People who try to defend KH HD ReMixes
I don't think you quite understand; it is proven to happen in every copy, that is not a matter of opinion. It is not a "disc problem" or a "bad copy". Everyone will experience at least some of these issues. Bad loading, glitches, pause lags, crashes, etc. Whether you run into it or not is not my problem, but you cannot counter the fact that it occur in every single copy of the HD remixes. Also yes, I'm comparing the HD remixes to KH3 because the same team is making it. Is it an unfair comparison? Probably. However, it's just a warning to people who think these issues aren't a problem, those who want Square to hurry up and rush KH3, because this is the perfect example of a rushed product. I'm not overreacting, or else 90% of this community would be overreacting to KH3. All I'm saying is to raise some awareness, but you seem to act as if I just hating on the HD ReMixes. Let me make this clear. I am not hating on the HD ReMixes. I am saying that they could've been made better and less lazily to maximize our gaming experience. It's true. These are minor issues and for the most part, many will not run into it. However you have to understand; issues are issues, and if we want the best for our future KH games, I think it's fair to make Square at least aware of the issues that we've run into. We should always strive for the best games possible from our gaming companies, and this is no different. You don't understand my point; I don't think any of these issues make the game actually bad or unplayable. However, some can interfere with gameplay experience which is exactly why I wanted to point this out. You'd be surprised at the number of people trying to defend 2.5 just because it's 2.5. So other people haven't experienced these glitches and loved the game, good for them. However, if they come up and say 2.5 is flawless and Square has been doing a good job with the games, what'll that make them think? That doing a subpar, lazy job is enough for our gameplay experience? That we'll be satisfied with everything they give out, even if it's complete garbage? They can like the game; I'm not stopping them from that at all. They can go through the game without any glitches or care in the world about the bad loading and never run into crashes. They can have an amazing gameplay experience. However, if they say that issues in 2.5 don't exist and continue pretending Square wasn't creating a lazily made port, they are wrong. This is not an opinion as you pointed out, it's clear fact. These glitches and bugs exist on EVERY disk of KH2.5, and that, you cannot disprove. You guys are assuming I'm hating on the game, which I'm not. I wont' lie, I enjoyed 2.5's experience. I enjoyed playing 2FM in English, I enjoyed BBS with better controls. I enjoyed 1.5's cutscene skips, playing 1FM in English, playing Re:CoM in HD. I loved all these things. However, what I cannot forgive are the existence of these issues. Does it matter much? Not really. Does it affect my gameplay experience? Occasionally, but it's not like it'll make me despise the game. I want to make that clear. What I WAS complaining about are the existence of these issues. I don't care how significant or insignificant these issues are. If they exist, they're there. KH2.5 and 1.5 are HD ReMixes, and while 1.5 can be excused, 2.5 is infinitely worse than 2FM original (excluding graphics and music obviously). That, to me, is a sign of laziness from Square. If they make games with bugs and glitches as a result of trying to meet a certain timeframe, I don't want people rushing them to have KH3 come out because it could potentially have the same problems. Will it affect your gameplay experience? Maybe a little. However, we should be striving for the best from our video game companies, so why would you want a KH3 with bugs and glitches, when you can have a flawless KH3 that's fluid and stable, and overall just an amazing experience? That was the point I was trying to get across; don't deny that these issues exist, because they do. If you haven't seen them or think they don't affect your experience, good for you. However, they can affect other people, which is also why we should work our hardest to avoid such things in the future of KH. If it still doesn't make sense to you, think of it this way: even if you supported Square in the porting of the HD Remixes, what will you get from it? What will you accomplish? At least using constructive criticism can potentially get you somewhere, and give Square a hint to "not rush their games". Simply sitting and acting like 2.5 is 100% okay and flawless won't get you anywhere, so you may as well use the opportunity to raise some awareness.

