  1. WHY WAS THIS CANCELED?! DOES ANYONE KNOW?? THIS LOOKS AWESOME!!! WHAT-BUT-IT WAS SO COOL- JUST-- WHHHHHYYYY?!!? And why are we just finding out about this now?? Is there any info on like what the central plot was going to be, or anything? So many questions!!
  2. That's the thing, it is supposed to be ambiguous in the game because that really is what real life is like. There are very few absolute truths, everything else is in different shades of grey. And the notion that the characters in this series or even us in real life should blindly cut down what we view as 'darkness' can end naught but with sorrow. The rejection of the ambiguity just causes additional unnecessary casualties. And painless deaths? Are we forgetting what pain Eraqus would have gone through to follow through with killing his pupils? What pain Aqua would have felt? Even the sorrow and pain and anguish in Ven or Terras final moments knowing that someone you loved and trusted KILLED you? No death is painless. It goes back to the question, should I nuke this place where my enemy lives even though I know hundreds of thousands of innocent people will die? You may hate your enemy, you may want to destroy you enemy, but you need to question at what cost is too much to destroy them. To put it in the context of the game: How far should Eraqus be willing to go, and what and who is he willing to sacrifice in order to stop Xehanort and protect the Light? If he killed his innocent pupils out right rather than exhaust every resource available to spare them, still protect the worlds and the Light, and defeat Xehanort, has he not become turned to the darkness then? He even admits it in his final moments! "My own heart has become darkness." He did not exhaust every possible resource to save the innocent, he rushed in guns blazing and tried to destroy a 16 year old kid. He could've talked and explained to Ventus what was going on, why he needed to stay home, why he needed to stay out of this fight. Heck, Eraqus could've sent Ven to Yen Sid- a powerful keyblade wielder- to have him be protected while Terra, Aqua, and he (Eraqus) went and fought Xehanort and Vanitas. Eraqus had so many options, and he chose the one that short term seemed right, but would have sacrificed an innocent human life. But then we wouldn't have a plot so, yeah. This is one of the things I love about KH, it doesn't out right claim one side is right. The characters- like real people- question whether the question light and dark should be so black and white. They question, is what I am doing really the best course of action. And they screw up, and go back and say, no I was wrong. They learn and change and move forward with new understanding of where they stand. That journey to find where we stand on these sorts of issuse, is one every human being has to go through. We will never have to go through the same situation these characters did, but the internal struggles, are all to real. All this from a game about Disney characters, Final Fantasy characters, and a kid with a Key shaped sword. It really is amazing.
  3. So the other day, I was sitting in my local book store reading the fifth volume of the 358/2 days manga when a couple approached me. I thought they were just passing by me when I heard the guy of the couple say, "Is that Xaldin...?" I look up to see him looking over my shoulder at what I'm reading. I showed him the cover of the book told him what I was reading and which volume, and he alerted his fiancée to come over to him. It turned out that they were both really big KH fans, and we proceeded to fan girl/boy out about the series for about an hour. They told me about their cosplays that they had planned, and how they were replaying through all the games and we swapped hopes for KH3 and ect ect. And then they told me that they were getting married soon and for their first dance, guess what song they are going to be dancing to. Sanctuary. I thought it was adorable how dedicated and in love they were with the series as a whole to where they were incorporating into their wedding. They were such an adorable, lovable, nerdy couple that I was truly sad when we had to split ways. It had been the first time since high school for me that I had met someone in person who was as much in love with this series as I was. Not only that but loved to just sit and talk about it with a complete stranger and fan girl/boy out for a little while. I don't know why it affected me so much, but it was just so heartwarming to meet them and spend time again with some one who shared a love for Kingdom Hearts. They were just the most adorable couple, and it was such a joy meeting some fans again. We actually never exchanged names the whole time so dear Canton, OH Booksamillion shopper and Kingdom Hearts fan, if you are on kh13 reading this please comment that it was you! You guys rocked and I hope your wedding goes great! Have any of you met or are a hardcore KH couple? Do tell.
  4. Major props. That looks amazing! I wish I could draw like that...
  5. The term hero is very subjective- it can mean such different things between different people. Ive heard some say that heroes are like an ideal person, perfect in nearly every way. Something we should want to live up to but could never be. Ive heard some say that a hero is some one who does the right thing for the simple reason that it is right. And so on and so forth. I bring this up because I had a thought about Axel and how I thought he was a rather unlikely hero. And I asked my self, is he really a hero? Is he an anti hero? Or, something in between? And I began to think of every character in every series that I have ever called or heard been called a hero. I thought about it and I came to the conclusion that, yes Axel is worthy of being called a hero. But I also came to another conclusion about what a hero is. A hero, is someone who despite all else, tries to do what is right. There is always going to be a strong argument for and pull towards- to put in KH terms- the darkness. And I really think that the mere push against that argument, the decision to, for better or worse, despite all the hardships and consequences that may come in following the light, a hero chooses to follow it, and try to see it through to the end. Whether they make it their lives goal, or take up the mantle for only a little while, whether they are the idea person, or an imperfect anti hero, I think they still deserve the tittle of hero. What is your definition of a hero?
