There's One Thing I Can Never Understand

Posted

Why do people like to say "first" in the comment section of YouTube videos? I never understood why people make those kinds of comments.

Oh those, I hate them. It was as annoying as the ¨under 301 club, how tough are ya?¨ comments.

It's pretty much for bragging rights. Kind of petty if you ask me. All it does is ensure that you're the first comment people see when they scroll through them, if they even bother to look at the comments that is. If you're going to waste people's time by stating the obvious, you should at the very least have something worthwhile to add in addition to it. Like, I don't know, actually comment on the video? What a concept! In any case, it's essentially one of the many petty quirks of internet culture that has persisted over time, and while it isn't nearly as bad as starting a flame war, it's still kind of a juvenile thing to brag about.

I always reply to those dumb comments by saying "last to resolve" xD It's a Yugioh joke.

Peace!

I guess because want to be the first???  I've commented with a number just to be funny, but I don't think I've ever been first.  I think...

A need to feel special I guess?

To show that they're superior .

It's been there since the dawn of Youtube.