People who try to defend KH HD ReMixes
I feel like you all have your priorities wrong. If you try and defend the HD ReMixes and their issues, you are wrong. It is not an opinion of whether the game is good or bad. It is a fact that these problems exist, and that they show what happens if you rush Square and/or they get lazy. Don't do that to KH3. When people say "I disagree because I have never encountered any of these (glitches) (freezes) (crashes) that you mentioned," do you realize how poor of an argument that is? "Wow, I've never seen this happen before so it must NEVER happen right?" It's really when you say that to yourself is when you see how absurd and ridiculous your own words mean. I don't care if you've never seen a crash in 2.5 before, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It's not a disc problem; it exists on every disc. Go Limit Form in the Xemnas 1 fight at the beginning and then revert after he puts the orb draining move on you. 9 times out of 10, your game will crash, which is absolutely unacceptable because that is an IN-GAME MECHANIC that should never result in something like a game crash. Summon Bambi in Monstro chambers and walk around in 1.5; the game will crash. Idle too long in a start menu; the game will crash. Random and consistent pause lags at the beginning of fights in 2.5; unbearably long loadtimes, most apparent in 2.5 (1.5 also has long load times but is often looked over due to the newly added cutscene skips). These are all real issues that exist. It doesn't matter if you've run into them 10 times or none, it doesn't matter if it doesn't affect you the slightest; the fact that they exist and CAN affect a player's experience is proof that it's an issue from Square's horrible porting and laziness. Please don't defend Square for making these errors. The Final Xemnas fight in 2.5 is not one time thing or a disc thing. It basically tells me that Square did not bother testing that fight (or even the entire game) at all, because if they did, there is no way they would miss something as obvious as that. It literally makes the fight on higher difficulties impossible without the use of spamming Limits for invincibility. You won't get anything from defending Square on these issues. So for a moment, just put down your fanboy/girl-ism and stop pretending Square has been doing a great job so far, because if you do, they'll do the same "great job" for KH3 and make it terrible and filled with bugs and glitches. Constructive criticism is never a bad thing; just because the game is part of your favorite series does not mean it is perfect. KH2FM (PS2) is my favorite game of all time in my favorite series of all time. Does that mean it's perfect? Not at all; it's filled with issues actually. So don't be so stubborn with the other games. Be accepting of the mistakes and problems it has, and work to have Square fix them. I just wanted to get that little bit out there. Thanks for reading

Have you ever played Chain of Memories on the GBA?
Personally think CoM was better than Re:CoM in almost every single way (aside graphics obviously). It was just generally a better made game. Absolutely loved it the first time, still do.

Kingdom Hearts Storyline in 3 Minutes
KH story explained in 3 words: A convoluted mess. In all seriousness though, I think listening to this video really just shows how absurd the KH storyline is.

Issues/Problems with KH2?
This. KH1 perfected this so well because they integrated the story plot into each individual Disney World. You didn't get to Neverland just to pass through; you went there, found Kairi being held captive, and needed to team up with Peter Pan to get Kairi back. You didn't go to Agrabah because you just needed to pass through; you needed to go to seal the Keyhole there and prevent Jafar from plunging the world into darkness. What was the goal of all this? To stop Maleficent, the evil witch mastermind behind all of this. And after all this is done, you find out there's someone else behind Maleficent that's been plotting against her the whole time, and you as the hero needed to seek Ansem out and stop him. It's so simplistic but so well done, and no other KH game captures this type of story. Now it's just like "Castle of Dreams! Awesome, let me just pass through here and check really quickly...nope no one of importance is here, time to move onwards. But wait, I need to beat this random boss first because that would make the game progression make sense!" KH2 did this partially well; as someone mentioned, Beast's Castle's story is what I want all the world's stories of KH2 to be like. The Org. Members interfering with the worlds, and you needed to stop them because who knows what type of crazy stuff is gonna go down if they complete Kingdom Hearts. Regarding exploration, I personally didn't have too big of a gripe with that because I don't necessarily mind linear games, as long as it's still fun to play. In my opinion, once you understand KH2's combat system and its depth, the "linear gameplay" really doesn't affect my experience that much and I still enjoy it a lot; that being said, I think I can see why some people won't like it.