  6. H-to the E to the CK NO!! It would lose so much of its charm and uniqueness. Although I do think the need to rework how they work those worlds in. Like I couldn't stand how they handled plots and stories in the worlds in 3D. It was rushed and the writing wasn't as good or as tight as say KH2. I was very disappointed- especially with how they handled Hunchbacks world. I think the game is better for having the Disney worlds, but they really need to put a lot more effort back into how they handle those worlds really.
  7. I always assumed it was the special way someone dies or disappears when they are killed by the keyblade. Its a magical weapon so it would make sense that when youre killed by it your body dies differently. Remember when goofy got hit in the head and everyone thought he had died from it? Sure he wasnt really dead but everyone thought he was. They thought he was dead even though his body was left behind. This proves that this disappearing or fading away death is reserved for beings like nobodies, heartless, replicas, and those who are killed or destroyed by the keyblade.
  8. Has anyone given any though to nobodies existing in the future will be like? I mean, as long as there are heartless stealing hearts, there will always be nobodies, lesser and humanoid, being formed. I wonder if there are any out there in the KH world that the organization never found, or perhaps being made later in the series. I wonder if we will ever hear about them again. Especially about the lesser nobodies like dusks and the like. They were led by the organization, now what will they do? I mean, were they all destroyed at the end of KH2? I doubt it. And really, after our heroes find out that defeating someones nobody and a heartless can restore them, I would have thought Sora would have jumped and been like, we have to go and defeat all those lesser nobodies then so that their somebodies will be restored! I wonder if the nobodies will ever appear again at all in the series... As for the heartless, I wonder if they are gonna touch on how the Keyblade wielders fight is an eternal one against the heartless. How Sora, and Riku and Kairi now I guess can never really go home because they are now the protectors of many worlds against the heartless. I think it would make for an awesome cut scene, telling sora that his goal since he first set out in kh1 can never be fully realized. He may find his friends, but he can never really go home and stay there. Itll be interesting to see what they do in kh3 and beyond on these points for sure. What do you all think?
  9. Although I do wonder how they are going to address the whole, 'When a heartless is defeated by the keyblade, they come together to create kingdom hearts' eventually thing. I mean, if the Keyblade wielders adventures continue on for a long time, and release enough hearts, wont the kingdom hearts built from other peoples hearts reform again?
  10. Cookies?!! For me? Dawh, thank you OMNOMNOMNOM!
  11. I too hold the theory that yen sid was their master but I was just giving a theory about the skull. I doubt its true- its a bit morbid for Disney- but it was the first thing I thought when I saw it and thought it sounded cool. I still think that idea would make an awesome fan fic
  12. Why thank you Pandy Monium. Now that I think about it, some one needs to turn that into a fanfic, that story would be epic.
  13. what if it belonged to a friend of his that turned to the darkness- like with Eraqus and Xehanort? Perhaps, in their time, Yen Sid and this skull too were friends, but chose separate paths. His friend chose the dark and began to wreck havoc on the worlds. And when his friends deeds became too monstrous to ignore, Yen Sid cut him down. Filled with guilt at not being able to save his friend from the darkness, and feeling worse for not stopping him sooner, Yen Sid retired as a Master. Perhaps he felt he was unworthy of the job anymore and dedicated his life to helping other heroes not in battle, but to steer them on the proper path with wisdom. Perhaps he kept his friends skull to remind him that he must always keep the order and safety of the worlds his main priority- over friends and all sentimental feelings. And perhaps he made it a candle so that when he lit it, it served as a reminder of the light and happiness his friend gave him in his life. But also as a reminder of the shadows his friend spread and the need for clarity in his decisions and a protector of worlds.
  14. I actually really like the name Axel for a kids name. Also, I don't know why but I also really like the name Roxas. I just like the way it sounds and I also really like the character. I don't know if I would name a kid that though, it is a rather strange name. Thing that bugs me though, when I hear people say you shouldn't name a kid after a book/movie/video game character, is the fact that there really isn't anything wrong with it. Its like naming someone after a relative you really like or respect, or a person in your life that was a big influence. Does it really matter so much that the person the name came from isn't real? If the character means that much to you, if they have impacted your life in a way you cant imagine being with out, what matters if they really exist or not? They made a difference in your life, and if you want to honor them by keeping their name alive in anothers life, I don't really see the problem.
