I hate dolls even now and all the horror games I've played certainly didn't help with that. Thankfully this one does not look nearly as creepy as my grandmother's.

Kingdom Hearts III set to appear at New York Comic-Con 2018!
I'm probably more on the pessimistic side. This way, I won't be disappointed and at the same time, it's also a pleasant surprise. (Though I can't deny that there's a tiny part that is always hoping for even a scrap of news.) Said pessimism makes me think that, even though there are not that many events left, it's a bit too soon for anything exceptionally new after TGS is just over. They could probably show off a lot if they wanted to but other games also don't have that many and frequent trailers. I'm not among those who mind some spoilers, but I don't see a need to be swamped with information either. Since it's almost October, Jump Festa wouldn't be that different from the time between E3 and TGS. There's also Paris Games Week coming up, which I wouldn't have considered an event where news could be presented until 0.2. I don't think it's completely impossible for news to drop at NYCC either though. It just seems a little soon but with SENA and Disney, we never know.

Rumour has it a Sora smash reveal is coming...maybe during tonight's stream?
Same. It's a nice game to play with friends but otherwise not that interesting to me since I'm not competitive. Though I have my concerns regarding Disney. They were against a Dissidia type of game so who knows what they'd say to Smash? While not completely the same, they're still fairly similar regarding the genre.

Kingdom Hearts III Main Stage Event shows off new Keyblade Transformation and character footage!
Acting? While I usually don't watch many of these type of events with hosts talking all over the video, it's probably boring to have them react all blandly. I've seen a few Japanese shows with similar "reveals" and they also acted all surprised and enthusiastic, admittedly sometimes a little over the top, despite knowing what will come. At least they should know because putting people on a stage to present something without them having any clue might not be the best idea. (Apart from the fact that he should of course know because he's the VA and obviously part of the scene. )

REALLY? They spoiled the Aqua fight COME ON!
I agree that it is a spoiler, although I also agree that it is a comparably minor one in my opinion due to the already mentioned arguments. I think it's impossible to avoid spoilers unless you plan to stay off the internet and have no contact whatsoever with KH or anyone knowing it, but we all know that's nearly impossible to do. Even if they hide it in a spoiler tag, people will talk about it. As for SE, I really don't think they revealed anything too ground-breaking...

TGS presentation begins in 28 minutes!
But KH starts at 12:50 JST, right?

Initially I thought that I would definitely prefer the traditional artwork, but imagining a 3D animation give me an impression of a relaxing feeling with the soft sound of the waves, maybe a lighter coloring reminiscent of the artworks... Ah, that sounds just so pretty and calming. This is not to say an artwork can't be, but perhaps a part of that desire for traditional title screens comes from our nostalgia and because many found 0.2's lackluster.

Urgh, I can't decide what I like better... I'm honestly adoring the traditional artwork for the title screen, especially because 0.2 wasn't my favorite, but I think your idea could look really beautiful and atmospheric if done right. That's a really difficult decision...

It's not like your theory is a complete shot in the dark anyway. I coukd understand skepticism to some degree if it was really far-fetched, but it isn't so I don't see the point why some would argue against that in an uncivilized manner. There are many things speaking for that and some leaning more toward a different view, so I value that just as much as my opinion and do take it into consideration as something than can happen in the game.

Truer words have never been spoken. I honestly don't get all the salt toward theories. Isn't that what's fun to think about, especially because we have the luxury to be able to do that right now when things are unclear yet. Many things won't ever get an answer but this particular one likely will. I don't mind being wrong either, then I just enjoyed the different views people had and that's it. No drama, no exaggerated anger toward opinions.

recently on Youtube and Tumblr for example. And the confrontations and messages I received just for having a different mindset were just low, especiakly because we are all just speculating and grasping at straws here.

I'm not saying either faction is wrong, just that I agree with you that it is pointless arguing over something with no solution in sight until the game tells us what's going on. Quite a few people easily adopted the notion that she's a vessel, which is not unlikely, and are taking that as face value and I don't want to hear the complaints when it turns out she isn't and other people being smug about it. I'm not talking about you here, just some things I've seen rec...