Issues/Problems with KH2?
So this isn't something that I see very often; KH2 is probably the most liked KH game in the entire series, and for good reason too. But the thing is, people tend to treat it as if it's some sort of angelic game that was descended from the heavens with absolutely zero flaws to it, which unfortunately really isn't true. So yeah, I'm curious on some of your input on the flaws of KH2 and how it could've been better. I'd say between story and gameplay, story was the weaker part of KH2. Organization XIII was awesome and all, and I'm not calling the story bad either; however, I just don't think it can compare to the first game's story and the charm it had in it. That doesn't make it bad of course, since the first game's story was just so exceptionally good. That being said, it would've been cool to see a bit more involvement of Disney Worlds in the direct story like KH1 did so well. So in terms of gameplay, people say it's perfect. And really, I don't have much to argue with you there. The battle system is amazing, the combat is fluid and fun to use, and there's so much variety and choices for your moves. The enemy AI, for the most part, is good and is by far the most complex and skill-required combat system in the entire series. However, I'd have two main complaints for KH2 (which actually sort of ties into each other). Firstly is of difficulty. People say KH2 is easy, and to be fair, it really is. Even stuff like Proud Mode, most players can charge through mashing X and they'll die a few times to the harder fights (Xaldin, Demyx, Xigbar, etc.) but then they'll get past them, usually through grinding or just repeated attempts. This ties into the second complaint, which is of the game's ability to teach you. I'd say CoM actually did this the best out of all the KH games; you go into CoM utterly confused, but if you stick with it and get past the learning curve, you suddenly realize how easily you can use the cards and the battle system to customize your own powerful deck. It's not like the game tells you directly to do "this and this", but instead, you learn because the game PLACES you in situations where you're forced to learn. KH2 should've done this, but failed. Many casual players will get through the game just fine by mashing X. It's only until they see stuff like speedruns or inevitably reach the post-game 15(is it 15? I'm not even sure) super bosses where they realize that the game is a lot more complex than they thought. That's the thing; despite KH2's complexity, the game never really forces you understand this. It never forces you to understand the vague concept of Revenge Value and how you can't infinitely combo a boss, since you can mash your way through most fights and just tank the damage they deal anyway. You don't need summons, limits, drives, and magic. They don't put you in situations where you're forced to use these things to make your life easier. And that is the problem with KH2; with all these awesome things they give you and these awesome AI mechanics, you never really understand what the point to them is...unless you play Level 1 Critical Mode. I love LV1 Crit. It's the perfect challenge, and it forced me to learn the game to the fullest. I had to use every resource available to inch my way forward, only to meet another road block, and eventually find out, "hey, this attack works really well against this guy!" and then manage to win. KH2 should've been designed originally after the model of LV1 Crit, because it truly forces you to think about all the available options you have. This is also the reason why others call KH2 a button masher; because in some ways, it actually is one. So yeah that's my little interpretation of KH2 and its flaws. Curious if you guys have any opinions on this, it'd be cool to know

Staggering in KH1
Staggering in KH1 wasn't completely necessary due to the primitive combat system. Even if the enemy doesn't stagger, you won't be affected much since you can't be combo'd like in other KH games. However, I think I know what you're talking about by "non-staggering" and it really doesn't even come close to BBS and DDD's level of unstaggerable (that's not a word lmao) enemies. KH1 enemies definitely stagger. Sephiroth staggers and teleports immediately after you deal 4 hits to him consecutively. Unknown staggers when he is open or when you stun him with something like Gravity. These bosses stagger; it's just not as obvious since you most likely attempted to hit them when they were attacking you, which obviously means that they won't stagger.

KH3 Pessimist.
Alright, I'll admit I did kind of stretch it by saying "they did no testing", but if they were careless enough to let some of these things they've done slip, it's clear that they're showing signs of laziness. Who cares if they did testing, if the Final Xemnas fight still can't work properly? It's quality over quantity; I don't care if they tested the game a million test before release, if the quality of the game is bad, then it means all that testing was worth nothing. That's the problem; the game has careless mistakes and bugs that could've been avoided to make the game better, but they let them all slip. Did you know loading times one 2.5 Eng is slower than 2.5 JP? It's believed that this is due to Osaka layering the English text/Voices OVER the JP voices instead of removing them completely because they were lazy, thus slowing down loading times even more; I mean, you can't possibly get any lazier than that. Bugs and glitches are produced under random circumstances, yes, but they had a model to go by. These weren't new games; they were original games remastered. I just don't understand how you can defend them when they've taken these amazing games from the PS2 and somehow made glitches and bugs even more prominent in the game itself. I don't care if it doesn't affect you or your friends, or you've never experienced it. The point is that these exist due to their carelessness, and it shouldn't.

