Actually, I think that he's fourteen by the time of Black Butler II, considering that he turned thirteen in the first series and Black Butler II takes place at least a year and a half after the end of the first series.

Once you get to the top, you'll find a room and if you pull off the center tile, it will be a hole that you can fire through. Bye the way, it's right above the audience chamber."

Carte was walking down the hallway. It had been a whole ten minutes, and he hadn't found a single passageway. "Libra," he cast again, and nothing again. He continued to walk down. 'What am I looking for anymore?' he thought. He banged the wall next to him in frustration, and a hidden door slid open. 'Well that was convenient,' he thought. He walked through the hidden passage. Five more minutes later, he found that it went up. He actually managed to pry loose a block and found that he was in the roof of the audience chamber. 'Too convenient,' he thought, 'But still a good place for an assassination if he shoots through this hole.' He put the block back in it's spot and left the passage. A half hour later, he hadn't found anything else. He went back to Juian. He took the necklace of and released his invsisibility spell and said, "I found something!"

"Huh, I didn't actually think that would work," Zero said in surprise.

"Or maybe you can just let us win, that would help," Zero said.

Carte put on the necklace and cast Invisible. "I'm off!" he said, and walked down the hallway.
