Last night, a demo for Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] was added to the Nintendo 3DS eShop in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The North American version allows for 30 free plays, while the other versions allow for 15. We definitely recommend that you download and play the free demo, however, if you can't do so for some reason, we have prepared the following summary of the demo for you.

The demo is split into two sections, the "Tutorial" and the main section. On the menu screen, you have the choice of which you would like to play. "Tutorial" lets you play through the very part of the game on Destiny Islands (as Sora), where you are on a raft, shown the controls of the game, and have a short boss battle with Ursula, ending with some more tutorials in Traverse Town. You can see a recording of the tutorial below, thanks to Limen123 from KH13.

The main part of the demo takes part in Traverse Town, again, playing as Sora. When you arrive in Traverse Town, you are treated to a cutscene between Sora and Neku. After that, you can explore Traverse Town and fight Dream Eaters, with the demo ending after you beat the Dream Eater boss in the world. After you complete the demo, you are treated to one of many random "thank you for playing" screens, featuring Meow Wow. Awesome! Make sure you play through the demo multiple times in order to see each one.

I think the game will be epic, but the demo was a bit too short.....

They could have made Riku playable as well.....

    i hope you have glide right off the back cuase just to earn it again is gonna be a pain also they should of made riku playable

    Oh no!!!! My family whent on vacation one day before the demo was released and now when I come here I see this and I cant download and play it. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! What a pain!

    Yep, as I thought... Europe once again gets screwed over. Sick of everything NA is getting compared to us now...

     

    You guys get the game first be fair bro xD I would kill to steal some kids 3ds with kh 3d... I AM going to london though... :3

    Oh c'mon, you guys got every other KH game before us so it's not really a big deal that we get it 11 days before. xD I was gonna say you should get it when it comes out in Europe if you're gonna be in London, but... the region-lock sucks. >_<

    I could still someones 3ds but I wouldnt know if they have kh 3d in it thogh ....

    Damn it Square Enix! I'll have to buy a 3DS for KH3D... Kingdom Hearts is leaving me poor, but it's all worth it!

    My birthday is in 2 1/2 months,and i asked my mom to put a Nintendo 3DS and the game KH3D on my birthday present list.I hope she'll get both.

    you can glide in the demo. hold down A when sora is in the air. also press L and R at the same time and your dream eaters will teleport next to you. ( u all probably already know all this but this is just in case u dont)

    I played it. my 3ds surprised me with the finished download this morning. It is soooooo awesome. It is so beautiful and fluid. This game takes the 3ds and runs with it. Its just the demo and yet I'm so excited. I'm fangasming every time I play it and hear neku's voice. I can't wait!

    Until when is the demo gonna be available? this may sound weird, but i want to download it even if it’s after the amerian release, since i don’t know when I will get the 3DS... Do you guys think I’ll be able to download the demo at most one weak after the release on July 31?

    Why would you want the demo, when you can just get the game? and demos don't have an expiration date, unless if you use up all 30 uses.

    I will have to wait for the NA version release, but i want t have the demo just to have it