KH3 Pessimist.
The more unstable versions of the game are 2.5 ENG and 1.5 JP. But yeah, I can't personally speak for you whether it's happened or not, but maybe you didn't notice because it's not a disk thing like a bunch of people claim it is; every single copy has it. For example, 1.5 JP is prone to random crashes in Monstro Chambers from literally walking around. There's also random times when texture doesn't load ( ) which results in game crashing, as well as random game crashes just out of nowhere from doing absolutely nothing wrong (like summoning Simba, in this video: ) 2.5 has a few discovered crashes that weren't in the original game, the most infamous of which is the Xemnas 1 crash, where if you go Limit Form in the fight and he uses the little energy absorption move (that requires the Building RC), you crash the game. See: https://youtu.be/-HbWidobNPk?t=2m2s Another infamous 2.5 thing (which was also a problem in the JP version) is the Final Xemnas RC glitch, where his reaction commands "Reversal" randomly disappears and you basically get destroyed for absolutely no reason at random. It's even worse on higher difficulties because missing an RC can cause death, and it's not even your fault; it's because they somehow managed to screw up the fight when remaking it. Aside from that, there are minor pause lags ( https://youtu.be/bKag3XUrNOE?t=1m30s ) ( https://youtu.be/vCSW4fyoCWI?t=53s ) that appear in a lot of the fights, the ones I listed are just a few examples. Those tiny pauses isn't because of the recording, it's because the game actually pauses there for half a second. I know it seems like a minor complaint, but you have to understand how unprofessional and lame it looks, especially when they could've avoided it. So yeah, it's not like the game crashes every other second, and for the most part, a casual player would get through the game without it crashing. However, the fact that it can happen randomly without any warning and these things weren't in the original game is just a sign of Osaka Team's laziness. Anyways, think I've rambled on for long enough. Hopefully that proves my point I mean I really don't see what you're trying to say here. I'm just saying that even having random crashes and softlocks are a sign of laziness. It could've been avoided, but they chose not to do any testing apparently before releasing the game. Crashes and softlocks are inevitable, but that doesn't mean the game should crash just because you idle on the Start Menu for half an hour, or use Limit Form in a fight, or use an in-game Summon. That doesn't mean it's okay to literally get rid of half the RCs in the Final Xemnas fight for absolutely no reason, making the fight pretty much impossible on higher difficulties without the use of spamming Limits for invincibility. That's unacceptable, and I don't want to see a team that's been making these careless mistakes to be working on KH3. That's what I'm saying.
-
KH3 Pessimist.
That may be true, but other PS3 games were not glitchy and prone to crashes. If they could do it, why couldn't Square? I mean I don't think there's any excuse; they didn't even need to make a new game, they just needed to make the old ones look better, and they somehow even screwe that up.