  15. Ive been turning this over in my head for the last few weeks, and i was really unsure if i should even post it here but eh why not. I (like so many) grew up playing video games, and i have grown to love them even more as i have grown. But over the years i have noticed something. I dont have many friends IRL who play video games, and of those few only one has ever played KH. And over the years of knowing gamers and talking with these games, inevitably growing up with games comes up. And always in these conversations do i realise that how i grew up with games is very different from how- with out exception among people ive met- other people i know did. Short background, i am a girl. I grew up with the GBA and DS when they first came out, and i went to a rather small private elementary school with an overwhelmingly large male student body compared to the number of females. I grew up playing video games all by myself. I didnt meet anyone until well into high school that i could play video games with, or even talk about with (out side of here). I recall going to my elementary school and bringing my DS or GBA and asking to play with others who were always boys- i never saw a girl my age playing video games at this school. And constantly being regected and told i couldnt play because i was a girl. So i played alone. When i became a middle schooler, video games became for 'babies' so no one else played- at least openly like i did. So again i played alone and was critisized for not only liking video games, and being a girl, but for being an 'immature baby.' When ever i tell people this they always look at me like, 'Wow that sounds so sad.' And go on to tell me how they grew up playing with friends all the time, through all their years in school. It got me thinking, was my exp really that different from so many other peoples? I mean yeah, i wished i had had a bunch of gamer friends growing up but it just didnt happen. I always figuered that tons of people must have grown up like me playing alone and ridiculed for what they liked. But from who ive talked to (this is like about 20 people in all, all of whom went to differnt schools) this seems to not have been the case. 20 is a miniscule sample size though, so i thought id post it here and see. So, did you grow up solo gaming, or with a bunch of friends connected through your love of video games? Also, if you want, share your exp growing up with games.
  16. I cant believe it has taken me 4 years to post this here, but ahwell. Back in 2011, I was in a program for High School students who think they want to become teachers. We had to at one point go and assist teachers from an elementary school with their classes, and also observe it and stuff. One day I was doing this, I was out in the halls running an errand or something when I found myself walking past a first grade class room. Next to the door, on the wall, were stickers with the names of the kids in the class and their teacher. As I walked by, a name caught may eye. At first I thought I had misread it, so I stopped and went back to read it again. And there on a butterfly sticker was the name, 'KAIRI'. I thought it was kinda cool that there was a kid named after a KH character in the class, but my mind was blown when I noticed close by to it was another butterfly that read, 'SORA'. I could not believe it. I looked at all the other names thinking it would be too perfect if there was another with the name RIKU on it. But it seemed to be too perfect to be because there wasn't. But I still found it such an awesome coincidence. I wonder if they were friends in the class, or if they still know each other now. Eh, I think that would be too perfect to be. Have you guys ever encountered someone named after a kh character?
  17. I would've made 358/2 days on either the ps2 or psp instead of on the ds. I think it woulda looked better. And on that note, kept the console they release stuff on consistant. Other than that... Maybe have found a better way to explain the time travel thing or made it simpler. Other than that, nothing. Its fine the way it is.
  18. Welcome to the world of Pokémon- no im just kidding! LOL! couldn't resist. Im just curious as to the ratio of guy to girl kh fans. If you want, include your name. Names Juliana.
  19. That still doesn't explain why when old xehanort stabbed himself no nobody was created though.
  20. I get the whole, 'Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story' thing, but for discussions sake can we talk about it? Pretty please?
  21. Please specify also USA- Ohio
  22. Ok, so recently I was rewatching all the BBS cutscenes and a question came into my mind that I couldn't answer. After Terra fights Xehanort in the Keyblade graveyard, and Xehanort stabs himself releasing is heart, why is no nobody created? I get why no heartless is created- his heart is in Terras body and thus found a new host and home to occupy. But when his heart is released from his body, his soul and body are left behind- which is the process for a nobody to be created. His body also fades away in a similar manner that Soras did when he stabbed himself in KH1- thus creating Roxas in Twilight Town. I assume if his (Xehanorts) body and soul had died from the release of his heart, it would've either faded away differently or his body just would've collapsed as an intact corpse. So we all know that Xemnas is Terranorts nobody, so he cant be the original Xehanorts nobody. So that made me ask, what then happened to the original Xehanorts body and soul? I mean, I don't think his body died because well it looked exactly the same as Soras process of turning into a nobody rather than a death, and how would he- a dead original Xehanort- be able to come back reformed after Xemnas and Ansem SoD were destroyed ... ...I just realized something...Why did the original Xehanort come back and not Terranort? I mean, Xemnas was Terranorts body and soul, and Ansem SoD was his heartless. So then, when they were both destroyed, why did Xehanort come back in his old form rather than in Terranorts form? Terranort was the one who should've been reformed not the original Xehanort....Unless im missing something.... But yeah even if you over look that why would the release of the original Xehanorts heart not make any sort of nobody? And if his body did in fact die, leaving his consciousness to live in Terranort, why then would the destruction of Ansem SoD and Xemnas bring back old Xehanort and not Terranort? I mean, even if old Xehanort body and soul had died, not making a nobody, and his consciousness was still alive in Terranorts newly reformed body, it shouldn't have reformed looking like old Xehanort. If he had died, his body would've been gone. How can this be? Am I just missing something? I don't think I am...But if I am I am sure you all will inform me of what I am missing! Thanks!
  23. And even when the 13 and 7 come together, where does it say they need to stick around? Once the X blade is created, I always figured that that was that, its created. Is it really tied to all of them sticking together in the same place forever? Or is it just the way to summon it and then when the x blade now exists people can now use it as they please.
  24. what were you 'wondered' by? what did you think? Any funny thoughts or misconceptions like my 'I thought vexen was a girl for the longest time' one?
