Series director Tetsuya Nomura revealed some background information on Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] during the Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary Commemorative Campaign Preview Night held at Square Enix Café Osaka on October 13th, 2017.

  • Nomura stated that the character of Ventus from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is the "same person" as seen in Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross].
  • When asked if Lauriam from Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross] and Marluxia are the same person, he replied, "Lauriam is Lauriam."
  • Regarding the story of Kingdom Hearts Union χ[Cross], he said, "[it] will not be completed in Kingdom Hearts III. (Not everything will be revealed in Kingdom Hearts III.)"

The Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary Commemorative Campaign Preview Night at Square Enix Café Osaka is a campaign that precedes the joint campaign between Square Enix Café Osaka, Square Enix Café Tokyo, and ARTNIA, which is held to celebrate the Kingdom Hearts 15th Anniversary as well. This collective campaign will run at ARTNIA until December 14th, 2017, and at both Square Enix Café Osaka and Square Enix Café Tokyo until November 10th, 2017.

Of course not everything would be revealed in Kingdom Hearts 3 why on Earth would they do that? We would see peace on Earth and end world hunger before nomura would do something like that.

    Okay, what he said about Lauriam is different than the previous translation. That basically him not giving anything away and letting us figure out the connections. In regards to the story, it sounds like Union χ will finish on its own terms or have elements of plot connect to the next saga.

    I don't really want to theorize at how Ventus exists in two completely different timelines. I just want to sit back and let it all unfold and be amazed as it comes.

    He is he, I am me, you are you... Lauriam is Lauriam and we're all perfectly okay.

    The whole :Lauriam is Lauriam" thing is nonsense. I instantly interpreted it similar to "Roxas is not Sora". Typical Nomura trolling us, lol!

     

    Also on the subject of KHx not being wrapped up in KHIII...I figured that would happen. I felt like they were building up the Master of Masters to be something more. Evidence suggests that thanks to the confirmation of MoM not being in KHIII. I think the Master of Masters will be the next antagonist after Xehanort at this point, but who knows? I also think that they may be building up Ventus as the main protagonist in the saga after the Dark Seeker Saga. Once again, who knows?

     

    Definitely some interesting tidbits during this event, that's for sure.