KH3 Pessimist.
Haha yeah, I'm one of those people. You're completely entitled to your own opinion; you can like whichever game you want. I'm kind of a hardcore KH gamer, so I see the games very analytically, which is why I tend to have an issue with BBS and DDD. After replaying the game multiple times, the only way I can get a challenge is to play on a high difficulty, but then I'm forced to spam the same attacks over and over again due to the game's bad balancing and AI, which I hope you can understand gets very boring after awhile. Why should I sit here and spam the same attacks over and over when I can play KH2, where the gameplay can be fun even if it's my 20th playthrough? Anyways, I think I see KH3 this way because I'm most likely gonna play the crap out of it when it comes out, regardless if it's good or bad. That being said, I will most likely view it in a critical way like I view the previous KH games, because that's just how I interpret the game when I play it. No software is perfect, and it is impossible to have absolutely no glitches and crashes. However, 1.5 and 2.5 failed miserably in the aspect, as they literally added glitches and crashes from the original. You're right; making a new game is different to remastering an old game. However, my point still stands: if Osaka team have been shown to be lazy with HD Remakes, I don't have a lot of confidence in them to make KH3 as "flawless" (or as you say, to "hide these glitches") as possible. They can prove me wrong; KH3 can be almost perfect in terms of stability. But I still worry and I'll still have a pessimist mindset. Thats something I can't really change. Also I believe there will be additional help after FFXV, but I'm pretty sure Nomura mentioned somewhere that the game will be about 80% (or something like that) made by Osaka Team, which is once again, more than enough to make me worry about it.
-
KH3 Pessimist.
Why should I have faith when all they've done so far is make bad games though? Blind faith won't get me anywhere. I can't just sit there and pretend everything is fine with Osaka Team, because it really isn't. I agree. All we're doing now is speculation and theories, and unfortunately, we can't get very far with that. That being said, I will still assume a pessimistic standpoint. Not sure if I entirely understand this. You're saying that glitches, freezes, and crashes are normal, but the trick is to make it so the players don't ever trigger these? Wouldn't that be more or less the same as eliminating them? The point is that 1.5 and 2.5 were bad in terms of stability. That doesn't mean it crashed every 2 seconds you played the game; it just means there were new additional glitchiness + crashes that were found and weren't in the original counterparts. That's the problem; if Osaka is lazy enough to make lazy HD Ports that can't even compete with their originals, I'm not sure how I feel about them making KH3. It's like handing over the job of guarding a bomb or something to someone who is lazy and have proven to be incompetent in the past. Would you trust that person? Obviously not. That's why I can't shake the feeling of KH3 being bad; you're giving the job to people who have shown to make games in the past that were sub-par, and I think KH3 deserves more than that.
-
KH3 Pessimist.
I never based my opinions on 2 minutes of 0.2 gameplay though. I based my opinions on everything Osaka Team has done, and can't understand how people can possibly be optimistic when all their history in the past has shown nothing good from them. I don't think you understand my point here: I'm not saying that this proves KH3 gameplay will be bad. I'm saying that it's a legitimate reason for suspicion and worry. However, to those extremists who say that ____ proves KH will be good/bad, they're the ones that are stretching it. I say it's a similar situation to BBS because all we have is the surface level, which is flashy gameplay and nothing more. That's the same reason people liked BBS, while those who disliked it realized the fundamental gameplay flaws it possessed. I'm not saying it will be like BBS, but I caught this similarity between the two, which means it could potentially turn out to be the same. Also, you'd be surprised at the amount of hate I've gotten for saying something negative about KH3. I've literally seen flame wars in forums and comments over a small thing someone said because they "insulted their most anticipated game". I'm taking this seriously because so many others are. Why do I act like it's gonna be terrible? So I can prepare myself if it does happen. If you go into the game expecting something even half-way decent/comparable to the best games and it doesn't meet that expectation, you'll be severely disappointed. I expect the lowest possible result, which means that I can't be disappointed if it's bad. If it's good, then awesome, I'll play the crap out of it and love it to death. However, before I play the game, I'll remain a pessimist. It's a mental preparation thing. But then again, as you said, this is all one big opinion and nothing more. People still get angry over opinions though, but that's the internet so what can you do ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Search Results

Name something you hate, but most people love.
KH speculation/theory videos. (or speculation/theory videos in general) IDK, I guess I'm just not much of a theory person when it comes to gaming in general. It bothers me when people freak out over a small detail they saw in a trailer and assume it's something huge, or Square giving us a clue of what's going on, when in actuality it's actually nothing of importance. I prefer to wait until the game comes out, and learn there.

