They pretty much get it like 90% of the time lol. Imo the uproar here is more of a better-safe-than-sorry approach lol. But I think this is also a sign that people worldwide are interested in that kind of stuff too, not just within Japan. I'm just surprised that KH, being a partnership between SE and Disney, wouldn't decide to release these games and information on them worldwide simultaneously given how world renown Disney is. I'm sure theres a reason for the staggered release dates but from a consumer's standpoint, it just doesnt make sense... Yeah, I checked the prices with that, it's cheaper to get it from Nin-Nin-Games actually for anyone looking to get the Square Enix JP Edition with the box container. It's priced at $69.62 USD approx. on Nin-Nin plus shipping, if you get Economy, will probably end up around $85 to anywhere in North America, which is cheaper than the quoted price on White Rabbit Express already, before shipping.

the worst part about the SE store in Japan is that it also only takes Japanese credit cards. So even foreigners can't just go ahead and buy from the SE JP store... arghh its so nice...

it was free on the JP version too, cant believe SE in NA would claim theyre not free, that customer service response was absurd. I compared my JP copy to my friend's NA one and noticeably theres even a difference in the blu-ray case quality with the NA one being flimsier. Even the insert in the JP ver wasnt just promoting more products and actually had a mini guide to teach you how to play the game. SENA needs to stop focusing on only the money part of the business... I got the 0.2 one, and its a bit pink for my tastes lol there were no KH sounds or music as part of the theme unfortunately. Kinda noob at the terminology so im not sure if the theme is considered dynamic, but it just contains different drawings of Aqua on different parts of the Home menu.

lol I almost forgot about the Mild Blood and Use of Alcohol from the Port Royal chapters. When you think about it, it's amazing how they're able to depict a "war" like the Keyblade War without any reference to blood lol... just dirt and scratches, maybe wear and tear marks, but no one cut open with a zig-zag rip or clearly seen with a key-shaped wound. I guess everyone just bursts into light once expired, like how Eraqus did in BBS.

Well.. if anything this story from Meet the Robinsons can be a turning point for the battle against Xehanort in proving that events of the past can be changed. You might ask, that would be impossible since Xehanort has seized control over all events that will happen along the timeline, but I would imagine it would be only in worlds that he and his others have touched. What if the world of Meet the Robinsons was actually never touched by Xehanort or his predecessors / other organization members and that it was a world sealed off from the Heartless? The world then would be a separate entity from the timeline altogether and would not be affected by Xehanort's theory. For a numbered series KH, we have yet to encounter a world that has neither Heartless or Nobodies, or has not been affected by Heartless and/or Nobodies (i.e. 100 Acre Wood), so it would be interesting if such a world existed in terms of what kind of enemy we would be facing. Kind of a reference to the worlds in BBS, since they only contained the Unversed. Hope all that isnt just bogus since I'm actually not too familiar with "all" the lore in KH, but this explanation makes sense to me so far... Further to what user Master Eraqus said, if anything they can take a segment of the Meet the Robinsons story and modify it to fit KH if they wanted the characters, as long as the essence of the story is still there.

Not sure if putting it on the Switch will make it fair to those playing it on PS4 and XBOX since neither of those two platforms can take the game on-the-go. And since we know Square Enix favours PlayStation, they cant have one of their main titles take the spotlight on a different console. And tbh, unless they had already knew about the Switch since the announcement of KH3 going to PS4 and Xbox One and/or the process to convert the game's controls for the Switch wouldn't sacrifice (too much) extra time, I'd rather they spend the time finishing the game and releasing it than converting it for the Switch for a simultaneous release.

Gotta say, Yoko Shimomura's soundtrack this time round for 0.2 was beautiful. I mean, her music is usually amazing, but this time just blew me away haha... probably the hype from the FFXV soundtrack too cuz she did an outstanding job with that one too. My standouts are the new Dearly Beloved for Back Cover and the track that plays when you face the final boss in 0.2. I have a feeling they're either gonna wait for 1.5+2.5 and then release a mega bulk soundtrack bundle in blu-ray disc format, with a bonus disc containing the new tracks, since I don't think there are enough for a whole soundtrack? Most of it's probably from Back Cover, since they pretty much re-used a lot of tracks for BBS 0.2. They did remix each of the Princess worlds' tracks though I noticed, which were also awesome. That mega bundle would prly include these soundtracks cuz it's technically all we have, but it'd span over 13-15 CD discs: KH1.5 KH2.5 KH BBS, 358/2 Days & ReCoded KH3D KH0.2+Back Cover

