Samsung has decided to discontinue the Galaxy Note 7, after all that has happened. As you may already know Samsung already recalled the first batch due to a fault in the batteries causing it to catch fire, but it seems that the replacements were suffering similar problems. So Samsung has decided to discontinue the device. This could have a huge affect on their finances and reputation.

Wow, I didn't expect that.

I just upgraded to the regular Galaxy S7 and then not too long after the news about the first batch of Note 7s catching fire comes out haha. Guess I dodged a bullet there, glad I didn't go for the Note. xD

Apple must be having a field day with this, sucks big time for Samsung though. :/

How ironic, I was a Samsung representative for their mobiles during 2015. As a rep', I can say that we admit to our faulty product and re-present with more reliable models. Besides, Samsung still has the Edge brand that's still successful. Successful enough to gain the bigger market share during 2015 over Apple.

Wow, lucky. You dodged a massive bullet there. xD

Though Samsung have also got LG, Sony and HTC to worry about, especially if they lose customers over this Note 7 issue, which I'm sure they already have.

True, true, just mentioned Apple because that seems to be their most prominent competitor as far as smartphones go, they would definitely have to worry about the others as well though. I'm sure they've lost customers over this, I mean you know it's bad when the solution to the defect is defective too. :/

Yeah, this is really bad for them. Somewhat ironic too. Fixing a problem, only to have the same problem again...

Not quite, they're suspending sales of the Note 7 and investigating it (but somehow they can't replicate the exploding phones — maybe Samsung's lab will blow up when they get all the phones back).

The Note 7 should be back, but people are saying that it's discontinued. As far as I've heard, Samsung is only investigating and pulling back stock.

I don't honestly know who would buy the Note 7 from them again after all that has happened. Who would want to trust it a third time? This really sucks for Samsung; I've always loved their stuff, and I can't even imagine how this must be hurting the company.

Like Wakeless, I'm sure this has probably helped out Apple, especially since they just came out with the iPhone 7 during all of this craziness.

That was for the first batch. The second batch had similar problems. Wall Street Journal, Tech Crunch and many others are reporting the discontinuation of the product as well.

If I were still working on Apple, we'd be screwed, since we'd get calls from people asking if the same was going to happen to their new phones xD

I still got my Samsung Galaxy S 3 mini, I'm not really worried.
