Richard Epcar has not (yet) recorded any lines for HD 1.5 ReMIX

Richard Epcar is a recurring English voice actor in the Kingdom Hearts series, responsible for the voice of Ansem, Seeker of Darkness and Xehanort in all games released since Kingdom Hearts II. Roxasman1231 from KH13 contacted Epcar on Facebook, and asked him whether or not he will be recording lines in Kingdom Hearts -HD 1.5 ReMIX--- to which the answer was "haven't heard anything yet". You can see this below.

This *could* mean one of the following things, however, keep in mind that nothing is confirmed! Feel free to make up your own mind about what this news means. We've tried to present the facts, along with some ideas, so that you're not mislead into believing something false.

- Many people are speculating as to whether or not Ansem, Seeker of Darkness in Kingdom Hearts Final Mix will keep his original voice actor, Billy Zane, or if they will call in the voice actor that has done his lines since Kingdom Hearts II, Richard Epcar. It is possible that this points towards the former being true.

- Alternatively, perhaps Square Enix NA has not started localising the game yet.

Also, we think it's worthwhile to address another matter-- some websites (such as Gematsu and Siliconera) have reported that the recent HD 1.5 ReMIX announcement was "only for Japan". This has lead to widespread confusion about a possible English release of the game, with many people believing that this means there will not be one-- don't be alarmed, however, since it is normal for the initial announcement of Kingdom Hearts games to be "only for Japan". Every single game has been announced in Japan first, with the English announcement later. Nothing to worry about!

Update: Roxasman1231 from KH13 has contacted Quinton Flynn, the voice actor for Axel in the Kingdom Hearts series, asking him whether or not he has any confirmation regarding HD 1.5 ReMIX. Quinton Flynn replied saying that he has not received any info, indicating that English vocalisation for the game has not yet begun. Axel is confirmed to have new lines in the Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days Theatre Mode of HD 1.5 ReMIX.

He probably just said that because when he mentioned he'd be in 3D he got in trouble.

--Also guys, be careful, it's a big photo.

He probably doesn't want to get in trouble again. I highly doubt that it's coming out for Merikah, due to the Final Mix content.

But would it hurt to just have the same voice actors as in the first game? ._. Assuming HJO didn't hit puberty.

To add on that, didn't he sound like he had a deeper voice in KH2 than in Re:COM, which came out two years after.

I would like to know what's going on with HJO's voice.

Well Richard`s voice is the same, they probably wanted him to lighten it up a little. As for HJO, he went threw puberty. But even then you could still raise the pitch in post production... I`ve done it and it sounds like it did when he was little :)

He's just a very talented voice actor and can change the pitch of his voice very well....

So you're saying it makes sense for him to have a deeper voice before he has a higher voice?

I ain't buyin' it.

The English version is yet to be announced, also they are not allowed to discuss it until after a set date.

How does, 'haven't heard anything yet' translate to, he's not gonna do it? xD Besides, he's going to be in 1.5 no matter what anway...-looks at Re:CoM-

Exactly ..This is hardly proof hes not gonna do it . This game was just announced for Japan of course hes not gonna announce anything especially after the last time .He might not even know yet anyways .

Why were you up at 7:30 AM?!

DO YOU HATE SLEEP?

EDIT: People in the gaming industry are usually sworn to secrecy concerning upcoming games (for which I assume it would be noted with some form of compensation or punishment in their contract if they did reveal any news). So I doubt anyone would risk losing their job (or future jobs since it'll be seen as "if you tell them, they'll tell everyone else right away so there's no suspense") by telling anyone who asks them. Think of all the people who pass Nomura asking "WHATS GONNA HAPPEN IN KH3" if he told them all right away there'd be no suspense or surprise to the actual story.

You do realize that Re:CoM takes place a year before KHII so of course Sora would have a higher voice in that game. Plus, anyone can make their voice slightly higher which is just what Haley did with Sora's voice.

That's true, but I think he'd be more likely to ignore the question, rather than lie.

I'd expect him to answer vaguely and randomly "look in your heart and you will find the answer" then just run away from the person. Or "time will tell" and not rudely running away..xD

Well, it doesn't mean he won't, he only said he hasn't heard anything yet. If in fact it does get localized, he may even be one of the last people to re-voice their lines.

What you just said literally makes no sense at all. You said he had a deeper voice in KH 2 compared to CoM, and now you're saying it's deeper before KH 2? Make up your mind...? lol...

Well... don't they have to do the Japanese version first before they can start the English version?

Also, I think it's a bit too early too.
