  1. I might get Birth by Sleep, but I'm definitely ordering 358. Here's hoping they get Coded out sometime soon, too!
  2. That's not 1,000. I feel gipped. I paid money for this event??
  3. It is definitely over-hyped. That doesn't mean you have to up your expectations. I'm very excited for KHIII, but I recognize the flaws of the series so far and how easily it would be to make the same mistakes, plus new ones. I'm sure it will be great, you just gotta temper the hype a little bit.
  4. It's actually not. It's definitely very old-fashioned and not exactly the gold standard for representation of black people, but it's not really racist. It's actually not a bad movie tbh, but I can understand how it would offend some peoples' sensibilities. And I say this as someone who has watched it with a family of mixed kids and their black dad, who all said they liked it. Back on topic, I've always wanted to see Davy Jones in Kingdom Hearts. I'd love to hear a remixed battle version of his piano theme in a boss fight.
  5. So I guess those screenshots they released alongside the announcement weren't real, then? They look identical to the original 1.5 and 2.5. I'm hoping he's being genuine when he says there's a huge improvement graphically.
  6. 358, followed by BBS and Coded. Although I'm really only interested in 358 and Coded.
  7. KH1 is mostly just a retread of the original game. Not bad, but I'd rather just play the game. I've been debating on whether or not to create a thread praising the CoM novel for its writing and ways it got out of some of the problems the game(s) had. Like, for example, the idea that S/D/G completely lose all of their memories of each world they visit in Castle Oblivion past Traverse Town. In the novel, they only gradually lose their memories, Sora more quickly than Donald or Goofy. Oftentimes, it's Donald or Goofy that will remind Sora of a certain thing that happened in the first game and he's like, 'Oh yeah! I completely forgot about that...' The novel also takes the best dialogue out of both the GBA version and PS2 version of the game. Of course, it added in Axel's famous catchphrase, 'Got it memorized?', which wasn't written until Kingdom Hearts II, but it also added in other lines that were originally from the GBA, like Axel saying he wanted Sora to give him a 'hell of a show!' Another cool thing about the novel is the Riku perspective on the story. Not just the real Riku, but the Riku Replica. It adds so much to his character in ways the game never possibly could. And my favorite part, I can read the CoM novel in Sora's KH1 voice and it works. I can't tell you how relieved I am to have a version of the CoM storyline that doesn't have the inconsistencies of the original and I can create the way Sora should sound in my head instead of having to hear Haley Joel Osment's older voice in his younger body. (I can give a pass to DDD since it's all a dream, anyway. Not so much Coded, though, which is why it's one of the other games I want to read a novelization of) The only downsides I can say about the book is that the dialogue tends to make excuses for itself. Sometimes, Goofy will just go 'Huh? What's wrong, Sora?" to indicate that Sora has just been standing around thinking to himself without any real indication that that's what he's been doing since that's better presented in a visual medium. This happens a couple times throughout the book and it's kind of silly in its execution. TL;DR: Yes, read the CoM novel. Also, read the KH1 novel if you want, but read CoM definitely.
  8. True, but this is pretty compelling evidence for an Atlantis world. There's not really another Disney animated film that features a sub like this.
  9. In addition to that, the way Sora was holding that 'mystery Keyblade Transformation' in the screenshot makes me think he's wielding a giant hammer. Perhaps a reference to Fix-It Felix?
  10. While you guys are at it, why don't you start translating the 358, KHII, BBS, Coded and DDD novels, too? Specifically the 358 and Coded ones.
  11. All I want is the KHIIFM Drive Form slowdown fixed.
  12. I wanna say Kingdom Hearts 1 due to pure nostalgia, Kingdom Hearts II because I think Port Royal could be improved...but I think I'd rather see Dream Drop Distance remade. It's the 'first part' of Kingdom Hearts III, it's more open-world and I think the Grid would be more appropriate on current-gen hardware than PS2 graphics. This was a great question. Thank you.
  13. Doesn't make it right for these specific characters.
  14. They don't have to get together, that was never the point of their relationship. They're kids who have crushes on each other and care about each other immensely...but they're still kids. They haven't sorted their feelings out yet, they don't really have any idea how to move forward in a romantic relationship yet. Give them a couple of years.
  15. I'm assuming, then, that KHIII will be full-on daytime. 1.5 is how things go from bad to worse (Ansem to Organization XIII) 2.5 is about the worst of it, (Organization XIII and Master Xehanort defeating the BBS trio) 2.8 is about how that now we've gotten past the worst, it's time to inch our way back upwards (more Keyblade wielders coming around, realizing we need to save T/A/V, Sora slowly coming out of his dumb period, etc.) and then KHIII will be about how we've finally crawled out of the hole since we'll be defeating Xehanort for good in that game. Hopefully.
  16. I used to play swords with my cousin a lot when I was little. We actually got a pretty decent routine down and obviously I picked a few things up as time went on. I wouldn't say I'm an expert but if I had to defend myself with a sword, I might be able to hold out for, like, a minute. lol
  17. Of course it's an AMV... I do think it's funny this came out before Kingdom Hearts II, which is really when the fandom started picking up.
