Everything!

Except for Xehanort....

I really, really like the idea that everything is born from sleep, and that someone losing some form of their existence (be it by having their heart separated from their body, having their body stolen, ending up on the Realm of Darkness, outright losing their body) doesn't necessarily mean they are gone for good. It's a different way to deal with death than most series, and I genuinely enjoy it.

Besides that, there is also the idea that as long as the person wants it, no one is beyond redemption. Both Riku and Ansem the Wise were able to recognize their mistakes and rise above them - and now both are crucial to restoring the people who are hurting.

In the story itself, KH has been subverting expectations since KH1 (Kairi's inside me?) and while I think it goes too far for the sake of a twist sometimes, I love a lot of what has been done.

  • I absolutely adore the concept of KH in its entirety; bouncing between fairytales that exist in separate worlds in order to create a larger fairytale at its core.
  • I love how Nomura doesn't plan everything out like a responsible story-teller and adds retcons and twists every other second because the result is absolutely ridiculous and unpredictable and the most this is just for fun storyline I've ever seen. I'm all for it.
  • I love how everything is focused on friendship and it's positive impact on life rather than romance. I appreciate the friendship tone in general
  • I love Chi's aesthetic and I just love fairytale-esque powers
  • I love the ridiculous try-hard characters and everything they stand for

All in all, my favorite thing about KH is that it's like asking a young child to tell you the best story that they can manage. It's less worried about fitting the status quo and being comprehensible and more for being imaginative and having fun. It's endearing to me.

I can't even begin to describe what I like about this series.  I really like how complex the plot is, how characters like Axel/Lea are changing to become better people.  I think it's just something you like without a specific reason.

I love everything in the series except the time travel. I love that everyone has potential to wield the keyblade. I love how Disney characters and Square Enix characters can coexist. And I love how Kingdom Hearts looks like a Disney game but it becomes more than a Disney game.

I like a lot of the cast and how they differ from most characters in other JRPGS. I like KH a lot because it's so damn unique, name me a franchise where you've got a group of villains like ORG 13 or a guy like Xigbar or a guy like Xemnas ? xD

The story did try to zoom out and look at the bigger picture... Although that was a big failure I can't say it wasn't enjoyable to watch.

I love everything about the story of Kingdom Hearts!  From the classic battle between good versus evil, to discovering the power of a person's heart, to discovering how everything is connected is just amazing!

I never would've thought that Disney and Final Fantasy could merge so well, and merge so well it did! I love how they intermingle, and the main characters of the series don't feel out of place with Disney's characters, ya know?  I also love the complexity of the plot, and the world building which has been slowly increasing with each game! We've gotten to know so many characters, we've related to them, we've cried for them, we've been through good and bad with them!  We've seen it all!

What I love most is that the story of this series can impact lives!  Like, taking away an element of the story, such as Riku's journey to redemption, can be a perfect example of a person who's done wrong in his life, and wants to atone and overcome that weakness and become a better person! Or Sora's heart, which can exemplify that even though the world is all fudged up, there's still kindness in this world, and you only need to be willing to embrace people with your heart, like Sora has! The story is very emotional that way!

And Xehanort!  XEHANORT IS DA BEAST!!!!  Haha, his involvement in all this has made me deeply enjoy this series very much! I'll miss the old coot when he's gone! :

I also really like how they deal with "death" in the series, and I think you explained it perfectly.