^ no English subtitles. Just played my copy today and can confirm for 0.2 and Back Cover. Thing is, if you know Katakana, you can probably navigate your way through all the menus of KH3D and BBS 0.2 since it's basically English. The cutscenes you'll need to know some basic Japanese to understand an inkling.

was anyone able to access the Sora summon with a North American WoFF? is it in the Tearoom? i downloaded and installed the patch but no Sora medal, unless I'm missing something here? im pretty much close to the end so i dont think its a progress thing. EDIT: Just saw a RT from the KH NA twitter, this DLC is releasing Jan 24th in NA, NOT Jan 12th. This is therefore not a worldwide release on Jan 12th. It was just the patch on Jan 11th to fix bugs, etc.

That makes a lot more sense, I was like, I get the graphics on 3D were less detailed than Back Cover and 0.2, but for all that to fit in 2GB called for seriously questionable quality if that was it. I've avoided literally all screenshots and spoilers so far so I missed that one lol My Amazon order just shipped! Can't wait to start playing this on Friday... even though I'm so backlogged on my other games... FFXV, WoFF, Pokemon...

I cant say I've ever thought to compare KH to cream and water LOL (well, maybe the water part in other contexts like the sea har har har...) I get it though, the comparison haha 0.2 and BC are definitely denser to a certain extent in terms of graphics. I wonder if Square Enix considered putting 2.8 into the same disc as 1.5 and 2.5 too lol might've fit considering how much room a blu-ray disc has! Although the money...

In a way, I'm surprised the game only came out to 2.328 GB, especially with the new graphics for Back Cover and BBS 0.2. Although, I'm not surprised if DDD came out to be really small based on the fact that KH1.5 and 2.5 use the same graphics and could all fit into one disc for the March release. But Back Cover and BBS 0.2 should amount to way more data with the level of graphics those games have, although I have limited understanding of gaming software back end and how data works from that perspective. Either way, the hype is real! Jealous of everyone who opted for the download version. Can't wait til my Amazon JP preorder of the physical edition ships @___@ hoping to get it by Thursday or Friday so i'll get to play it before the influx of spoiler uploads lol

Not to sound too cynical but this is no doubt a way for people to keep KH2.8 top of mind until the release date amidst all the other distractions going on in January, especially in Japan. These wallpapers, if I'm not mistaken, are also a re-hash of the PS4 theme they're giving out with the 2.8 release. I, for one, am already distracted by the comeback of the Blue Exorcist anime for the Kyoto arc and the release of ONE OK ROCK's new album, for which the Japanese release clashes with KH on the 11th. Not that any of these are particularly in direct combat with KH from a video game perspective, but are still media distractions nonetheless and take up people's time that could have been used towards playing KH2.8. There's also the Nintendo Switch announcement on January 12th with Mario Kart 8 and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild... It is a smart marketing move, very under the radar but effective I'd say to cut through the clutter.

Watched it on a plane, kinda regretted that though because it was a beautiful masterpiece deserving of a theatrical or home TV watch. But I couldn't wait given all the hype the movie had in Japan. I remember when I first watched "Voices from a Distant Star", I wasn't really impressed with Makoto Shinkai, but I gave him a second chance will all this hype for "your name" and loved "The Garden of Words" (stunning imagery and powerful prose) and "Children Who Chase Lost Voices" (very Ghibli-esque). Loved the plot twist in "your name", fitting ending too. Can't wait to see this released on Western soil on a grander scale. RADWIMPS' soundtrack flowed pretty nicely with the movie as well.

i think theyre definitely waiting to reveal all the spec details, PS4 version changes, and potential collector's editions for 1.5+2.5 until after 2.8's out. If anything, 1.5+2.5 would prly sell more than 2.8 imo. Well, 2.8's sales will prly boost further after 1.5+2.5 is released though, when more people are able to hop on the KH train. Heck, they might even release a 1.5+2.5+2.8 combo, which would definitely not cheese off fans, but it's as complete as the series is gonna get all on one console until KH3 comes out. The dream collection would be 1.5+2.5+2.8 together, along with the soundtracks for all games... and maybe throw in a Sora figure and/or an artbook... probably a pricey collection but one can dream...

I'm surprised they didn't make this exclusive to the soundtrack, assuming we will get one for any new songs they might use in BBS fragmentary passage and Back Cover. But then again, they never released the KH soundtracks with the English theme songs, always just the Japanese versions, so I guess a digital release does help to distribute easier. Interested in hearing the full versions of the Ray of Hope Mixes (as the KH videos are only half of the length mentioned in the post) and the P's CLUB MIX. I wonder if they're also gonna show a preview of the P's CLUB MIX on the live stream event since PUNPEE will be there.

