From their FAQ page: "March Caprice (and Reconnect) were born out of our love for the series, the community, and creation. We still cherish those feelings dearly. However, running this event for the past 7 years and putting our entire hearts and souls into the project, we felt it was appropriate to release these projects to the public. March Caprice is a holiday that still exists even without formal events. Anytime you release KINGDOM HEARTS content during the month of March, you’re celebrating the heart of March Caprice. Feel free to wish your fellow KH fan a “Happy March Caprice” and use #MarchCapriceKH on social media even after our 2027 event. Reconnect works the same way. Anytime you gather with other KH fans, you’re Reconnect-ing. With KINGDOM HEARTS IV arriving in late 2027, we look forward to what the new batch of Kingdom Hearts fans come up with, and what the new era holds. We'll be celebrating right there with you!" My guess is that they just got tired and felt like it was the right time with KH4 around the corner. Also 7 is the funny Kingdom Hearts number.

Judging by the signups, it looks like more people care about this than the last one! 😁

All good! AU's are absolutely allowed! They just have to be related to KH in some way. Original content (be it art of OCs, original music, etc.) are very encouraged!

The theme is just for the visual theme of the event. Submissions can be anything, even if they aren't related to the theme. You can submit once per every category, so an art piece and a writing piece would be great!

Oh hey, im the Ephemer in this shot and my friend is the strelitzia!

Introducing March Caprice! A virtual gathering of Kingdom Hearts fans that showcases and supports the incredible hard work, projects, and talents of the community! We invite all who wish to show off their latest content, ideas, and more to participate and join us in celebrating this incredible series! So far we have plenty of music, writing, art, and videos for all to enjoy, and we'd love to see more entries flood in. Some of the deadlines are coming up in two weeks, so be sure to sign up soon. For those just wanting to attend the event, it will be held entirely digitally during March 25-27, with each participant hosting their content in a previously assigned time slot. The event schedule will be posted closer to the due date. We will be updating you live on our website and Twitter (@MarchCapriceKH) on what the current event is and where to find it, so make sure to follow us on different platforms to stay tuned!
