I could see the same happening here
In Rebirth at least out in the open world you could still recover MP on benches, it was just in dungeons and stuff where it didn't work
or they're doing a compromise where there's no MP recovery at benches/recovery spots but you can still recover with items at least
But if there is no item bans then I don't think that will be a thing either