KH3 Pessimist.
Not necessarily true; just because it looks nice on the surface does not necessarily mean it's fun or good. If there is an overpowered ability, that destroys the point of using other abilities. If you restrict yourself from using it, you're not getting any more out of the game; it doesn't make the gameplay experience better. You'll be forced to maintain this code of honor for the sake of enjoying the game a little more. It will be even worse if they pull a BBS and DDD and end up designing the gameplay AFTER these overpowered abilities. Ever played DDD Critical Mode Level 1? Try beating it without Balloon. It won't happen; the game literally forces you to abuse Balloon to win, otherwise it becomes impossibly difficult and tedious. That being said, i'm not saying you can't enjoy the game if it's unbalanced and has bad boss AI. That's all up to your own opinion; however, I as a pretty hardcore player of KH games will have an issue with problems like these, because after the 3rd replay, I realize these issues and it will start bothering me a lot, and I'm sure the other half of the fanbase will take awareness of it too. Also, I can't agree that there's more evidence towards good gameplay than bad one. There are some good signs; for example, your physical combos don't look as useless as the ones in BBS and DDD. However, you have to consider deeper down. All we know right now is that we have Magic, and we have decent physical combos. What about enemy AI? What about balancing? Osaka Team has not been known to get these things right in the past. What about glitches, freezing, and laziness? You might say that because this is KH3, but there is no definitive proof of that. 1.5 and 2.5 were awful in terms of stability in comparison to their original counterparts because of Osaka Team was lazy and made a bad port. In combination with my pessimistic personality, I don't see any good coming from it. Also yeah, you have to understand that I'm am a pretty big pessimist so I tend to look at things in the worst way possible. Honestly its all speculation at this point, but I'm just preparing myself in case the game will be bad. If it's bad, I'l be disappointed, but not too disappointed. If it's good, then I'll be awestruck and super happy. Still not counting on it though. And yeah, I do take it seriously because others take it so seriously as well. This community is hyped up about KH3; you see speculations, theories, fan-made concepts, etc. almost everywhere. Yes, I am aware KH2 and KH1 are not the same staff. However, BBS, DDD, 1.5 Remix and 2.5 Remix are made by Osaka Team. Those games share similar flaws: BBS and DDD suffers from horrible balancing issues and bad enemy AI (especially the super bosses in BBS). 1.5 and 2.5 are plagued with glitchiness as a result of lazy porting. I'm worried because if Osaka is lazy for KH3 and all these issues and glitchiness is found in the final game, it will suck. And yeah, I'll provide a couple examples: 1. Aqua's combos are slightly faster than BBS, but they still have that sort of floaty weak feeling to it. It's definitely better though, so that's a plus. That being said, the KH3 trailers show Sora's combos to be slow and weak, hinting that physical combos might be trivialized by other potentially overpowered abilities. 2. There has been no sign of returning "Revenge Value" or "Forced Revenge" system, which means bosses can be entirely random resulting in bad enemy AI. 3. Potentially overpowered abilities: Cure in KH2 was good because it healed you completely, but you also lost all your magic. Cure in 0.2 heals a good chunk of your HP, but doesn't drain all your MP. This can render items almost useless like in KH1. 4. More potentially overpowered abilities obsoleting everything else: shotlock, attraction flow, etc. Wouldnt it be a shame if the surefire way to beat KH3 was one ability, and it worked on everything? 5. Broken story. It's pretty convoluted at this point, although I guess some people like the lore so I won't linger too much on that since it's kind of an opinion. That's some of the stuff off the top of my head, athough there's definitely more.

KH3 Pessimist.
Yeah see, that's the thing. KH3 looks awesome. It looks flashy, it looks incredible, but that's all on the surface. That's why people loved BBS at first, but many grew to hate it when they realized the flawed in-depths mechanics. That's why I don't want to assume KH3 is amazing, even if they gave us a great looking preview.

KH3 Pessimist.
I'm one of THOSE people. Yeah, you know, the one that everyone hates and calls a pointless pessimist and hates your negativity, and your criticism, etc etc etc I just can't be optimistic for KH3. Am I excited for it? I suppose, but will I think it will be an incredible, mindblowing, "best KH game" yet? Absolutely not. I have my reasons for being pessimistic. Firstly is because I've always been sort of a pessimist; for example, I would expect an F on a test and get a C back and feel not as bad; opposedly, those who expect an A and get a C back feel awful. Secondly is because of the usual "Osaka Team" ramble, which I'm sure most people are aware by now. Even after seeing 0.2 gameplay, closer analyzing lead me to realize some very bad signs in the gameplay, which, if it carries over to KH3, can potentially...suck. Thirdly is because I think DDD ruined the story beyond repair, and not even KH3 will be able to fix it. Time Travel...what were you thinking Nomura? I hate when people go like "Oh wow, KH3 is going to be perfect just because it's KH3" because you don't know that. Using the fact that "it's KH3" to justify the game is good is ridiculous. This is also the crap that leads to massive, complete disappointment if the game comes out and it's glitchy, unbalanced, and sucks. Now can I justify that it will suck? No, I can't. However, I think it won't be as good as people say it will be. I also think it won't live up to its hype. Then, I get told, "if you aren't 'excited' for KH3, you're not a true KH fan." So why should I even bother being a fan then, if that requirement is needed to be a "true fan"? To absolutely love every game Square makes even if it is plagued with issues and glitchiness? I'm not optimistic about the game because of the signs Osaka Team has shown. I'm not going to be optimistic. So stop trying to make me an optimist, because I'm not. That doesn't mean I hate KH at all; it just means I want to see my favorite game series do better than it recently has. I fell in love with KH1 and KH2, but it's pretty much been downhill from there. So hopefully, you can see where my pessimism comes from. I get told after the 0.2 gameplay released, "Look at that! There's no way KH3 will suck now, the gameplay is incredible!" Once again, a completely blatant and ridiculous claim. A few minutes of 0.2 gameplay will show you nothing about the insight of KH3. It will not "prove" the game is good. People who say 0.2 gameplay is amazing is looking at the surface again. It's literally BBS all over again. People loved BBS at first, but recently, it's been getting a bit more attention to the issues it had. Why did people love BBS so much at first? Because it was flashy and fun to play around with the combat. It looked cool. It's the same thing with 0.2. The graphics are pretty incredible in comparison to the previous KH games. The spells and attacks all look super awesome, and even physical combos seem a bit better than the ones in BBS and DDD. That doesn't prove anything though. You might get a super overpowered attack that completely negates everything else you have in the game. There might be glitchiness, freezes, crashes. There might be horrible boss AI that is designed after horrible in-game mechanics. You don't know any of this yet, so assuming 0.2 proves KH3 will be incredible is such a ludicrous claim that I can't possible comprehend how these people are reasoning this behind their heads. So what if KH3 comes out inevitably, and it's an actual good game? People will probably yell at my face, tell me that "you were wrong and a dumbass for having low expectations." They can say what they want. I'll be stoked obviously; I still want KH3 to do well. That being said, if it does turn out to be a bad game, none of us are benefiting from this. However, I'll have this extra cushion that I've prepared in my mind, that tells me, you knew this was gonna happen. You shouldn't ever expect so much. KH3 is overhyped. People are in love with it even though we've seen little to nothing of it. I don't see much glimmer of hope. I have no reason to be optimistic. Insult me, call me names, exclude me, hate me; do whatever you want. However, you will never change my opinion on this subject, so stop trying.