Yeah looks like the Slim, the Pro has a 7000 code, not the 2000. Looks like the top cover only works on the Slim too, no mention of it working on the Pro on the product page... Why can't they just make it Pro-compatible too... it's just not worth it imo to upgrade the PS4 to the Slim vs. the Pro...

Further to what Kingdomhe said, you can just make a JP account to buy or download anything from the JP PS Store. It's not limited to Japanese credit cards as well, so there's no limitations there from a payment standpoint. I doubt the theme is out yet though, chances are it'll be available to download when the game is released. Sad part is though, if you did download the theme, my guess is you're probably limited to the JP account that you're able to change into the KH theme on your PS4. I'm guessing cuz I haven't tried this before with a theme from the JP PS Store.

Sorry! Didn't mean to jump the gun here, just wanted to share my experience so far with my purchase of the Japanese version of the game on Amazon Japan in case anyone was new to this and wanted to give it a try too.

Just to clarify, the text actually says that the acryllic stand is the preorder bonus across all of the select retailers, not just a bonus for Amazon Japan. Other international stores like AmiAmi and CDJapan will most likely have this preorder bonus as well. Amazon Japan actually has its own additional limited bonus to the acryllic stand, which is a unique PS4 theme (see below). You can choose to buy the game with both the Amazon Japan bonus and the acryllic stand, either or, or neither on Amazon Japan. I preordered the game originally on Amazon Japan before these bonuses were announced, and it looks like I got the version with the acryllic stand but not the Amazon Japan PS4 theme, so if anyone also preordered the game earlier on Amazon Japan, looks like that'll be the version you get by default. The Amazon Japan bonus + acryllic stand version is actually sold out already for preorder as of now.

You're in for a treat! One of my favourite series so far, next to Fullmetal Alchemist. I honestly would recommend reading from the beginning because they did add a bit of filler in the anime and changed bits of the story here and there. But if you really don't want to read anything that has happened in the anime already, I'd say start from Chapter 14 because that's where the anime started to deviate from the manga. The new anime season in January 2017 will be covering the Kyoto arc, which starts at about Chapter 16 (Volume 5). I wouldn't read just an arc in this series because all the arcs are sequential and have events that lead into the next arc. The Kyoto arc ends on Chapter 34, and we're at Chapter 83 right now being the last chapter released (new chapter every 4th of a month, next being on November 4th because of the release date of the JUMP SQ. manga in Japan). So you've probably got a good 5 arcs worth of material to go through before you're caught up with the manga.

Not sure if they'll do this too, but I also hope they fix the lip syncing for Re:CoM, 358/2 Days, and Re:Coded. I've practically gotten used to it, but there's a bit of me that's still annoyed when the English voice over doesn't match the lip syncing. I saw that, with the new KH X back cover cinematics part of 2.8, each language's trailers showed footage with lip sync towards each language. I suppose either theyre using facial recognition technology when voice recording or they decided to actually do lip syncing for both English and Japanese this time.

Can't believe no one's mentioned the part with Mickey coming down from Sora's Station of Awakening to save Aqua. That whole part, from when Aqua was shoved onto the ground and when she looked up at Ven (Vanitas) and Terra(nort) so helplessly, like they were complete strangers to her, gave me chills, along with how perfect the song synced at the point that the light shined down and Mickey came down to save Aqua. When they looked at each other and held hands, it was a pretty moving scene, since it seemed like she was finally saved from being alone. Of course, the scenes of the BBS trio holding hands in the sky was amazing as well as the last scene with Aqua reaching out to Sora's hand. Anyone notice how similar the three of them spun in the air compared to a Wayfinder? Never thought of a Wayfinder like that, even though the meanings of "friends" and "being connected" are basically prevalent.

March 2017 might also be a good time to rerelease the soundtracks on blu-ray/ in hd, along with the new music from 2.8 and the new ray of hope Mixes of Hikari / Simple and Clean. this would go perfectly with the 1.5+2.5 collection.

also wondering if they'll take this chance to put capes on everyone in bbs, not that that reeeally matters but itd be cool and would actually make the graphic sequences with the capes make more literal sense... i think it was a processing issue last time for the PS3, or it was that it would take them a longer time to get the capes working and thus would delay the game release. not sure if that was the reason for the psp one or the ps3 one...