I can understand that. I don't mind discussions but being told that your theory is stupid and wrong even though there's nothing to prove or disprove it is just plain ridiculous. I personally don't think she's been norted but to be honest, the only arguments either side have do nothing to really prove our claims. Most opinions I've read are understandable but getting upset at another person for not supporting a theory is childish.

Yeah, that's exactly in my line of thinking. It's not an uncommon trope to use that the main characters are searching for something or someone and it's been them all along. I'm not saying it absolutely will happen, but it's not exactly unlikely either. Of course Master Keeper is also a potential option, though we still don't know how they even know what to search for or that this key even exists. I still think it's not a literal key, or Keyblade, though.

It's probably something cheesy like Sora himself or something along those lines.

Don't get me wrong, I'm overall fairly happy with how it looks, but in comparison to the Disney characters, the original ones are not nearly as consistent and a bit more flat with how their eyes move and their facial depth. Still, it looks much better than 0.2 initially did,I'm just a little thrown off by how late details are fixed in this game regarding characters and saw them change something for the worse in 0.2 for example where Aqua suddenly looked orange and inflated.

I think it's also noteworthy that it does not affect every cutscene and some look fine to me, which is probably why those tinted in an extreme sunset orange bother me most. It could still change of course but I feel that this is a bit more noticeable than, let's say, Sora in San Fransokyo, who had a nicer skin tone which looked a little more even and not quite aa prone to unnecessary reflections.

Yeah, that would be it. I feel like this notion of making characters fit in demanded sacrifices on the end of expressiveness because it requires an equal amount of detail. Since UE4 excels in backgrounds and effects quite impressively, the characters had to follow and it just feels a little odd for cartoonish characters to mirror that level of detail. I've watched many anime/cartoons and also played games and most favored emotional capacity over level of detail.

My statement mainly affects characters, not the environment. The chess pieces look fine, the backgrounds as well. But Eraqus' face doesn't look really organic to me. The skin looks inflated and unnatural, the eyes aren't really reflecting anything and all in all I personally prefer simple but expressive features with little but effective lighting to highlight emotions. But to each their own.

I realize that people have different mindsets about that ane not everyone values expressive and lively features as much as I do but KH3 is really inconsistent with that, especially for original characters. More is not necessarily better. They're prone to overdoing the lighting, 0.2 has shown that as well. I don't find it necessary for characters to merge with their surroundings. Sticking out a little helps focusing on them.

In my opinion, it is better not to overdo the lighting in characters in that art style. The expressiveness of faces and their emotions suffer from too many shadows hiding the features. If a style is too intricate for eyes, actual movements are harder to detect because they get lost in the lighting. Apart from easier use, it's also a reason why cartoons and animated movies often use them sparingly so the focus lies on the characters' faces.

It's actually not. Skin does not reflect light like plastic does. It receives a bit of that color but the only reason light would reflect off of skin would be if the skin is oily. It's a matter of subjective opinion, but the face of Eraqus looked much better in the 2015 trailer. His skin looked smoother, it was not an evening sun like in Twilight Town and the eyes were simpler, actually reflected light and did not look painted on.

Merilly's status update
I don't quite understand why so many people think the chess scene looks better than in the 2015 trailer... Honestly, Eraqus is glowing orange and his face is flat and not as expressive in comparison.

Couldn't agree more. But I trust SE to disclose only as much as we can handle until it confuses us. 3D and such were apparently spoiled by trailers showing endgame content but to be honest, the context was missing. I also don't think there will be many trailers leftand those will likely focus more on the new/returning worlds we haven't seen so far.

That's true but the more info they put out regarding those vague scenes, the clearer it becomes. That's why I'd be glad if they don't show much more. To be honest, I'm almost expecting it to be Data Roxas. Or maybe even Ventus, since they both have the same hairstyle. Of course Roxas is the closest choice but I feel like it's odd to show him like this, especially when they're making a huge deal out of rescuing him.
