meow Wow and a Necho Cat, both of whom are pretty cute!

Upon defeating the Nightmare Dream Eaters, I had to defend Princess Minnie from a gigantic 'dinosaur' Dream Eater called a Boukun Rex. Turned out it was a boss!

The game looks great. I really don't want to give too much away but I loved being able to play Kingdom Hearts 3DS at MCM Expo and I cannot wait till the game's release date on July 20th

Honestly, I don't care about getting a demo. What I want is an ENGLISH TRAILER! And soon, I don't want to wait till e3.

That is an awesome way to put it! I like the way you think. ;D

Thanks haha, better to think positively than negatively about it. Complaining about it just makes you more angry and irritates other people. Not good for anybody! http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/ohmy.png

I can't wait to see what they may have planned for the 10th anniversary. nwn

lmao, y'know what I meant. An english trailer means the localisation is closer to being done, than a bunch of small battle cries that are in the demo, which means we're closer to playing the full game.

At this point, i'm fairly certain localisation is all but complete. I'd say square is working on stuff like English manuals, and finishing things off. There's no way that they haven't finished Traverse Town by now. And they almost definitely had a lot of the important stuff shown in the trailers done last year.

Well one of the recent interviews did say that Square will release a demo in NA. Since they said release and not feature I think it will be on eShop. It's true that Disney said they don't want any game with their name on it to be released for internet download but since it's 1) not a full game, but a demo and 2) only takes place in Traverse Town and therefore wont feature any Disney characters I think Square NA can get around that. Also Nomura said to recommend it to your friends and play Flick Rush, and how could we do that unless it was downloadable?

But Sony has some PS1 games of theirs up for download. I guess they lied.. And maybe he meant the full game?

No the interview clearly said demo. And as for the PS1 games they're probably no worried about the piracy of games for a dead system. I'm hoping the demo will come out sometime in June.

so has anything shown up from this yet?

Yeah, you'd think after 2 days someone would post a demo impression from the event.

Only the first day of the event (Friday, the smallest day) is over. The second day is yet to start.

Oops, I accidentally thought it was Saturday today for some reason, I have no idea why. Just ignore my previous post then....

I think they got all the cutscenes recorded since March/April at least.

Btw guys it's not a big deal Europe are getting things slighty earlier I mean tbh we got the short end of the stick plenty, I mean 6 months localisation for KHII after America was Ridiculous! Besides if anything the release date might have something more to do with Nintendo than SE.

I'm pretty sure Europeans haven't discovered the technology for cameras yet...

Oh, but they have. Its remembering to bring things that Europeans have a problem with...