Kingdom Hearts & MP System
Oops my bad, I meant to put "MP Haste". That being said, MP in KH1 was completely broken; there really is no arguing around that. Being able to literally abuse the "hit and get MP back" system made items completely useless. It's rare that you'll actually find yourself using stuff like Ethers, especially mid-late game (with the exception of a few fights, aka Phantom), because you'll always have some MP to use. Have any of you guys ever seen a LV1 fight, one MP, against Sephiroth? Have you ever wondered how that's even possible? Because every combo you do completely refills your single blue MP gauge, meaning you quite literally have infinite MP...at 1 MP. That's only just an example of how broken the system is. KH2 nerfed Cure. Heavily. And that was a good thing, because you can't spam it over and over again. Even Ethers (without any Item Boosts) only restore around half of your MP recharge gauge, giving you a cooldown. This creates a balance between spamming spells and using other options. Honestly, KH1 MP system wouldn't be anywhere as broken if Cure took, say, 3-4 MP bars each. However, the fact that it only takes 1 MP bar and heals a good chunk of your HP means that you can pretty much abuse and spam it anywhere.

Kingdom Hearts & MP System
KH1 was broken cuz MP Rage + MP Gift + MP Gift = literally infinite MP. Combined with Leaf Bracer in FM, Sora was quite literally invincible after Mid-game if you knew how to play the game. KH2's is infinitely better.

My idea on how magnet could work in kh3
think it'd be cool if magnet interacted with the environment, but they need to prioritize on making it not overpowered. For example, if Magnet can instantly drag every enemy and drop prize in to one spot and render them completely defenseless as well as potentially restore your HP (from HP orbs), it can easily overpower any other spell in the game.

Peter Pan Truly Is Broken
He was level 1. EXP Zero has this weird property in BBSHD that buffs your strength heavily for multi-hit attacks. As such, attacks such as Spellweaver finisher, and Swordbill (pan's dlink finisher) deals ridiculous amounts of damage. This only works on level 1 tho, any other level won't be as powerful because you won't have EXP zero equipped.

Why do people hate Chain of Memories?
Yeah at this point, I'm just willing to accept that KH players are not accustomed to sudden change in flow of the combat. Still though, I've seen people claiming that they absolutely DESPISE the cards battle system, but they never really provide any valid reasoning as to why. Does this show something about our community? Is it just not very accepting of change in the games? Wow that got deep there for a bit. Something else to notice is that BBS/DDD's command deck system is kinda like a dumbed down version of CoM's Card System, which I appreciated the effort in, but felt like it could've been executed better (in terms of balancing and stuff, you know, the usual complaints). That being said, I suppose I sort of see why combat in those games can be viewed as more fast paced and exciting than CoM, but I guess it's just personal bias that doesn't allow me to understand why people would value flash combat over specific strategy and technique.

Why do people hate Chain of Memories?
Hm, interesting points. It seems as if you dislike it because of the strategic element inside that I enjoy. You build your decks so that you can deal with enemies strategically. Maybe it's our different playstyles, but I don't personally wait out every battle and force a cardbreak on an enemy. You play strategically, you set up your deck with Sleights, and use enemy cards to your advantage to attack them with an onslaught of sleights. Games like DDD which have combat modeled more of an action RPG will obviously be faster paced than CoM, but I don't see that as necessarily better. I also have a very Sleight-heavy playstyle, so by late game, not many enemies have the ability to break my cards (with the exception of bosses). It really adds more strategy this way; you need to consider what to use against bosses and enemies depending on who your fighting. It's not like the system is unfair; you can Cardbreak your enemies, or your enemies can Cardbreak you. I'm not too sure if I agree with you for the Card Deck and Menuing either. It felt easy to understand, and after a while, it didn't take long to remember which sleights are which, and which Card is stronger. Honestly, I found half of the fun being able to customize my own deck with my own knowledge of the game. In comparison to, say, BBS, which pretty much required that you had some form of guide for Command Melding, the Card system in CoM is very accessible and easy to learn, at least for me. Regarding the flow; I don't see anything wrong with Cardbreaks. If they are able to break your cards, you strategize and come up with better methods. In fact, I'd say BBS specifically was even worse in this aspect. Bosses can randomly block your attacks and end your combos without any warning. At least CoM gave you a warning when an enemy had the potential to break your attack, and when they do, you react accordingly to counter and take as little damage as possible. That's all there is to it. What I really don't understand is that people seem to hate the restrictions the card placed among them, yet they love other games that places restriction on your combat and forces you to play a certain way. What's the difference between the basic combat ideas of Dark Souls and CoM? They both place heavy restrictions, and as far fetched as a comparison these to games might be, they have a lot of similarities. Dark Souls forces you to play conservatively. Your attacks are restricted; they have lag to them, and you also need to keep into consideration factors like stamina, enemy retaliation, ect. Isn't CoM basically the same? If you strategize correctly, you can win. If you strategize incorrectly, the enemies break your cards and you get hit. You're being restricted, but that doesn't mean the game is automatically bad or not fun. So what's the difference? I don't see it. The rooms can get repetitive, I wholeheartedly agree with that. Perhaps thats one of my few negative grudges against CoM. Yeah I see what you mean, but isn't that kind of the strategy involved that so many people love? If you have a powerful sleight you can unleash, they are usually able to be broken really easily. This is in order to nerf them. Ars Arcanum does an insane amount of damage, but you can rarely pull it off because it's such a low value. High risk, high reward, low risk, low reward. I'd say the game does that right, and so many other games do the same and gets complimented for it. So what makes CoM different so that so many people consider it as bad?

Why do people hate Chain of Memories?
Hey that's actually a good point I never considered. The game is very confusing to start, and especially players who've played through the first game and loved it would not have appreciated this sudden and confusing change. That being said, the game does do well at teaching you the basic combats, and I'd say the majority of people who have complained about CoM have also played through a decent portion of the game, which should at least give them an idea of how the combat works.

Why do people hate Chain of Memories?
I can kinda sort of see why people would hate it if they just prefer pure button mashers, but that still wouldn't explain the large portion of the fanbase that hates the game. I refuse to believe that so many people hate CoM just because of its non-button mashing restrictions, because people love games like the Dark Souls series which is based off of restricting your attacks and finding openings; CoM is very similar in that aspect, where you can't mash a button and expect to win. There has to be something else behind the negativity of CoM. Once again, RNG can be quite annoying sometimes in terms of card drops, yet people also love games that have heavy RNG elements to them. For example, take Yu-gi-oh games; lots of the battle system is based off of RNG, yet so many people love it. Same can be said with Pokemon, Mario Kart, etc. So I don't think RNG is the reason either. Also ya, I'd say Card Breaking substitutes a Guard ability, but maybe that's just me. It's really interesting since I absolutely love CoM, just the same way I love games like Dark Souls and Pokemon and stuff. I just don't see all this negativity. (Also as a point of reference, KH2FM is my fav KH game, followed by CoM)
